Joanna threw less & landed more. That means Weili threw more & missed more. That’s undeniable. What’s debatable is whether Weili is the harder puncher, or whether Joanna just bruises easier? If there was any 10-8 in Nate/Conor 2, it was the first round, not the third. Bullet out struck Nunes everywhere except on leg kicks, including in Amanda’s own TDs. Bear in mind there’s no way Bullet could ever get big enough to fight effectively at 145, and no way Nunes could ever get small enough to fight effectively at 125, with Amanda having a 2.5” reach & >3” height advantage. She should have dominated everywhere but got a win off of ineffective leg kicks & unproductive TDs.

Beautiful analysis bro. I thought JJ vs Weili 1 was a draw honestly. Weili has a hell of a chin. Agree on the Nate Connor as well. Nunes vs Shevchenko 2 was a robbery and you are on point there. Shevchenko can make 115 but she doesn't want to destroy herself doing that. 135 is not much physical difference for her than 125. Whereas Nunes has a tough cut to 135 and couldn't make 125 if she shaved her head and amputated a foot
@DakonBlackblade22 жыл бұрын
About Amanda x The Bullet, first leg strikes and body strikes do count, second apart form the two last rounds Amanda actually outstruck The Bullet everywhere on round 1 and only landed 2 less head strike son 2 and 3 while outstriking her on body and leg strikes. Third none of the strikes in that fight were actually heavy, they were all pretty light, head or otherwise. And lastly overall the fight was super low volume, which makes it very hard to score. Also you gotta be a fanboy if the reason you scored that fight for Valentina is because she is smaller than Amanda therefore should somehow have a handicap ? That is one of the most stupid things I ever read in my life. The salt from both Valentina herself and her fans about that fight is legendary. I love ppl who do not understand the concept of a close fight and cry robbery.

I think people score McGregor Diaz 2 in Nate’s favor is actually because of the second round; at the end of the round Diaz landed a pretty good flurry on McGregor and had him backed up to the cage, and then on the live broadcast you had Goldberg declare that the fight was now 1-1. I think a lot of fans tend to forget the 2 knockdowns by McGregor in the first half of the round and instead remember the round for how it ended, and Goldberg saying what he did I think shows that and also probably skewed some perspectives of the people watching the PPV

The fact that you got people calling for a 10-7 means Frankie was a death's door for the 1st round of both title fights. Crazy how a non finish can throw a man's career off a cliff.
@madgavin75682 жыл бұрын
Gray Maynard had heavy hands, but his finishing instincts were so poor. He'd frequently rock and hurt his opponents, but he just couldn't get them out of there.

What about GSP vs Hendricks? It was razor thin and it's obvious how they looked who took more damage. If it's that razor thin I'd think damage would be a factor
@Dukeflyhawker2 жыл бұрын
Only need to look at round 1, where damage was not a factor for either fighter. In that round, GSP edged Hendricks in total sig strikes, sub attempts and successful take-downs. The other 4 rounds were a clear split. Close fight, but the right guy won.

Chael vs Jones should’ve been stopped Jones toe will never be the same.
@xSamWaynex2 жыл бұрын
Funny....but also....kinda true. Jones has a permanent scar on that toe, and had the fight continued any longer he could have actually lost the toe completely. Glad they didn't stop the fight because clearly Jones won the fight, but had they done so they would have been completely justified....medically speaking.

I rewatched Conor Diaz 2 a few weeks back and judging it as whole I have no doubt Conor won that war. Round 1 and 80% of round 2 Conor McGregor was simply in the matrix, there's no other way to put it. 3 Diaz, but he was not as dominant as was suggested in the video, 4 was Conor again, 5 Diaz. So I think round 2 was the decisive round, and that was the round Conor dropped Nate 2 or 3 times. Conor just won that fight.

Honestly the fact that people seriously debate this fight as a robbery kinda shows the average iq of mma fans.

Conor fans forever living in 2016, having to argue a close match in his favor because he hasn't won since then. Pathetic.

The only debatable round in that fight is the 5th, without that takedown at the very end I think we would have seen some 49-46 cards for McGregor

I am shocked that this did not include Bas Rutten vs Kevin Randleman in UFC XX. It was the first time that someone's nose was broken and the fight was allowed to continue. Randleman had superior position and used it to beat down Rutten but Rutten was attempting escapes and fight ending submissions. Rutten was more active but Randleman was more effective. Rutten was actively trying to escape position where Randleman was actively maintaining his position. While the strikes from Randleman were effective they were not necessarily an attempt to finish the fight. I have heard this fight debated more than all other fights combined and it is frequently brought up in discussions in which activity vs position - or submissions scoring vs striking scoring are factors

judging although having objective parameters(theoretically ) is more often than none it’s judged subjectively. the type of fighting style a judge likes etc plays a factor

It was not a good fight, but the result had legacy defining consequences. That fight enabled Amanda to establish herself as the WMMA GOAT, and had she lost it would have created a butterfly effect in the division as either what she accomplished would either not have happened, or came much later. Meanwhile Valentina was pretty much forced down a weight-class to establish her own title run getting stuck in 2nd place to Amanda. Plus IMO given how arrogant Amanda is, only makes the result sting when it shouldn't.
