I've felt like this since I was a child and I thought was normal until I grew up and realised something was wrong with me . I never had the motivation to do anything, had no goals and everything felt so damn boring. Luckily I got into teaching, it wasn't something I planned to do, I just wanted to find a job that'd be the easiest. During my college internship I was hired as an assistant teacher in a school and for the first time in my life I had something to look forward to, something that wasn't boring. It wasn't as easy as I expected but I enjoyed it. Its while I'm teaching that I never feel a hint of boredom or loneliness I hope you find that something that fills the hole in your heart

"it's loneliest in a crowd" Honestly checking if there is a concrete diagnosis to be made can also help. Getting diagnosed )with ADHD) after my 30's gave me lots of "ahhhh, that's why X", so I know what to work on. For many it is also a very valid "it's not your fault". Others find a community through getting diagnosed, cuz suddenly you find out, yes, you do work differently. But no, it isn't just you, there are people out there who relate to you. Who understand you in a way you hear other people are understood by family

I am feeling this since I stopped going to college because of financial problems and my perfect good average student character died since then I don't respect myself so nobody else does, I feel lonely everywhere I go, don't know what to do, but I am still holding on life.

it's so bad. I feel like I'm outside my body watching it but still using it, looking at others like "did they notice me not being normal?" wondering what a normal person should do, when a distant me from years past was very animated and social.

When he says “Every day for 2 years was very grey and dark for me, but it will come back great again, you will have sunshine days again… rose coloured days warmed by the sun.” That literally makes me cry like a baby. The pain in his voice as he says it too. I’m going through the worst stage in my life right now , so close to leaving the world tbh. I have nobody. @randy palla bro I would delete your comments. Comments like yours come from a bad place I suggest you take Tyson Fury's advice and work towards something positive. It's easy to criticise and be negative but your comments reflect poorly on yourself and not on Tyson Fury. I hope you can lose that mindset and find the motivation to improve your life perhaps rewatch the video and look at the words and forget who's saying them. Peace brother

randy palla I will never forget at the press conference for the 2nd Klitschko fight Tyson was talking in a way like he was a defeated man, he was hopeless in front of the cameras and was trying to put on a brave face. I said to my friends he is depressed and shouldn’t fight as he’ll get the kind of beating that would ruin him. It then came as no surprise to me that he slipped into a 2 year abyss. As someone that has seen depression and suffered from it I know the signs. I could feel his depression watching him because I’ve been there myself. I never used to like Fury but I knew his pain and think he is an inspiration to people that suffer from mental illness. Perhaps you have never seen or experienced mental illness, but take it from me Tyson maybe a faker in some aspects of his life but his mental pain is real.

Oh man...this really hits me hard. Thank you Tyson. About 18 months ago I weighed at 400 pounds, I've been up an down weight wise for the past 15 years, few years ago I even reached my peak at 460 pounds. But, on the first day of year 2021 I chose that I need to change something. That was the year I was going to turn 40 years old, and I just didn't want to die. I managed to find motivation in people like Tyson, that made me work harder each day. Five months from the day I started, my father died, and that really hit me hard. Mental struggles are tough even today, a year later. But somehow, I manage, I find motivation in all kind of places, from different people who went through tough times. Today, I weigh at 265 pounds, I feel better, I work hard every day to lose even more weight. It's a every day battle within yourself. Whoever out there is struggling, you are not alone. Stay strong, work hard.

As a man who used to struggle with depression these are the most helpful things I can think of: -Take Risks, don't let the fear of failure stop you from trying something new or something great -Do things that genuinely scare you or that you're afraid of (Even little things like climbing onto a roof and helping to put up Christmas lights if you're afraid of heights or saying something to the cute cashier girl other than "hi" and "thanks") -Pursue an ambitious goal, one that a lot of people don't believe you can achieve (It doesn't even matter if you fail this because no matter what the pursuit of an ambitious goal will make you a better person and give you fulfillment) With that being said, do your best to succeed -Have a passion, basically this means to find a hobby that you enjoy so much that you will spend hours and hours getting better at it -Study history, pick a role model, and then analyze the traits of your role model and list the reasons why you admire them. Then start to emulate these traits in your everyday life and eventually you will become your own role model. -Don't ever quit something just because it's hard (You can quit a crappy job if it's not the right fit for you, but never quit solely based on the fact that something is difficult). Embrace challenges and look for opportunities to improve yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. -Never put yourself down. Try not to think negative things about yourself and especially never say them out loud. You will think more highly of yourself when you say positive things about yourself, at the very least avoid putting yourself down on purpose. -Live purposefully. Have a direction for your life and if you don't already have one, make one. Decide what's most important to you and live accordingly. If you have a family or even a single loved one, your first priority (other than serving God if you're religious) should be to provide for them, to protect them, and to help them become the best version of themselves -Develop Integrity. I can't even explain how much this increases your self-repsect. Be honest, be trustworthy, don't cheat (unless you're in a street fight) and live with honor. -Find a hobby that you're really passionate about and strive to become a master at it -Finally, probably the most important thing I can say is to think less about yourself. Think less about yourself but not less of yourself. In other words, think about other people before you think about yourself, especially your family and loved ones. If you're focused on helping them with their problems I can promise you that your problems will become less important and less troublesome. Look for opportunities to help others and make them feel better about themselves. Nothing lifts you out of depression better than helping someone out of theirs. I hope this helps. I realize that some people are genetically predisposed to having a harder time with depression, but I believe that there's nothing you can't overcome with a strong mindset. In addition, I strongly believe that going through depression and having such terrible lows actually gives you the capacity to feel even greater happiness and joy. The reason I say this is because when you feel genuine joy after being depressed for so long you can't help but feel grateful. The beauty of life is that we are meant to experience the full range of human emotions, from happiness to anger to jealousy to despair to joy. We couldn't feel genuine happiness if we never knew what it was like to be sad. If I could talk to whoever is reading this face-to-face, what I would say to you would be simple: don't quit. A quote from Winston Churchill kept me going in times when I thought I had nothing left, he said: "If you're going through Hell, keep going." Everything in life can be and is meant to be an opportunity to make yourself better, and depression is no exception. Keep fighting, all of you are descended from warriors no matter what culture or country you are from. You wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the conquering spirit of your ancestors. Live a life that would make them proud. While most of us will not fight in physical wars, no one is exempt from the battlefield of life. Depression can be a battle every single day, every single second in some cases. Keep fighting, it will only get better. And the more you fight, the more you will gain respect for yourself. I've conquered my depression. Every now and then it will start to try and creep back into my mind but I don't let it. I destroy those feelings with action. I go lift weights, I go running, I listen to metal music, whatever it takes for me to regain my confidence. You can conquer depression, no matter how severe it is. That doesn't mean you'll never have days where you feel down, but it does mean that you'll have the strength to push through and do what you need to do as a man regardless of how you're feeling. Stay strong, stay hard, and fight like dragons 🐉 You're going to be very glad you did.

Training everyday keeps me alive. I had lots of difficulties this year. I always have suffered anxiety attacks but I never told this to anyone. I always tried to battle it on my own. This year was the hardest for me. My engagement got annulled and losing a girl I truly loved was the hardest. Following the break-up I had an accident and I ended up breaking my spine in the process. I couldn't walk for few months. It was the toughest time of my life, battling the demons. But I always thought to my self as soon as I will be able to walk again, I am going to the gym. It was not easy but I am feeling great again. I loaded up my schedule, with boxing, lifting weights, swimming, cycling, etc. It helps me to stay alive. Anyone who is suffering out there just keep your self busy and do something, any sports, anything.

I am currently going through everything he talked about, I've never heard of him before never known him until this video. And everything he described is how I have been feeling. Lack of motivation, always felt a sort of loneliness my whole life and the past 2 years of my life just being completely gray. I have wanted to go to the military, and learn a martial art but have always had difficulties working out pushing through and making it. In those moments I will remember these things he's said. I will motivate myself to continue to strive and make it out of this dark place my mind and I have sunken to. I smoked alot of weed daily just to not feel as shitty about myself with a bunch of "friends" who all really feel similarly about themselves as I do but aren't as mindful about it. I do not smoke anymore 2 months strong and I've had legal issues that have made it difficult to find work. For almost a year I've been out of work. I will turn my life around I will come back from this. I promise I will be better for myself, for my daughter for the world.

He said he wants to show the world that you can come back from depression and get back in shape and get back to the top, and that is why I love this man and that is why he will win the rematch. Nobody fights harder than a man who's got something to prove. In a sense, you could say, this man is fighting for every other depression-ridden person out there, to show them that if Tyson Fury could go from having zero motivation to even shower, to finally returning to boxing after 2 and a half years and go toe-to-toe against world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in just his third comeback match, to BEATING Deontay Wilder and being crowned heavyweight champion of the world, then anyone can make it back from the threshold.

This is the video I needed, not those "motivational" alpha male nonsensical videos screaming the "just do it" / "you can do it" attitude (they may be right, but doesn't help even a bit in my case). I've been feeling depressed for almost 1.5 year : I feel empty inside, like I don"t have the motivation to do anything nor to talk to anyone, I keep isolating myself and keep telling myself that I'll deal with it tomorrow (whatever "that" is), filling my days with background noises to feel like I'm not lonely and to not think about my current situation (in my case it's random youtube videos, from the moment I wake up till I fall asleep; and also watching series and movies, more than I can count). Everything I liked before, I don't feel like doing it anymore. I've lost confidence in myself, so the outcome is every social situation - even if it's not a confrontation - I tend to stay silent or agree with whatever is said, even if it means diminishing my self worth, and that just makes me even more depressed and inclined to hide at home. Thank you Tyson Fury, for reminding me that I'm not the only one feeling like this

The best quote I've ever heard was "it's always better to do something at 50% than to do nothing at 100%." Even if you aren't best at something or even if you're not good at all, you'll always feel better for having tried to do a little instead of convincing yourself you can't do anything at all. As long as you try, you'll continue to move forward and all of a sudden you'll be able to perform at 55%, 60%, 75%, 90%. Then before you know it you'll be able to work at 110%, beyond what you've ever thought was even possible
