Hey Pete, have you ever thought of having Cailer Woolam on the podcast? It would make for a great interview since we haven't heard much from him in the past years. Also Dawson Windham would be very interesting to hear. They're both all round solid dudes. Keep up the good work man!

Yes, I absolutely have him on my short list. He is very relatable to me as he also seems to be winding down his career a bit due to injuries. We're not that far apart in age and I'd be curious to pick his brain about where his head is at after all of the adversity and what's next.

@@PeteRubish Yeah such a shame for his injuries, he had so much potential. He was a big inspiration for me to start deadlifting. I'll be looking forward to that interview!

Really been enjoying your interview style podcasts - the casual Zoom chats come across as natural and unscripted. You have a great way of talking to people and getting them to open up. It's interesting to hear your guests talk about their lives outside of lifting and go into more detail than you get from their IG posts.

I just recently saw an oldish video , about a year ago with Scotty talking to one of the bbing guru's. You were embarrassed to tell him what you ate and u still had visible abs. And when you coached people you would say I don't do diets you need someone else who understands all that. Now watching you interview people and talking about their favourite junk food etc. It's funny to hear people's favourite pig out food. I think you should look for a sponsor in the fast food industry or just get 5 cheese pizza sponsor👍, bugger supplement sponsors etc Abs with a protein drink and a bag of family size chips🤣🤣 You realise how many fat guys trying to lose wt wish they had your genetics, we have you desire for junk food and you talk about it so well. I like to see you have Lee Priest on and just talk about favourite junk food and things like the best post meal feed you've had that would have these bbing guru's in shock especially if they have a few guys a couple of weeks out and hearing you and Lee talking about you favourite foods. Anyway I need to work off some donuts 🍩 and listen to the rest of the podcast. Entertaining as always, Cheers, Dan🥞

Good stuff, Pete. I see you post clips that are about 10 minutes long before the full podcast, but have you considered posting even shorter clips after you post the full podcast? I see some other popular channels from various industries doing that. You could get more clips out of each recording and not spoil the full show, which might be cutting into your views. Maybe mix a shorter clip each day with daily thoughts, tips, whatever.

Yes Pete, but Shane also admits that he hit 804lbs on a deadlift bar in a gym setting on lbs plates, probably with straps too since it's a gym lift. Whenever (at least when it comes to me) I say that a 800lbs deadlift is not possible natty, what I mean is it's not possible in comp with calibrated plates on a stiff bar, no strap, fully conventional (or frog sumo), and completely raw ofc. Of course you technically can deadlift 800lbs natty, especially in a gym setting, but under the circumstances I provided, I don't believe it's possible. The fact that there is more than a 50lbs difference between his best natty gym DL and natty comp DL also shows why comp lifts and gym lifts shouldn't be compared. Also I feel like I need to point this out, but the 800 is not a hard number, I only use that because it's a convenient number instead of saying some shit like "A 813.445 deadlift is definitely not possible natty". The main point is that you probably start going into juicy territory somewhere around the 800 mark, it's not exactly 800 and will differ a bit from people to people, but that's about the ballpark.
