My step mom has always said, "Video games are evil, because they give people a false sense of accomplishment, and then they don't feel like they have to actually accomplish anything in real life." I'm 21 and make about twice as much money as she does, already have a house, and I'm getting married in 9 months. I've played video games quite a lot throughout my life. Doesn't seem to stop me from accomplishing things in real life lol.

Air Max I don't at all lol. I just try and point out that it doesn't necessarily do that. It depends on the person. When my older brother was my age he did pretty much nothing but play video games. Probably why she thought what she did. I just think it depends on the person whether or not they want to achieve things in life. I don't think that video games influence it that much at least. And yeah I know I could say I'm whatever I want on the internet, but it is actually true lol. I wasn't trying to use it to brag though. Just use it as an example of how a lot of people feel the same way as my step mom about video games and it isn't really true. I mean now, I am lucky if I get to play 3 or 4 hours in a month cause I am so busy, but I still play sometimes and I played a ton growing up.

I am a 30 yo teacher that has been away from video games for more than 10 years. Not until last year when I discover something called Horizon Zero Dawn while visiting a friend that have a PS4. And then I fell in love for that game to the point that in the next moth I bought a brand new PS4 to play that game again in my own console. Ever since then, I realized that my productivity and intelectual awareness has improved to the point that I'm being capable to work twice as much as I used to but without feeling any more tired because of it. Sounds crazy, but this is my reality now, and I'm really happy about it.

I am 100% honest here, When I first load up Bf1 (I play on PS4 pro with slightly above avg brightness on a large TV a bit over 10 ft away), I can’t really find enemies on the screen until I’ve been playing for like 15-20 min. I think this a solid proof than FPS like Battlefield where u r actively looking for small details (enemies) relaxes ur eyes and improves ur vision

People would rather give the blame to something they don't understand rather then fix a complex problem without simple solution, as is how I interpret anyone blaming violence or anti social behaviour on video games. Cause and effect, there are many reasons for complex problems hence why their complex many feel tempted to blame video games even though games are just experiences, their not drugs, they don't make people go insane, they serve to entertain or challenge. Unfortunately not everyone understands that.

@@rulesmash7990 It’s basically useful at work for me at least to work faster with my hands, because I tend to use the control super fast, and also the eye can sense things before they come your way. It’s kind of like practicing a sport eventually you’ll get so good at that sport that you’ll be able to use let’s say your soccer kicks to learn a new martial arts or vice versa if you are good with martial arts you could be great at soccer, because technically martial arts is all about being flexible and explosive. Same with games as long as you aren’t too into the game wasting 3 hours a day it’s ok. Normally I only do 30 to 40 minutes a day tops and on the weekends I do like 2 to 3 hours. That’s just me though I still have time to do martial arts and play soccer and even go to the gym 😂

Well for me the most interesting study that proof gamers can imagine better, the student find hard core gamers specially the fps they have a higher ability to visualize the things around them without seeing them in such a way space visualization is easier for them because they spend all their time moving in 3d world that every single axis can be reached and they can kill or being killed from all the directions so their sense of the space is higher and their ability to visualize and create a visual thing is way better than non gamers. For me I’m doing architectural studies and i see being a gamer is really help a lot.

Video games have done a lot to help me destress and deal with my depression. I actually really noticed it when I started going to college and my busy schedule only allowed my one hour of gaming cumulative per week. That actually made be pretty depressed and stressed as I was only allowed to enjoy my hobby very scarcely, but when I actually did play it felt as if I could get through the rest of my week. So gaming to me is very important to the point where I dont know where I would be today without it.

Owen. - ̇uǝʍO same with me I've never revised once in my life and I've always got solid scores (In the UK we use numbers that scale with your year and have different values every year) In my most recent mock exams (no revision) I got around a constant 50-60% which are grade 5s 6s which used to be a low b high b in the old GCSEs but the grade boundaries are only a few marks apart, like 4 or 5 marks between a grade after you get 50% correct

Two of the best characters in gaming this year! Kratos used to be the most cookie cutter guy in gaming for me until the latest god of war dropped. Now he sounds like a man so full of wisdom who isn’t blood hungry but will kill if I’ve needs to. The original trilogy it seems like it was done for just revenge but I approve the latest take on him even more because it was more for honor and love of his wife and son. Lara best character attribute is her brain. I enjoyed listening to her explain the collectibles and seeing her outthink herself out of anything. I’m excited to see her in the up coming game again. I’m currently playing through her other games to prepare for the third installment in my channel lol

Jo King that's an addiction you have... addiction is much more different than someone who games for a few hours a day... or a more hardcore esports gamer who seem fine as well..that's just you and others. Hell I fixed my addiction problems but it wasn't only games and I stuck to them because of depression and other things..so actually it's one reason I'm alive it's a reason why I'm doing so well now it's a reason I'm going to college a reason I found a interest in computers and software and hardware and electronics in general without that what would I be now I wonder.

For me, I feel it gives me an outlet from stress, depression and anxiety for a little while. I feel it also helped me learn more about things irl, in a more loose sense, but it made it easier to learn later on, since due to my autism, learning things and how the world works isn't always easy, but video games have absolutely helped me with that, and with other general, and basic knowledge as well.

Before I took up gaming, I was a really shy book nerd of a kid. I had severe social anxieties and was more introverted compared to my siblings, when I played my first online game ( it was this MMORPG game called Wakfu, the character I played as was a Eliotrope. My profile image) I slowly started coming out of my shell more and more. The people I played with were so kind and encouraging, the guild that I joined and the people in it were like family to me, I became more social and adventurous so to speak and 6 years later it helped reduced my anxieties and helped me became a better person. I still get jittery when I have to talk to people but compared to before I am definitely a happier person :)

I had to fight cancer last year (Lymphoma, I'm now in remission since Feb this year), but gaming honestly helped keep me sane going through chemo. It helped me remain happy by playing story games and immersing myself in a world where I didn't have a machine hooked to my heart pumping in chemicals to kill the cancer. If it wasn't for games I would've struggled so much more, mentally that is, as I wouldn't have been able to "escape" from my house and my current predicament (at the time), instead I was able to lead massive armies in the world of Total War Warhammer II, fight in a demonic invasion of Mars in DOOM and compete in an intense first person shooter of Overwatch. Cancer was not able to control my feelings, thanks to gaming, I remained as myself.
