My 3.5 year old nephew apparently is not allowed to cry. Last time he fell down, I went to rub his knee, and his dad said: Leave him alone. I do not want him to be a crybaby. Today the toddler jumped over the small fence and I followed him. Then grandma followed us and talked to him and made him come back. When he came back, since he is not allowed to cry, he threw down his little slide, his playhouse, and a chair. I've tried talking to his parents, 1 of them with an online psychology degree but they don't listen. Everything you said is so reasonable.

My daughter asks for a soft toy to hold when She has a meltdown. Is that Considered a distraction from her process? She is 3now, and I feel I'm just Now starting to learn to not get triggered on a regular basis.

Is there a certain age to start? Is sleep training part of them learning emotions?
