Agree. The slow Motion on 1080P is terrible with the colors on the ace 2 pro. And the whole thing just screams that the Ace 2 paid more than Osmo did.

I've had my ap2 for about two weeks now, and the footage straight out of the camera looks amazing. I prefer using the linear or dewarp modes - less distortion, and the subject doesn't get all stretched out in weird ways.

Tbh the FOV of these three cameras doesn't make much of a difference in your video lol. It might be that you used outdoor scenes to demonstrate the FOV comparison. I’ve seen other creators showcase indoor studio renovation footage, where the Ace Pro 2’s FOV is noticeably wider than the other two models. Thank you for the comparison review!

Im sorry ma dude... i really don't like the comparison. Just feels like a real showcase how cool the Ace Pro2 is compared to the others. The whole color section is really weirdly graded. Just rlly feels like a paid video overall. Not a Gopro fanboy (boi did they messed up with past cameras) neither a hater on insta360. Just doesn't feel neutral in some segments.
@Bruno_Loves_2_Drive14 күн бұрын
Feel the same way... When Insta360 came on top and the other 2 were a tie, Insta360 got 2 points while the others got 0.5 point, but when GoPro came on top, a full point was awarded to the other two... If it is a 3 point system, it should be consistent all across and not used randomly to favor one over others!

1:31 THAT is exactly what I was looking for in a comparison video. I want to clip an action cam to my baseball cap to record my RC plane while flying it when I am alone at the slope or everybody is as well busy. Normal actions have wide angle so even a 5m / 196" plane gets small after a few hundred meters. So we have to zoom in in the video editor. With 4k it gets bad quality after a few times zooming in. 8k is an option then!

No mention of the settings which were used for the shots , no mention of the GPs unique 8:7 ratio in the features, no mention of the A5P Bitrate issues, no mention of the missing 10 Bit at the Ace Pro etc etc. Also the GP supports HDR HLG in 10 Bit

DJI action 5 is the winner for me. Sound is much better, not just slightly. And also they can operate automatically with the DJI mic2. While the mic 2 has their own windshield and can record much better stereo. Also the action 5 pro can continuously record in the background. So when you start recording, it actually started some time before, so you don´t miss that special moment. This makes the DJI the winner for me along with the longer recording time. Also it has a handle with build in powerbank! And backward compatible filters...

Really nice video. Except, the GOPRO 13 is an action camera, maybe the others are too. Where is the action evaluation? How do the cameras work capturing “action?” The others, it appears, have added influencer capabilities and I think you did a good job of capturing that. But, how do they work, as complete systems, as action cameras?
@TomHerriman10 күн бұрын
Great review! I really appreciate the in depth and relatively objective comparisons. Something that I have noticed in EVERY review and video I have seen, as well as in my own recordings, is that clouds ALWAYS loose their detail on the Action 5 Pro! In the Color and Clarity chapter, what color is that shirt you are wearing? White, right? You note early in your video, that color is subjective. I completely disagree! When I record, I do so with the intention of capturing what I'm seeing. I want that capture to be as true to my experience as possible! I never record with the intention of subjective altering the scene to satisfy my taste or artistic whims. Color accuracy is VERY important to me. In this regard, I would move one more point from the Action 5 Pro to GoPro based on what I'm seeing in your videos. From my tests with my Hero 13 and Action 5 Pro, I see the same. Watching your t-shirt in the Color and Clarity chapter, the Action 5 Pro is doing the same thing to the waves in the cloth that it does to the clouds. Earlier in the chapter you note that the Action 5 Pro has a lower saturation and contrast... If you have ever played with Lightroom then you might know that you can achieve this same Action 5 Pro look by over lightening the shadows and darkening the highlights. DJI and Insta360 are clearly doing this in camera, but DJI is doing it to a VERY unnatural looking extreme. You also noted the accentuated blues of the Action 5 Pro. Which clearly turned your white shirt into a terrible blue hued blob while walking in the shadows. The Ace Pro 2 also gave it a blue tint in this case. Despite noting the Action 5 Pro's poor color rendition, you gave it a point over the GoPro just because the Hero has a slight yellow lean. I felt, subjectively, like your skin looked more natural in the GoPro footage. I'd give that point to GoPro which is the only camera that presented your shirt as being white throughout the chapter. Also on the topic of color, in your color modes chapter, you spoke about some rather negative color issues represented on the Action 5 Pro. You talked about the "most unnatural looking" HDR like color, faked blue being applied to white blowout and yet, gave it a point.

they had production issues over a month, you could not even order it from their site at all. Rumours where that the first batch had some fogging issues on the lens. Usually if product just sells and is out of stock, they still keep selling and give you approx date when you will get it. In this case the selling was unavailable for a whole month at least.

idk but it seems that Ace Pro 2 on some review has just bizarre colors, sharpness in normal daylight conditions is good but in low light look like it's out of focus, unable to get proper exposure underwater and 8k is just a gimmick you want to use only when you move slowly or zoom. Then on all paid videos Ace pro 2 has no flaws whatsoever, it's just perfect in all situations. Then after release they stopped selling them without any notice, like they did not even know when they would have stock. Due to these inconsistencies I went for OA5, had multiple gopros before. It has good features but also lacking in others, gopro always had good image on daylight scenes where the image pops neatly and low light timelapse was great. OA5 HDR image looks dull, sure editing that in post with LUT helps but it still is not quite the same.

That's a very well made comparison. Image quality and reliability is top prio though. I don't like this artifical looking HDR at all and unfortunately this spreads out like a plage on action cams, smartphones etc. even drones. I've seen some really awful AcePro 2 footage elsewhere so I'm surprised Action 5 seems to be the worst here. Maybe Insta had some firmware update since launch (you're late, but maybe that's another good thing instead of all these day 1 KZbinrs). I definitely noticed HDR looks worse on Action 5 than an Action 4, so maybe people shouldn't follow the hype but are safe to keep the previous generation AcePro 1 and Action 4.

A totally flawed comparison which is clearly already highly biased towards the Ace Pro 2. This is because he didn't even mention the features the DJI has that would allow it to easily win this comparison...Such as the fact that the DJI is the only one with crystal clear OLED screens on both the front and back, allowing you see see everything clearly even in bright sunlight, and that it's the only one with a touchscreen on the front too, allowing you full control of all functions from the front of the camera, without having to flip up a delicate rear screen as with the Ace Pro 2, that is highly prone to damage in use, and that makes an already oversized action cam even bigger! Then there is waterproofing...Not even a mention of this in this comparison...The GoPro has a maximum dive depth of 10m (33 feet), and the Ace Pro 2 has a maximum dive depth of 12m (39 feet), but the DJI eclipses both of them with a maximum dive depth of 20m (66 feet)...Meaning it can go twice as deep as the GoPro without needing an additional dive case and a massive 27 feet deeper than the Ace Pro 2. And while he briefly touched on the DJI's amazing subject tracking feature, which is a comparison winning feature on it's own, he did not make it clear that it is the only one of three that has it. GoPros limited line up of of add on lenses are ridiculously expensive and the only one really worth having would be the anamorphic lens, and add on lenses for the Ace Pro are even more fewer and far between. The DJI has the most add on lens options, from CPL's, various ND's, a 15x macro lens, an 49mm filter thread adapter to allow DSLR filters and addon lenses to be used, and there is even a ultra wide angle lens that increases the FOV to 189 degrees! Again, that is comparison winning feature. And finally, there is the price to consider...The DJI is considerably cheaper than the other two...So if you add everything he failed to mention into the equation, it is clear that the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is the clear winner!

If you look at eg 12:29 or 12:30 in the video, the ace pro 2 color low light looks more yellowish....also eg compared to the action 5. So which camera gives the best real color?
