10 REASONS WHY PEOPLE LOVE CLEVELAND OHIO USA

People love Cleveland ohio but are not aware of the crime that plauges the city ! Downtown brings tons of money to the city and watching people over the years I noticed they don't fear to much unfortunately alot of people don't realize the shootings murders and carjackings that are going on in the city! Outside of Downtown Cleveland children are being shot down while sleeping a store run letting your animals outside hell a knock at the door could end your life! Is anyone aware that the city can't keep enough police or ems workers and homicide detectives have so many cases and such little resources... mayors continue to do very little to help victims. I was totally clueless always thought mind your own business and your fine Boy o Boy was I WROng! The crime will touch your life in some way some day! Cleveland is staged well!

The only truthful comment on here. People are either dishonest, or delusional. Cleveland is a crime ridden hole and Lakewood is on its way - exploding with car jackings and shootings since beginning of the year - right after we moved out in fact. Stay safe, please.

I'm in a Cleveland suburb and the crime is 300% greater than the national average that is true but also the crime happens in the slum where, as one person confided to me when I first moved here, "there's nothing you'd want to see anyway." So if you think of "Cleveland" as the far eastern suburbs + the western suburbs + downtown + most areas west of Cuyahoga River + the ENORMOUS Metropark system, this is actually a very nice place to live.

So much love and respect for Cleveland. It’s been through a lot but look at it today….. downtown is BOOMING!! But of course crime continues to be a thing. Spreading into the outlying neighborhoods as downtown flips and comes back up. Seems some of the surrounding areas are taking a hit as a result. Low police presence in some of the higher crime areas is problematic. Under funded and resourced, until the police get more support we can’t tackle those issues. But the center is revitalizing and that’s wonderful. We just can’t neglect the other neighborhoods in the process of “fixing” downtown. And the east side still needs more support and cooperation from the whole region and state itself.

@@aja8521 city life. It happens - unfortunately, lol Cleveland continues to drop in number of automotive-related crimes reported while Columbus is rising. Cleveland is still Ohio’s number 1 city for car thefts though. But Gangs? Maybe Chicago or LA. Lol Cleveland used to be home to a large Irish mafia up until the 1970s or so. Now it’s very light, if anything. Downtown is soaring and experiencing a revitalization. Hopefully the east side neighborhoods get that treatment next. Downtown it seems a new high rise apartment comes up every few months . This all helps turn the city around in the long run. Police just get under funded and under resourced.

Yeah many of which came during the early 1900s. High percentage of south eastern European immigrants reside in Cleveland. In 1880 Cleveland was made up of 4.58% south Eastern European immigrants. Come 1920, 20.96% resided. As far as north western European in 1880 it was 29.7% and 7.19% come 1920. Huge influx of Jews, poles, Italians, Slavic, Russian, Slovenian, and Hungarians. Just a little background. Cleveland is famous for its massive diversity ethnically… Especially in its early history.
