For me it's the '89 Batmobile number one and the original '66 Batmobile is number two. I was born in 85 though, so this is my 'original'. I wouldn't say no to either of them! 🏎️

Casey Putsch built a replica using a Corvette chassis, and his uses a Boeing turboshaft engine that was in a U.S. Military helicopter at one point. It burned about 16 gallons an hour while cruising, and had a GM automatic transmission that had been modified to be manual shift only. The shifter is a B&M Stealth Pro Ratcheting Shifter, and it's a 4-speed. He sold the car at Barrett Jackson, but I don't know how much it sold for.

Still the most beautiful Batmobile on the silver screen! Still loving the intimidating "expression" of the headlights, the overall design and the subtle V8 burble under the turbine sound. And what about the protective shell deployment? Still convincing, as much as the T-1000 liquid transformations (just two years later). Thanks for another video about another beloved car ❤

Possibly, that car does look quite cool; it's just I have a real hard time watching those old shows with grown men running around in kids Halloween quality customs, lol. I might be able to look past that in sake of the cool car though; we'll see. Thanks

I don't like those cars in gloss black, the satin (actually color shifting) paint looked so much cooler. But I guess was hard to keep from getting scratched.

i had always read that the chassis and drivetrain was a modified full size chevy but the engine in the constuction photo looks like an oldsmobile when studying the valve cover.

it was actually created by using the chassis’s of 2 60’s model Lowrider Impalas and fyi, the body was actually bulletproof, because it was made from Fiberglass and Kevlar

Well, I find the original 60's Batman series VERY difficult to even look at with all the grown men squeezed into and running around in kid's Halloween costumes, but the car is cool though and people keep asking about it; so I may grin and bear it and do it sometime anyways if I can stand it that is. Generally where there's a strip of metal between 2 panes of glass would indicate it's a joint. My Land Rover Series 3 has a similar strip of metal down the middle (LR part No 336422) of It's 2 part windscreen, sorry, shield😉 It's just over an inch wide. Having driven Series Landies since 99, you quickly get used to it. A bigger distraction is the crap people have hanging from their rear view mirror...
