Stared 4 months ago, started with 5 to 10 minutes running, then walking for 3 to 5 minutes. Now running 25 km per week as a goal, dropped 5 kilos, have energy throughout the day and then some, and my lower back doesn't hurt. My Garmin 245 has been a trusty partner, giving me motivating feedback every run and making it a bit of a healthy competition every time I go out. Good vibes to all other runners out there!

@@shanebow well, either learning how to work my Fenix 6x 😝 or getting my life back🙏 I’m in much better control of both. Running is also something I’ve been able to do in the cold/rain. I would never pull out my road bike in the rain. (Might have been you but) Somebody said there’s never a bad day for running, only a bad choice of clothing 😝😝

Great video Shane! I've spent last couple of years running mostly alone on the local roads around me and couple of weeks ago I joined one of our local running clubs. I've met so many amazing people while running around forests and such. Pretty amazing experience!

Good video. Your other video about the Garmin pushed me into buying one, which I know love. A point on these 10 things is the one about saying hello to people. I used to do this all the time, but have followed advice from Runners World and stopped saying it to females which then led to not saying it at all. If a middle aged man runs past you in High Wycombe and blanks you, then I apologise 😀

Being severely sight impaired I took up running sept after changing my diet in June....since then lost almost 3.5 stone 48lbs. I’ve signed up to run Brighton marathon next year. Mainly trained on treadmill so far but weight loss, feel better in myself, running clears the head, kids especially youngest has gotten into running, met new people, want to help back with charity that helped my with eyesight deterioration etc The only negative is I’ve gone from 38inch jeans to 32inch so it’s buying new clothes that fit me and I HATE shopping lol ☹️

What an awesome story! That's really inspirational. Congratulations. Enjoy the Training (never see it as a chore) for the marathon and the event will be the icing on the cake. Smash it 👍🏃🏃😎

Hi Shane how do you get over knee problems? I struggle with IT band
@shanebow4 жыл бұрын
My first "injury" was a knee problem and it turned out onto be my knee bit muscles around my knee in my upper leg. I recovered quickly by foam rolling just inwards past my IT band. Within a week I felt completely different. Definitely look up foam rolling, it's cheap and a great little investment. Otherwise I would go to s good sports therapist. Look up reviews on Facebook, it's definitely a case of buy cheap pay twice. Good luck

When I started I had pretty bad pain in my knees, especially getting in and out of bed. Ended up changing my shoes and haven't had any problems. There was just too much cushion and roll in my original pair.

im a 5k runner but my left foot and knee always hurt, any tips to overcome the pain?
@shanebow4 жыл бұрын
Hi Zynary. It's hard to diagnose through comments I'm sorry to tell you. Your foot could be a number of things. Knee pain is quite often due to tight muscles in your leg, foam rolling these can fix the problem. I'd talk it through with a local running club or/and see a sports therapist. Definitely get it looked at as trying to cope with the pain could be making it worse 💪👍🏃
