I'm just gonna put it on my back as a form of movement. Did you know it could do that too? It was discovered in 2006. Unfortunately when the music goes 'bah' goombas can hit me from above, and there's no known way to prevent this from happening.

It's also important to take into consideration the noises that the enemies or entities make after the note is played. The star bouncing noise and the chomp bark was rather distracting from the main theme.

@amazingfireboy18484 жыл бұрын
@@olulanaosibeluwo4183 While he DOES explain the progressive difficulty and how to use the main idea, he doesn't help with how to put things in a certain situation. Let's say your making a sky level about piranha plants in NSMBU. How do you introduce piranha plants? Half way into the level is a checkpoint. What situation do you spawn in? What will the bonus area be? How do you make a tough part with piranha plants?! These are the questions I want answers to.
@Kylin_Phoenix_Vartilo4 жыл бұрын
By this point, anybody playing SMM should know what piranha plants are, so I don't think a tutorial around plants is needed. If you want to introduce a really unique concept though, then first start with an easier version (read, very basic) and scale it up with your ideas as you go along. When it comes to difficulty, playtesting is very, very important. A lot of difficulty comes down to timing (jumps over a platform as piranha pants leap out of pipes) or precision (making just the right jump through a small gap between plants). Test around with how quickly you want the pace to be or how tight you want the jump by playtesting it. As for the checkpoint, I say that it ALWAYS needs to be in a completely safe spot. Say, a peaceful mushroom platform with blocks above it before leaping across piranha laden pipes. Finally, as for a bonus area, it should be either a path off the main road to reward exploration or it should be tough to get to. I'd say reward the player with a guaranteed powerup (cat suit, propeller shroom, fire flower). It'll help make the level easier as a reward for their troubles. 1-ups also work, though I say have them be complimentary most of the time.

Great tutorial as always, I hope it helps to generate more music in the game. I do have one thing I disagree with, adding something for the player to do it great like you said, but having a coin trail ruins the whole point. Rather than hearing the great music you made, all I heard was bling bling bling from the coin collecting. No real point to making a music level. Also you should have mentioned the creator can make their song longer by making use of the sub-world.

How to vote There are 3 main factors to levels: The main idea, the level design, and the progression. If you enjoy any 1 of these, it's a meh. If you enjoy any 2 of these, it's also a meh. If you enjoy all 3, it's a like. If you enjoy 0, it's a boo. Level design could use some work, but the main idea and progression are good. It deserves a meh in my opinion, but I'm usually wrong. Sorry for giving dum advise.
@Kylin_Phoenix_Vartilo4 жыл бұрын
Dude, this kind of thing takes actual hours to do correctly and it wouldn't even get a simple button click from a player? I feel like if it's not literal trash and clear effort is put in then it should be rewarded. If I spent 2 hours making the best burger I could and someone's like 'meh, the lettuce could be better' even though everything else is amazing then I'd be pissed.
