Kitty hawk 16/34 normally sweet. Trouble is that there isn't a runway into the prevailing wind and the sea breeze whistles thorough most summer days at 60 degrees off each runway. 28 is particularly nasty with rotor off the house and hangar. Just about 30 feet off the ground it all gets interesting...

I thought it was just me, you're right I've visited a few times and the wind has always been nasty.

Great video! I’m UT with 10 hours or so logged for my PPL (A), trying to cram a lot of theory in due to having surgery and not back flying as of yet. There’s an airfield near me in Scotland called Balado (grass strip) EGA5 which I think would be a great addition to the next series! Keep up the great content :)

Another good one Terry. Was based at Stoke Golding a few years back. Only comment I'd add is it could get soft in the middle after rain. Oddly this is the highest point and has once an ancient track run across it. It was also associated with the battle of Bosworth field, the road next to it is Roman, so quite some history there.

Great video, going to try a few of these in msfs 2020. Been looking for some small strips to do a tour round the uk. Big fan of the smaller aircraft, mostly the fox 🦊, started having lessons before covid in a small Icarus, from membury, great ultra light.

MSFS2020 is awesome for strips I did a little video of using them for real world flying here kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooqsfqaujNOqnKM it's from last year and things have only got better since then. Good luck with the lessons.

Tried and failed I found those trees to be very off-putting. They have a longer runway unobstructed but it's as rough as a ploughed field.

You've got to find a better way of explaining facilities! 2/10 means none we've discovered.. so what does 3 or 4 mean? Perhaps better to list them.. bog, tea, coffee, camping etc
@ShortField2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the excellent feedback Gwyn. I may have to rethink how I do these in future but what I'm trying to say is farm strips, by their very nature, don't have facilities and that is what you should be going for. If you want a nice cafe and don't want to get your shoes dirty go somewhere else. I was thinking uncut field 1 star, cut field 2 stars, cafe, posh toilets, and something good to do maybe 9 or 10, what do you think?
