I just started snowboarding again and I’m sooooo excited about tricks. my first season I could barely ride off a side hit. This season my second day in and I’m already getting some big air and doing nose grabs! It’s amazing what having a dialed in board setup and some fundamentals practice can do!

Hello ! Did you change your setup in order to help you achieve that point ? I've been riding for years but always a week every year so by the time I got my feelings back I wanted to have fun and not practice more, you know, follow friends around the resort is more fun. Now I'm living near the mountains and I want to be able to have fun on side hits, flat and all, but I seem to catch edges even on presses at low speed... I was able to land small nose press into 180, even 360 on side hits before but I can't manage to reproduce after a big break... Thanks !

i'd add - learning to spin off any edge. eg bs/fs180 of toes & heels, switch & regular. this'll help with approaching jibs and giving different axis for spins on jumps
@ShredSchool13 жыл бұрын
Love it, Great advice! I think bs spins off the heels could be a bit beyond beginners though

@@ShredSchool1 that's fair. I just remember being able to get into downrails and downboxes better after drilling those. But you're right intermediate

wish I could've seen this before breaking my collarbone on a box. hahahahha. great suggested progression, however, I do find side hits quite more challenging than the XS jumps, sometimes the ride into them can be quite challenging.
@mmg486 Жыл бұрын
I agree. The side hits he was doing in the video had pine trees within a couple of feet of either side.

This is a very sturdy product with a sleek look. It was easy to put the bindings on the board. This was a gift for my son and he was able to use it right away and it worked perfectly. The boots did not come in half sizes so we bought it slightly bigger. It is a bit big for my son, but he got used to it quickly and hasn't had a problem snowboarding.

I’m on competition team and suck at switch while everyone is absolutely boss at it. This really stops me from being able to progress with 180s and most spin tricks which are essential in the park. But whenever I try switch I slow the entire team down from falling. Any advice?

You have to learn to be ok being uncomfortable and looking stupid. This might mean riding by yourself occasionally so the team doesn’t have to wait. Check out our how to ride switch video for more tips

Hi there! Is it possible to catch an edge on a metal rail while doing a boardslide or bluntslide? I am scared to death of this happening.
@ShredSchool13 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is absolutely possible, and it hurts! I am also scared of this often 😂 The trick is to keep your board at exactly the same pitch as the rail, keep a flat base, and try to turn your boardslide a full 90 degrees. It also helps if you ride a lot of rails to have dull edges. When riding a brand new board like I am right now, or if you have just sharpened your edges, it is a lot easier to catch.
@BlackMarketHoney3 жыл бұрын
@@ShredSchool1 Thanks for that. I can do it every which way on a skateboard, but underside of the concave offers so much forgiveness. Maybe I can detune an old board and practise until I have it on lock. Cheers!

@@BlackMarketHoney ive been a shredder for quite a while, It turns out that sharp edges will not make you cut edges on rails or boxes. Speed and confidence is key, its inevitable but more speed is going to reduce risk
