I dig that movie too and a great third act after the plane crash. lots of tension in the scenes at the base as brad pitt and the team find the viruses. And an appearance from Doctor Who!!!

Cars DID use that scene, in one of the short episodes later. Its when some bullies come into town and lightning has to race them, and they take a wrong turn through that forest, among other things.

The fact the predator killer was a weapon and not a person (human or otherwise) was such a letdown. An individual so much of a threat to the predators they were considered just as, if not more dangerous than any weapon

The version of the Arnie rumour I heard was that the pod and ‘Predator-killer’ concept was still in there, but much like the Newt/Ripley rumour stated here it was a previously abducted Dutch inside Similar of course to the rumour that Dutch was going to be the survivor hiding out on the hunting reserve planet in Predators and that he (not, or along with, Brody) would be escaping at the end

I think you are right. The ending doesn't seem to fit how the story unfolds until that point. John convincing Marcus to take on his role would have made sense, seeing John accept Marcus and Marcus finally accept himself, ironically by becoming John.

Highlander: Endgame - Trailer showed the MacLeod’s fighting Kell together. One of them manages to hit the villain with his sword on top of the villain’s head the cut starts to glow splitting the villain in half. Then the two halves SEPARATE forming TWO whole villains. Imagine if they had kept this concept. Each one having one face a villain with this power.

Well, I don't think I saw Talia being the mastermind and FREAKING BANE being just a pawn, when BANE is the guy who FIGURED OUT BRUCE WAYNE IS BATMAN BY WATCHING THEM BREATHE UNDER STRESS, and you know... BROKE The Bat. But maybe that's on me? Idk. Like, don't get me wrong... I probably saw Talia having a plan in mind... but I don't think I saw the way it specifically went, and probably couldn't have come up with that if you gave me 1000 attempts.

Not just pinhead. Also Bruce Campbell was supposed to make an appearance as ash from evil dead in jason vs Freddy. Confirming Jason as a deadite. They even had the book from the Evil Dead movie in the 9th Friday the 13th movie to confirm it. But that got scrapped too. Along with pinhead.

Unfortunately, that happens a lot, characters and plot points seen as similar to a 'bigger' franchise, or at least one that hit the mainstream earlier are assumed to be inspired by said franchise, whether the first franchise had no connection to the second, or even, as is the case here, the second franchise inspired the first. That a journalistic site meant to know better made that mistake is... yeah.

@@Rockhound6165 I know, I make no argument of that, the point I was making is that people in the mainstream don't notice stuff like that, even some of the stuff that, for us seems 'mainstream' is still niche to them, so Thanos only really hit mainstream with the MCU, which is big enough to have hit mainstream, while Darksied is still not quite there, those who watched cartoons at the right age will know of him, but the general public don't, so they see the similarities, think 'well we knew this Thanos guy first' don't bother to dig deeper and assume Darksied is based on Thanos, not the other way around, as we know him to be.

What makers of Predator movies fail to understand about the original is that it's really a well-crafted action thriller about a team of mercenaries being manipulated by the CIA to do their dirty work...and then a f*cking alien shows up and starts killing everyone. In other words, you'd be watching this film even if the Predator wasn't in it- it's a strong story that makes way for another strong story, a sci-fi alien horror story that jumps into your military political thriller. The other movies often weren't as good until the Predator shows up, so you don't really care as much.

To add, and I guess this is controversial, as this is a beloved sequence, but the Moulin Rouge video release included a side by side video of the tango: one of the theatrical cut, and one of the dance filmed without the umpteen million jump cuts. It was nice to actually see the choreography. Our boy Baz does way too many cuts for my taste.

What gets me is she just goes straight into the side instead of at an angle so the most damage is done and the stomach or intestines are penetrated, which ensures death if no medical attention is received promptly.

I just assumed that the camera work during the WS fight scene was a deliberate stylistic choice--they were going for frantic: up until then, Steve had yet to find someone to go up against who made him have to pay attention/fight that hard.
