Most people buying this phone probably don't own a 25W charger...so it's going to suck if they don't research ahead of time and get a box that has almost nothing besides the phone in it, including the ability to keep it powered. Kinda nuts. They're cheap on Amazon but that can take days to arrive...guess Samsung doesn't care if their customers are left to rummage around for some weak slow charger from 5 years ago. They should be providing bricks when introducing new charging speeds, not that expensive.

My S10e is also Class 5 Gorilla, it fell out of my pocket when I was bending down on a stair going up to a porch and it fell maybe 1 foot or less, face down, glass got smashed significantly, paid $180 for a screen replacement and it's been perfect ever since. I think the replacement screens are higher quality, I always seem to have problems the factory glass, it's not bulletproof at all, get a good case with a raised edge!

Yes it does have the screen recorder, although most Samsung products have had that built-in since 2018! This is coming from someone who just got his a53 5G!

Only thing that i will hate in future of midrange phones is lack of headphone Jack. For me better buy is still a52s with headphone Jack and better performance, i dont mind one year more of security and software support. Samsung ships earbuds with a53 to cover potentially poor sales but people fall for their schemes.

Bluetooth headphones are high quality enough and cheap enough to not long necessitate a headphone jack, although it certainly is a nice feature to have. But I can get a decent pair of Bluetooth cans for $20 bucks, several hours of battery life as well. I will keep older devices to use as media players, which is probably a better idea than trying to cling onto an aging form factor (headphone jacks go as far back as the 70s/80s). Nothing lasts forever.

The part you would need is only $1.70 on ebay and $5.99 & up on Amazon. Easy attachment to the power port. Takes less than 20 seconds. Things change like Cds, DVDs and such. Not happy about some changes but there are still options where you can use your good old wired headphones. Great phone!

I remember my LG Stylo was called a "phablet" when it came out: combination of a smartphone and a tablet. 5.7 inch screen 😂. So yeah...6.5 inches is quite a large screen for a device you should be able to use with one hand. I'd say that's unlikely for most people, at that size: you'll need two hands to access the entire screen. That's not the case for my S10e, which has a 5.8 screen. I have larger hands and I can genuinely use it with one hand.

And the best reason - you own it outright and you can switch to the carrier with the best deal. You don't need to get a top of the line expensive flagship these days. And, if you're a young person, you are probably out in bars or going to parties. If it gets broken or stolen it sucks. An over $1,000 phone, that's devastating. You still have to pay for it and now buy another phone. You'll end up with one like this anyways.

@@nanamikento4205 not sure if you're still checking these replies. But I just started using my A53 about 2 hours ago. I had to downgrade from my S20 5g because the screen repair is $375... I'm actually not hating the A53 so far, I'm impressed. I'm a general contractor so the plastic back is perfect for me, gives me less glass to smash. I'm also not a phone gamer I just stick to PC gaming so I couldn't tell you about that performance unfortunately. But the phone is doing great so far on KZbin, twitch, KZbin music etc. Only thing I noticed was a very MINOR amount of hitching but my S20 used to do that so it's not a deal breaker for me.

I brought this recently & from Costco in Australia it's $649 but I paid $500 same price as my old A52 4G but the screen isn't durable TOTAL LIE no one should believe any youtuber about the screen because first hand experience I dropped my A53 5G from a very short distance & got cracks in the screen

I can give a few reasons NOT to buy an A53-5G. A 9 day old one (in a case) slid out of my pocket while I was sitting on a picnic bench (14 " max) and the screen shattered. I called Samsung. Of course they said there couldn't possibility be a manufacturing defect but they'd fix it for $74.69. Long story short $139.64 and ten days later I've got a phone back that I have to treat like an egg for fear of breaking it. I was a longtime fan of Samsung phones. No more. This is my last Samsung.

I wanted to love this phone so much. I literally pre-ordered this phone in the US when it was first announced and got it around March 26-27th. I've had it for a little over two weeks now and I have to say the exynos 1280 seriously sucks. It has serious stutters while gaming and and there's even screen lag. The battery is solid, but if you already have the Samsung A52 5G, your better off with that phone. I want to say it out performs the A53 5G in daily usage, benchmarks dont always tell the whole story. I'll be sending this phone back this week.....its been a complete disappointment for me.

Samsung is an upgrade in all areas.. Some areas are small others big... Only changed phone as huawei battery was starting to degrade.

@@Samsung_Knignt You r wrong. Last year A52s has 778g which was 10 watt. That is why it overheated and drain battery. A53 has 5 watt exynos 1280 and a better cooling system. The difference in single core performance is 7%. The only difference is in multicore. So it is not good in gaming but is surely good in everything else. Moreover it is unoptimised currently.

Samsung has proven there is a global market for mid-tier devices split into the $400 - $450 price range AND the $300 - $350 price range. Enough of us are going to agree that we wish these devices came with a wall charger out of the box (Samsung is no longer including one in any of their A Devices this year!), that there's a headphone jack (the A33 5G does), NFC (yes for every A Device this year), software updates (A53 & A73 will receive more priority compared to the A33, A23 & A13), trade-in discounts (yes there are!) If you have a 2019 Samsung Device and want to upgrade to a 5G Network? I think the (2022) A53 and A33 will suit your needs. While I prefer a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, I would take a Samsung Exynos vs a MediaTek (in order to keep a Device within a certain price range the manufacturer has to make a decision regarding the chipset available - so think of this as Intel vs AMD in your home computer!)

Yep, that's pretty much me: the S10e amazingly had a better (and Snapdragon) processor than the A53 5G, but the A53 had 5G...which is a huge speed boost, and since a lot of smartphone usage depends on a strong wireless connection, I think it's worth the potential performance loss. Add to the fact that the A53 had a whopping 1900mAh more than the S10e, and you have a very solid upgrade choice. Every 3 years seems reasonable: every 2 years has grown less valuable lately, these newer phones just aren't improving as much as they use to 5 or 10 years ago.
