@@andrewr681 did you notice a pandemic and a shortage of product? Maybe the price increases are due to reasons such as the supply route of the product from manufacture to the store shelves might be a little different and that stores themselves needed to purchase from suppliers that did not have the same cost agreement ? I would guess that every business wants their customers to return and continue to purchase from them again and that not all price changes are an attempt to steal but a way to afford to keep the doors open?

4:00 just because you can’t see the person covered in flour doesn’t mean they aren’t baking on premises I used to work at the great American cookie company (I don’t think they’re in business anymore) in the 90s. I usually worked with one person or by myself because it was a small square kiosk store in the mall (malls in America had them). Each morning I would enter the mall from a back entrance to our bake room, it was a large room with several ovens and I’d bake the entire days cookies there then transport them through a corridor into the mall. No one ever saw me covered in flour or saw an oven in our store but they fresh baked by me (us) daily.

I rarely post a comment, but after seeing this, they have got this so wrong its blatantly obvious they have no clue about any grocery store protocols and government regulations @ Cage-free eggs are misleading at best any animal is penned in some way shape or form other wise they would run away (duh) @ Water is added to meat to make it weigh more Water is never added in store to any of the meat products sold. water is and ingredient that is added to a marinade or sauce @ Items in the bakery may not be baked in store I've managed stores that have both a hot and cold bakery, in a cold bakery you order your daily inventory from a nearby hot bakery store within the same chain and it gets delivered daily, fresh.. with the new CFA guidelines this also has to be mentioned on the label as point of origin tracking. @ Impulse items like candy are always next to the register this is the only one they got right, and it's been done since the late 1800's having candy at the register @ Sale prices may not be such a good deal Stores in Canada are not allowed to raise their prices to then have them on sale the next week after, I'm pretty sure there is legislation regarding that @ Already cut produce is a total rip off the already cut produce is actually a failed program that just won't go away. it was originally designed for produced departments to still gain margin from damage produce. problem is because its damaged it's going to decay faster so when it put into packages it barley lasts a day before it goes bad, so we order in fresh produce to make the tray of cuts (value added) usually at or near loss in margins as after we pay for the produce, the packages and the labour to wash, cut packed the stuff.. people buy more for convenience then anything and they know its higher priced for that reason. @ Some grocers mislabel meat and charge more for it CFA rules would not allow any mislabeled meat products of any kind its a violation @ The most expensive items are at eye level The most expensive item are not at eye level.. the eye level products you see in grocery stores are paid for by the companies. it's considered the most desirable location so the price for the shelf height is high. @ Organic food may not be organic after all Again CFA controls all labelling requirements for this huge fines are given to companies who don't follow the rules. all farms that are organic in Canada also have their own set of rules / law to follow. @ The chips are next to the salsa for a reason I have a whole section of salsa in the Mexican isle in my store and it's nowhere near the chips. the salsa we do have next to the chips are the old dutch and fritolay brands. and it is this was because they don't want to pay the listing fee for the multiple shelf locations. next you guys wanna call out grocery stores for "tricking people" perhaps you should look at the food manufactures instead as they are the ones creating the products.

And unless you have a corer get the prepackaged we get all of our cut fruit in from an out side company and it temperature checked all the way to the shelf. When we cut it our self we had to refrigerate the fruit first before we cut it also we have to wash the fruit and clean and sanitize the cutting board regularly. In Slovakia in store called TESCO is a bakery right behind the shelfs with breads and others .well you can buy the bread what is from a factory wich is cheaper than the baked ones .but every morning there are fresh baked breads and others .they bake new everytime the shelf is not full.btw love ur channel

It may be true in some instances that the most expensive items are at eye level however shoppers should note that manufacturers PAY THE STORES for shelf space. This is the main reason why branded items are at eye level compared to the store brand.

hi guys here in uk sale items have to be sold for 28 consecutive days at the higher price prior to be marked down. the organic produce strict here too has to be certified and many ad hock samples taken secretly. talking about eggs.... we have caged, barn or perched (free but indoors intensive farm) and free range. free range are free to roam outside within a netted enclosure and indoors at night. unlike your eggs ours are not washed so sold ambient. the non washing uses the natural shell as a barrier. onced washed this is removed so has to be rerfigerated. either way works however everyone keeps eggs in the fridge dont they? would love see a vid you do on mechanically removed meat. keep well love the vids keep them coming ty guys !

Regarding that chips and salsa thing, when I was a kid and had my parents buy me the chip, I thought the salsa was included in it seeing how expensive it was... turns out it was wrong. The dip in the picture is merely a suggestion, not included. Now I just buy the dip and get locally produced chips for way less than what Tostitos or Lays is charging, even if they're not next to each other (usually they fall under the imported section. Locally produced chips have their own aisle)

I have two stores I shop at for groceries. Wal-Mart and Kroger. If I'm at Wal-Mart, I'll fire up the app for Kroger (or vice versa) on my phone and scan anything that I want to buy. Then I instantly know if the other store has a better deal, and if it's worth it to make the trip or not.

I stopped going to ''farmers'' market when I realized how much of the stuff they are selling is not local at all. They are buying the same stuff I can get at a better price at my local Safeway.

I look over and over at the products, even the nutritional facts. A few days ago, I run out of turmeric and of course, with the lockdown, they didn't have my favorite brand. They had other, I looked for one who says what was the composition and where it came from. It turned out that the Indian saffron, was not only the one claiming to be 100% but also imported from India. At the weight, the price was not much different. The others didn't say what the powder was made of. I usually buy the same food items all he time, so I know well when it's a bargain and when it's just no more than a few pennies less. I always buy salsa, but never chips to put it in my vegetable dishes as topping. I know where to look for them just by going where the chips are. One thing I never buy, no matter the price, it's nestle products.

Viewers: please keep in mind that we have different (higher) standards and regulations in European countries. The information in all of these videos don't apply to any European store-bought products. Furthermore, the problem lies in the (USA) food industry not the grocery store

In Australia, and I'm assume in alot of countrys, the eye level of your grocery/big chain store is based on the area the company's selling their products via that store pay, so major company's will pay more to have their products at "the eye level in a store" so its not the store itself putting the expensive named brands, its the ones paying for their products to be at a easy/eye level.

The chip dip is by the chips because most chips are vendor products and the vendors buy the space in grocery store. It’s more cost effective to add a dip rack to the chip shelf than it is to buy more space in a different aisle.

At one point in the uk some stores banned sweets etc being stocked around the tills as parents complained cause there kids always kicked off when they got told no, You should see what they do to chicken breasts, they put hundreds of them in what looks like a huge washing machine, pump water inside of it and put it on spin which forces that water in to the meat and adds the weight, prob simular process for other meats, And a even better suggestion about organic veg... grow your own as its the only 100% way to be sure its organic
