I find it amazing how quickly accents can change in our country. Im also from Lincolnshire originally (Skegness) and you Sound a lot more "Northern" or "Midlands" than I do. Maybe skegness gets some influence from east anglia? I'm not really sure....I moved to Paignton in Devon about 5 years ago and it was always fun getting people to guess where I was from haha they can never quite tell 🤣

It’s like the expansion of London social norms maybe 🤔 hell, most of us probably used to speak Gaelic languages! Tv, social media etc will probably make us all sound the same soon enough. It’s kind of sad but it’s the nature of an ever more connected world.

London social norms coming from our foreign monarchies. grarss. Barth. Carstle.... sounds a bit french for my liking.

True I lived as a child during the 70s in the very North of Lincolnshire (where the accent to outsiders sounds much more like Yorkshire than the accent of South Lincolnshire). There were some people with very strong local accents back then, But when visiting now that only seems prelavant among older people. My young nephews bought up in the area have very little accent compared to passed times.

10 out of 10 for your vid Malc. I think I'll have bangers and mash tonight :) I've noticed that top ten videos seem to very popular on KZbin. There are even whole channels devoted to them.

+creamofcardstv Thanks. After seeing the original article I quickly came up with this 'instant' vid. Sometimes they work (actually took me around 4 hours) but hey....not too bad eh! Btw don't know if you've seen it but I've done a top ten vid. One or two better ones later should be in it though.

True that about the weird place names. I live in Ruskington, which every resident knows is actually Rusko. And yes, even though I've never actually lived on a farm I have stayed at a friend's farm and worked on it from time to time, also my house it right by a crop field so the smell of manure is quite strong from time to time.

+Alan Plumb Thanks Alan. First saw the page in our local paper, then Adam shared it so posted a comment they missed out 'racing' in the banger bit lol. Had most of the footage so thought it might work. Probably should have put a pic of the original up before each of mine.....passed a few hours anyway.

Having grown up in Lincolnshire, I feel robbed of the (non-sausage) banger experience in my youthful experiences! 😀 Tis still a beautiful place to return to though, as I love popping back to hike around the county!

Quite nostalgic and very enjoyable. They should sign you up to do voice overs for similar type documentaries. Well, its getting cold now Malc and I am attempting to replace the glass and rope gaskets on my multi fuel burners, which, as you know what my knowledge and dexterity is like, is going to be a major task! Probably end up having to ask our local "handy man" - handy?, well, he only lives down the lane!!! :)

+Eezee Listen Have you seen the original that is in the description Mike. I got the idea from 'Bangers' (cars instead of sausages) I had most of the footage, just had to improvise a few. The original article has a great many views, however mine has flopped as usual lol. Think you'll be ok replacing the glass. Just getting the bolts or screws out could be challenging.....
@EezeeListen9 жыл бұрын
+MalcOfLincoln I did see the "original", but it lacks your touch. I prefer the voice. Dont think yours has flopped at all Malc, just think that in general, You Tube views are dwindling. Re the Stanley stove (and bear in mind I am now living in Eire), on the big stove, discovered that the door was only held on by 2 screws in the hinges instead of 4. Got the door off ok, took a sample screw to M D O'Sheas, the "local" (40 miles away) general purpose store that also stocks Stanley stoves, only to be told that Stanley (American company?) do not supply screws any more, you would have to buy a whole new door which then comes with the screws (!!), but found the correct thickness screws in an engineering factory but they are way too long! Of course I have no tools being a complete and useless fool at anything that involves skill, so have to find someone who can grind or cut the screws to a very short length :)
@MalcOfLincoln9 жыл бұрын
+Eezee Listen Well that's progress at least. Easy job to cut the screws to length, sure someone will do that for you. As to views - I'm not too fussed, as long as someone likes them. But views in general are increasing dramatically. On FB for instance, someone shared a video recently...title said young girl does conjuring trick of turning paper into a live bird. She just stuffed paper into her hand and held a finger up.......got 35million views in a couple of days. On KZbin most people watch the videos that come up after the one you are watching is finished. If yours isn't shown, no one sees it. Mine rarely, if ever do.

Another one Saltfleetby. Not pronounced Saltfleetbee like Whitby or other Viking origin names, but either Saltfleetbuy or Sollobee (Saloby) by locals.
