You can also input a short hop if you press two jump buttons at the same time, try it in training mode, press x and y together and I guarantee it will short hop

#11 - If you have a read on your opponent, you can save it for kill percent. Otherwise the opponent may not give it to you again. (e.g. down throw -> air dodge -> FSmash)

On short hops: they're much easier and consitant to execute if you push 2 jump buttons at the same time.
