I’m wondering how much battery it takes to shoot a 4-hour timelapse? Cold weather usually makes devices drain faster. The camera I use now always dies super quickly in the snow.

3 bat.

Depending on the interval you select and if you have the setting for the screen to go dark will affect battery life. Generally a 4-hour time lapse will require about 2 batteries. I recommend using a power bank so you can power your Ace Pro 2 much longer. I use this one from Anker and on a full charge it will run my Ace Pro 2 for about 24-48 hours depending upon temperature and interval for a time lapse. amzn.to/42fQyPS

In cold, with stability on, 4/8 k, you need 3 bat.

I just bought the Ace Pro 2 three days ago. I'm already testing it out a variety of conditions with excellent results. Glad you mentioned photo quality! Everyon has emphasized vidro, but photo quality could make tha Ace Pro 2 a tiny pocket everyday carry camera. I have the Insta Go 3 and X4. I've recently added the Insta360 Multimount handle as an alternative to the selfie stick. It works great with all my Insta360 cameras as a handle, adjustable selfie stick and tripod! Folds up to an 8 inch handle to keep the kit compact.👍🙂

Thanks for sharing your experience with this camera! I haven’t tested out the multipoint handle yet but need to. Sounds like a great accessory.

Hi. I've had GoPros since the GoPro 8. I currently have the 11. I've been pretty happy with GoPro's, but it looks like several other brands are, or have caught up, and perhaps surpassed GoPro. One of the main issues with GoPro has been the battery life, and now the newest GoPro uses a different battery that I would have to upgrade to a new charger. I'm thinking it's time to switch. What would be your humble opinion? Thanks. I've gained a lot of knowledge watching your Chanel. Thanks for your content.

This is a great question. I have bought each GoPro since the Hero 4 and currently own the Hero 13. I’ve also owned each DJI Osmo Action camera as well as many of the Insta360 cameras. All that to say, I find things I love about each of these cameras and other things not so much. So with the Ace Pro 2 I of course highlight my favorite features in this video. A few of those features the GoPro does not have are the flip up touchscreen, a dedicated night mode, and some other smaller things. The Ace Pro 2 does also have a larger sensor than the GoPro Hero 13. The removable lens cover on the Ace Pro 2 is also a huge feature since this is an action camera. Some aspects I still really like about the GoPro is the detail in the image quality in the daytime but the competitors are really close to being at that same level of quality now. I also like the star trails mode on the GoPro, but the Ace Pro 2 does have a star trails mode and it does well. GoPro does do 10-bit footage whereas the Ace Pro 2 is still only 8-bit but whatever the Ace Pro 2 does internally it’s really hard to tell that it isn’t 10-bit in most situations. The Ace Pro 2 does cost more than the newest GoPro but if you have an option to try it out with a good return policy and see if it’s right for you that may be a good next step.

So DJI action 5Pro or this?
@GreatDayForAHike17 күн бұрын
Both are great cameras. This one with that flip up touchscreen is a big feature for me. If you value night lapses or star lapses the Ace Pro 2 does these better than the Action 5. The Ace Pro 2 also shoots in up to 8K resolution. Action 5 goes up to 4K. If you need 10-bit footage the Action 5 does that whereas the Ace Pro 2 only does 8-bit. However, putting the footage side by side it’s amazing how little difference there is with the color depth. The Leica color science on the Ace Pro 2 is a really nice.

Has the focus issue been resolved on the second generation, considering it was very poor on the first one and that’s why the camera was returned?
@GreatDayForAHike17 күн бұрын
All action cameras of course have a minimum focus distance. In the case of the Ace Pro 2 the minimum focus distance to is now 0.37m (1.2ft). The Ace Pro had a minimum focus distance of 0.4m (1.3ft). So you’ll be able to have the Ace Pro 2 slightly closer to objects and still have that object in focus vs the original Ace Pro. I’ve not had any issues with the focusing as long as I keep that minimum distance in mind.

I own an Ace Pro 1. Is the Ace Pro 2 that much better that it would be worth me selling my Pro 1 for the 2?
@GreatDayForAHike17 күн бұрын
It has incremental improvements, but some are very beneficial. It has an upgraded sensor and chip, it does have a “log mode” now, and it does have higher resolutions and fps in most modes, including active HDR, Pure Video, etc. Field of view is slightly wider and there is a removable lens guard. Touchscreen also has more nits which makes it easier to view in bright light.
@tommycote155017 күн бұрын
@@GreatDayForAHike Thanks for the reply. Are the incremental improvements worth a the purchase price is basically what I'm asking. I understand my use case and your use case are going to vary significantly
@GreatDayForAHike17 күн бұрын
@tommycote1550 I would say I cannot answer that for you as it depends on which features you use most and value most.
@intertube100015 күн бұрын
Depends how you use it. I am using it for mountain biking, I upgraded to AP2 simply for wider FOV. Sold my AP1 for good price too. Plus extra color profile for Urban and Vintage which I really like, not available in AP1.
