Having done both to a decent level I think the skiing being more hazardous stats are exaggerated in your vid. The stats are probably skewed bc skiers outnumber riders about 3-1. Unless it’s just bc beginner skiers are more likely to get speed before they learn pizza, but those collisions are pretty weak. My personal opinion I love both for different reasons but trying to be objective I do not think skiing is more hazardous to others due to the snowboarder blind spot issue esp for newbies and that it’s generally a less stable platform, you have one edge and generally must stay on one, a skier can control two and has a lot more stability options tbh. I would suspect in reality snowboarding in beginner stage is the more risky endeavor in general bc of equipment not releasing and edge catching being much more common. At proficiency levels I think they are really about the same and it’s really just a preference. People should ski as a default, unless they are called to board, then they should board, but they have to have some stoke to get through the brutality of the start.

There’s a reason buckhouse has exponentially more subs and views and it’s mostly because he’s a mature adult with a family that isn’t “angry”.

What’s actually badass is reviewing almost every snowboard equipment out there. Angry even reviews straps and highbacks alone, he gives recommendations in the comments all the time, he adds so much to the community and he’s right on his opinions about buckhouse.

I learned the hard way in my early 20's, my "buddy" said he show me, so he took off and rode for the day with his buddies. I didn't care at the time I was determined to learn and I painfully figured it almost (I nailed it the 2nd time riding). For anyone in this predicament, I'd recommend wearing some type of padded shorts with specifically a tailbone pad, and knee pads, elbow pads. Compare that to the cost of lessons, lessons may be worth it because once you learn, you don't need all that padding.

Nothing wrong with popping off a jump before ollieing off one. It's a lot more stable that way.

i'm reading a lot of people who got burton step on that would never go back to normal straps, and i agree, i got all kind of bindings but i just don't see the point to install them back on my boards, it would be a set back on responsiveness

I'm 43 and and I chose clew step in to help me. I don't get tired bending over especially when I'm up down up down on park or at the indie slope. I'm not hard core so it worked for me it's horses for courses as they say

I'm old and fat. Step-ins are amazing! I am also not a pro so no issues. I love my Clew bindings and I am just too fat and old to use regular ones.

I think that the 'use what the pros use' argument is a good one, especially if you're the type of rider who is advanced and wants to continue progressing.

Great tips. I wear a back protector under my jacket. It takes sooo much impact out of a fall. Also, replace your helmet if you’ve had some big hits to your head.

And they have setting settings unlike these. I qm rooting for them wince competition is good but i personaly am a little scared of them

Like everything having to do with Snowboarding Burton does it better. I have Step Ons with Photon Boots. The boots needed a Foam Shin insert because my ankles are so skinny. Once I got that my Heels never lifted at all. That being said buying Step Ons was the best thing I ever did to improve my riding. I live in Fernie which is Big Pow country. I never had any issues with getting the bindings to properly engage. I can’t wait to try them with the Hometown Hero I just bought. I’m 69 years old.

@iamthelaw6915 күн бұрын
Ollie off a sizable ramp is very dangerous and should not be practiced until you're really familiar with the ollie on flat ground first. Mistiming it means pushing the tail forward and landing on your hip or back, both are very painful. It's recommended to pop off a ramp first, even if it doesn't go as high.
