With the release of The Flash (2023) we now have two more live action Batsuits to add to our Batman film suit collection, giving us 16 different batsuits across 11 different Batman films, so in this video I rank the suits from the best to the worst.

It is correct to call that "Mecha"?. Iron Monger and Tony Stark's Hulk Buster are mecha Suits, but I think that is only a Bat-armor.

The Batman Begins suit looks more organic and intimidating. The thick cowl and the overall shell look of the suit makes it look more solid. The Dark Knight rises suit looks as if he stuck a whole lot of "hockey pads" in strategic places! Also remember Cristian Bale had more weight on him in the Batman Begins movie. So his look was more staunch and solid. In The Dark Knight Rises , he lost a lot of his muscle bulk to look more lean and agile .Sorry , to me Batman is built like a tank ,and not lean and shredded like Spiderman or the Flash. His physique is similar to that of Thor's and Superman.

My favourite batsuit is the returns one. It looks intimidating, but it also goes for simplistic armour as opposed to the rubber muscles. It has my favourite logo and the black looks really good on the suit. I’ve recently felt very divided on the yellow belt for Keaton, on one hand it really adds good contrast to the suit, on the other hand it looks goofy to me, in what way would anyone in reality wear a yellow belt. The new Keaton suit showed me what the suit looks like with a black and silver belt as an alternative.

I personally will never understand how some people prefer the Begins suit to TDK. For me they're night and day in terms of quality but it's interesting how everyone's different

I can totally see why people would prefer TDK but for me it’s massively over designed and loses the effect of a batsuit and just becomes robot armour with ears. I think begins has a good design (apart from the cowl) but it all gets lost in the single colour

TBH, I think the best thing Nolan did to Batman was to finish his trilogy and let other people play around with the character LOL but I am one of those who think the Begins suit looks better. For me, it's the logo, color and how he looks more menacing and otherworldly with that visual. TDK is legit over designed. Affleck's JL suit is a great example of how to do an armoured Batman. Snyder, as much as I hate every other aspect of what he did to the character, nailed the look. Matt Reeves did a great job as well. Given the context, I'd even place every pre-Nolan suit above Bale's suits.

@@Pepsi_Man_Max yeah, it's fun to talk about it and see how wildly different opinions can be! Besides my on preferences, I really take under consideration what the filmmakers were going for and how the suits relate to their surroundings. In my opinion, Schumacher is underrated and gets hate for no reason. By now, we shouldn't take his Batman too seriously. His sculpted suits are okay if we look at his neon metropolitan city with giant greek statues here and there. Like, the suit relates to its environment as much as Nolan's TDK suit relates to its Chigaco-ish take on Gotham (which I really dislike). Also, if you take a look, the Begins suit is almost the same as Clooney's ice suit, but all black. And I love the nightmare Gotham Chris Nolan built in the first movie and I wish he'd stuck with that. BvS is my favourite suit as well. Keaton is a close second and I love how The Flash updated it. My ideal big batsuit would have the Affleck texture and colour scheme, Begins/Pattinson slim body, Begins or Keaton's logo, Pattinson's belt and Affleck's jawline. I'm daydreaming lol I could spend all day talking about this subject. Sorry for my loooooong comments hahahaha

The Dark Knight suit was peak Batman for me. Maybe I'm a bit biased just cause I grew up with the Cristopher Nolan trilogy. The Arkham games and that masterpiece of a trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart.

I love the Dark Knight Suit. It would be number 2 for me. It makes so much sense to me. The regular Affleck suit is 1, and the Justice league final battle suit without goggles is my number 3.

As an early 2000s kid that grew up during that period and consumed a lot of 90s media, Keaton for me. I’m a sucker for Neal Adams’ iconic look and Keaton’s suit is basically the Neal Adams in all black. Also Troika Batman look in the comics which I’m sure took inspiration from Neal Adams & Keaton. That cowl and iconic yellow oval just screams Batman to me and is the first thing I think of. Plus Batman being in all Black is great. Keaton’s Batman in the Flash was moving quick and doing things you’d see in the Arkham games so it made the suit and Keaton look even greater. Like Batfleck too but he’s a bit too bulky and heavy looking for me which by proxy is my thoughts about the Frank Miller’s Dark Knight. I prefer my Batman to be more leaner than bulky. Greg Capullo New 52 and Neal Adams scratch that itch for me.

Michael Keaton has a classic look, the Val Kilmer panther suit was great but his sonar suit was so much better looking, and of course i love Batfleck. It's very similar to the animated versions of the characters with the grey and black.

I absolutely adore the Battinson suit. It’s in my top 3 favorite Batman designs of all time along with the Arkham Asylum game design, and the Justice League animated series design. To me the Battinson suit is just the best looking of all the tactical/armored designs, I love how sleek yet armored and protective the suit looks, and the mask shape and overall design is awesome. Something about the way it looks on the face makes him look more youthful, and Nirvana angsty like how Bruce is portrayed in the film. I also love the collar, because it adds to that vampiric aesthetic that Batman is associated with, and it’s something that could have easily clashed with the tactical look of the rest of the suit, but it doesn’t because the collar itself isn’t too distracting or over the top, but just noticeable enough to add a lot of appeal to the design. Also the first Batfleck suit being number 1, while I personally disagree, I have to say is 100% valid. It is quite an incredible take on the Dark Knight returns design of Batman, but for me personally I was never a big fan of that design. I’m personally just not a fan of the short bat ears, and wider bat logo, and ridiculously hulking body build, though it definitely looks more natural on film because it’s a real person, and not a stylized comic. But either way, I really can’t complain about comic accurate suits, so in that sense, that suit, as well as the final swing suit for spider-man from no way home are absolutely incredible. We definitely need more suits for superheroes in live action that look like they were ripped straight from the pages of the comics.

I understand this is all personal opinion but, I just don’t understand why people will rank the Batman forever suit at a bottom spot while keatons suit is a top 5 when they are indeed very similar suits. All black suit, a little stiff, muscles everywhere, standard boots, gloves, cape, and cowl. Really the only huge differences are the yellow on Keatons suit which does look nicer that way however, forevers suit does have better movement and the material looks a bit cleaner; so it has positives over the Keaton suit in some areas I just feel it’s unfair that people say “bat nipples” and it instantly drops the forever suit to the bottom cause that’s the main complaint I hear is “bat nipples”

As you say the main improvement on the Kilmer suit is the movement, it looks far more agile than Keatons. But I have issues with it, like I mention int his video, other than just the nipples. Firstly the loss of belt colour just makes it feel so much more boring and monochromatic. The other issue for me is it doesn’t really have an identity, it’s just like it’s trying to be a Keaton suit rather than it’s own thing. Keaton, Bale, Affleck, Pattinson - they all have a distinct suit feeling, but this Kilmer suit is just a fake Keaton suit and I think his sonar suit gives him more of a distinct vibe. And of course, the nipples are just bad, they do not belong on a batsuit and if any of the other suits had nipples they would end up lower on this list. It’s just bizarre, if they added them to a superman or spider-man suit I would feel the same way. While lots of people say, if you ignore the nipples it would be a good suit, at the end of the day it does have nipples and I can’t overlook them. And even without them, it would get higher up my list - maybe to above the flash Affleck suit, but it still wouldn’t get very high

I just feel that sometimes people will look at the quality of the movie (not saying you) and claim something like the forever suit to be bad while ignoring it’s similarities to the Keaton suit. In terms of them looking distinct from eachother like other actors portrayals; to be fair the movies are suppose to be the same continuity (which is kinda weird) so definitely is why they look similar in that regard I do have to say that I appreciate how you did acknowledge the similarities and I do agree Keatons suit has some positives over forevers. My point is just that they’re similar enough; which makes it odd IMO to put one at a bottom spot and the other at a top spot but, like I said it is opinion which makes rankings fun and I can see where you’re coming from. Personally I feel the Keaton suit looks better in terms of having yellow highlights while forevers exceeds in a better looking rubber quality and the style of the belt looks pretty nice. The sonar suit did indeed look pretty good as well like you said. Overall though IMO the true underrated suit here though is the Robin suit. Kept the classic comic accurate colors and design while making it look a bit more modern. Also love the reasoning as to why he calls himself Robin

My favourite is Batman 1989 it’s just pure classic and feels like Batman it’s intimidating It’s not too bulky like in the Nolan films and it doesn’t look as goofy and I do love the suit in returns and in the flash! I love Robert Patterson Batman suit that’s my second favourite and my third favourite would be Ben Affleck’s! My least favourite suit it’s unpopular opinion it has to be Christian Bale in the Nolan Batman trilogy.. it’s just not very creative it’s bland looking it’s goofy especially in Batman begins It’s just nothing about the suit makes it stand out.. the nose is weird and bulky goofy looking.. I know technically in Batman forever and Batman and Robin is worse suit versions but it’s hilariously bad I can make fun of it and enjoy it😅 Great video as always!

The reason they made a new suit in The Dark Knight was because Bale didn't want to go up to 225, like how he did in Batman Begins. He went up to 210, a more natural weight for him, and so they had to make a new suit. And might as well give some real world reason as to why the suit is different

The Batman in general is so overrated but lets talk about the suit. I like some parts, I like the simple metal cylinder’s on his gauntlets, I like how the bat symbol is modular and I love how the cowl and cape are made out of leather. But man too much detail, same problem with the Nolan suit, simple and bold is always better than complex and overdesigned. I also don’t like his cowl. I get Pattinson has a great jawline but they overextended the cutaway for the mouth to fit ALL his jaw in that whole. The mouthwhole should never cover all the jaw it feels like it’s incomplete, or like he’s wearing a cowl that’s ripped down the middle

I honestly don't mind the greek statue design with nipples. It fits the world around it. If anything, the alternate versions of Schumacher's suits are better than the main ones cause the logo set them apart from Burton's and the colour scheme makes them more striking, especially on Batman & Robin.

My mindset: He's a billionaire and the point of dressing as a bat was to scare criminals with theatrics. For that reason, I'm not a fan of the hyper-tactical/armored looks where they aren't warranted. If brought into the modern era, it would look fantastic. The Cowl and neck areas need some reinforcing so they're more rigid, and the fabrics should look like fancy kevlar. A $20 amazon purchase and some paint would make the belt 10,000x better. Finally, give it a longer cape. The Batman and Robin 1940s suit is included because it's the same suit remade, but all of its problems are worsened to the degree that the ears no longer share a zip code. I'm very partial to the iconic Grey and Black/Blue Look. I would LOVE to see a batsuit that's more legends of the Dark Knight in aesthetic, maybe with some shoulder spikes like the 80s suit or the flashpoint suit had. The heavily armored suits are ok for one-off situations where he's fighting a really dangerous foe (like a Justice League-level threat), but in cases like The Dark Knight and The Batman it just kinda ruins the aesthetic and theatrics.

IMO I prefer no armour to allow for a more stealthy/martial arts look but I prefer armour over the complete black suits which loses a lot of the design and would rather black and grey/blue armoured over no armour. I think armour is fine if it suits the world, TDK and The Batman are very realistic settings and so Batman can be a bit more armoured but in worlds that are more fantastical (like the snyderverse) it makes sense to have much more flexible suits which are still very strong

The Batman (2022) Batsuit is my favourite by far followed by Batman Begins (2005) and Batman (1989). The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Batsuit is too bloated.

That's what I love about it though, he's an absolute unit which is believable within the context of this film, he's built like a tank and moves much faster and much more coordinated than any live action batman to date, he feels like what a middle-aged comic/animated batman would feel like, and I really love a bulky batman and I think this is the right amount of muscle to mass ratio where in The Dark Knight Returns he's just kinda big

I agree with everything, except Afflecks suit. By far my least favorite one, the material looks like he‘s wearing a carpet, the huge logo looks like it was drawn with an edding and like he has to compensate something, the proportians make him look weirdly fat sometimes and it looks way too thick for agile movement. The only thing I like is the mask, the shorter ears look good and the jawline looks the best out of all suits. My favourite is probably Pattinson or Keatons from the burton movies.

For me personally, the best Batsuit is Ben Affleck's Batsuit from Dawn of Justice. It's perfect. He looks scary as shit too! Worst Batsuit for me is Adam West's Batsuit. The blue cape and cowl has always been bullshit and the only reason in ever existed is because people were taking a lot of acid in the 1960's. When has anyone ever seen a blue bat without acid being involved, lol? Besides that, it's just spandex. It looks like a grown man wearing a 10 year old's pajamas, and the guy would have been shot or stabbed to death his first night out.

I agree Affleck’s is the best but I disagree about West. It’s from a completely different era on a much lower budget with a completely different tone, sure the cowl kind of sucks but you are acting like it’s a serious take on the character. It is just spandex but so are many of the villains suit, it doesn’t matter if he can get stabbed because his villains don’t stab people. The suit fits in the fun campy world created. Also the suit is blue because the suit was blue in the comics at the time, the blue suit wasn’t invented by the series.

I find the silly, campy over-the-top shit on that show to be quite endearing. Change the blue to black and give him those little purple gloves. I'm there for it lol! I just don't like the blue. Even in the comics, I hate the blue. It's always been so weird to me. I remember being about 4 or 5 years old and thinking it was weird that Batman was wearing blue instead of black. When Batman 89 came out, I was fucking stoked, lol. Over the years I've grown less fond of the all black, and more fond of the gray and black... It was originally never meant to be blue. The blue was originally just meant to indicate light reflecting off black, that's why you could also see the blue in their hair. Then another artist came along and actually colored Batman's cape and cowl blue... I'm curious, man. What do you honestly think of the trunks? Yeah I agree I do prefer the grey and black the most, it allows more contrast in the suit while still feeling dark and gritty. But I do like that we have a few suits with blue and I wonder what colour they will go with in James Gunn’s DCU. Now the trunks are fine for 60s Batman as it fits the goofy tone but I don’t know if they can work for a more serious take on the character. I’m not against them but I find it hard to imagine. Now trunks for superman I think would work a lot better, as he is a more bright and hopeful character. One thing I would love for the new DCU Batman is the white eyes, it’s such an iconic part of almost every comic book version of Batman and we’ve now seen white eyes work for characters like deadpool, give us the white eyes!

@@CINEMAZE I hope James Gunn goes goes with the gray and black in the DCU. I think the trucks are very outdated. I don't think the trucks make sense with Batman at all. The can work with Superman, it just depends on the story behind the suit. I really like the idea of the suit being a Kryptonian garment. That's just how people from prominent families dress on Krypton kinda like how royals have certain things they wear. I've always hated the idea of Martha Kent making the suit for him out of the material that was in his pod. It's completely illogical. Bullets can't pierce it and knives can't cut it, but good ol' Ma Kent's sewing needle and scissors pierced and cut the material just fine? Come on now! lol. I don't think the Man of Steel suit will ever be topped. The detail in that thing is incredible! I want to see the whites eyes too, but I would like for them to look more practical that Deadpool's eyes look. I wouldn't want to see them move or anything like that. I see the white eyes as lenses in the mask that help Bruce see in the dark. Something I would love to see carry over from Affleck's Batman is the voice modulator. Bruce has all this high tech shit, so why would he use tech to disguise his voice. It makes more sense than grunting like Christian Bale did. His Batman voice was way over-the-top. Bale sounded like a person trying to shit out a basketball, lol.

100% agree with everything here. I think DCU should go grey and black but I think they might change it as The Batman is doing the grey and black look at a similar time. And yes agree the white eyes should be more like lenses and not expressive. The voice modulator is fantastic and makes so much sense, the Bale voiced has aged pretty badly and unless you sound like Kevin Conroy I think the voice modulator is the way to go (although I do like Pattinson’s and Kilmer’s bat voices) Agree about the kryptonian suit, I plan to rank the superman suits when we get our look at the new DCU suit but I don’t see anything beating Cavill’s. It remains comic accurate while feeling modern and realistic. I suppose the idea of Martha making the suit is kind of sweet and brings it down to the farm boy from Kansas but like you say it makes no sense based on the materials, and if Martha actually makes a suit it’s just going to look like a cosplay

I meant visually, looking at the two suits TDK is made up of smaller armour plates that together makes it look like it’s more armoured especially on the chest. Yes in universe the suit is actually less armoured to allow more mobility, but it doesn’t really look like that and has a more armoured appearance

i honestly don't like the suit you placed at number 1. The muscles padding is too much, makes him look too big and not of human proportions. also the material looks thick and rugged so as to act as some armour for batman, and that should hide the detailed msucles but the suit still details the muscles which makes the muscles look fakish.

They have a weird plasticky look, they have less colour and they have nipples. Thats everyone's go to talking point because its ridiculous, imagine if Superman or Spider-Man had nipples on their suits, its just plain bad. But I also addressed my issues with the suits outside of the nipples too

@@CINEMAZE I never been one to care or make a big deal about the nipples. I've loved anatomy and muscularity my whole love and was familiar with real world armor that emulates it. Plus if you look at the comic art Schumachers reasoning made sense, the costumes are drawn as if their painted on nude bodies. But beyond all that the suits improved with every film, returns was a huge improvement over 89, Schumacher is better than returns. How are they better, the material is smoother, they are better fitted to the actors which includes better proportions. Where 89 is dominated by his head the Schumacher suits are balanced and look natural, you already mention the functionality and they don't employ modified sneakers
