Ok now I want to read them all, one per day, like a countdown to Halloween. I only read from this list I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. I read it some years ago during a lunch break at work. Even in broad daylight surrounded by people it left me unsettled.

Hey Millie! Yeah, you're right, that story is really unsettling. That's a perfect word for it. I love your idea of reading one per day as a countdown to Halloween! 🎃

I just discovered the series called Seth's Christmas Ghost Stories. These are tiny books and each is a spooky short story by various authors. They are delightful.

Oh that's awesome! I'll have to look them up. I love reading spooky stuff at Christmas. It overlaps my two favourite holidays 🎃 🎄

Thank you for reviewing some short stories. The world and their aunty seems to be obsessed with novels these days, and it was refreshing to see someone concentrate on my favourite kind of literature. Short stories are horrendously underrated.

Yeah I think short stories fly under the radar sometimes. I mostly speak about novels and novellas but short stories get love here too. Thanks for commenting.

Hey man! Yeah i know it's been a little while. I have a plan to make them a bit more regular from now on. It's just been crazy with being away and then playing catch up with everything. Hope you enjoy some of the stories mentioned in the video.

So cool, I’ve been diving into classic short horrors this month and I haven’t read any of these (apart from the Elison which I didn’t care for, but hey, I’m contrary) I reckon I’ll be burning through all of these in the near future. I know you didn’t care much for Lovecraft, but try The Shadow Over Innsmouth, I think you might quite enjoy that one. And I’m also trying to get more people to try Lot No 249 by Arthur Conan Doyle a bit of an overlooked classic. Both out of copyright so easy enough to pick up for free. Pants shitting optional. Class video as always.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely have to check out a Lot No 249. I read The Hellbound Heart yesterday which is another great horror short. It's the novel that inspired Hellraiser which I actually never saw. Very creepy!

In Amundsen's Tent (1928), John Martin Leahy. Lovecraftean horror without the lumpy writing. The text is on the Internet; better yet there several readings on KZbin.
