Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Lived there for 16 years of my life then moved to Nc. Move because my parents wanting to buy house now it’s time for me to buy a house and the home prices and rent prices are there near New York prices but the min wage here is not adding up to the cost of living here.

Yea well last time i checked you dont need a car in New York. Which saves you a lot of money compared to places texas where you need a car and theres no life. I lived in Hoboken whch is in the NYC area from 2016 to 2020 and those were the best years of my life. The only real problem in NY was the safety which wasnt even that bad.

Hi Jackie, I have been following your videos for a while now and have learned so much! I'm curious about what you think the end of student loan forbearance might have on the housing market/interest rates? The NY Times had a recent article which profiled someone who bought a home in a different market during forbearance and would have a very tight/no budget for that with a student loan payment. I wonder if you happen to know how common decisions like that were during forebearance in the NNJ market? (The article title was: "Student Loan Pause is Ending, with Consequences for the Economy")

Hi Melissa, thanks for watching the channel. Glad you find the videos helpful. I don’t really have an answer to that as I didn’t have many clients who were in that situation. Nor did I hear of that from other agents. But when someone is applying for a mortgage, those loans that were in forbearance had to be taken into consideration. This is a great question.

Don't move to New Jersey. Very high taxes, bad traffic, lousy mass transit.

Think overall your guidance and channel is balanced and informative, but this does not seem to be your best work. Feels like many of the reasons not to live in NY are applicable to NJ too. Weather. Politics. Crime. Cost. Agree on the reasons, but don't believe they are NY specific.
