I have a navy trench that I bought years ago. I live in Texas, so we do not get a lot of just cool days either. That being said, I wear mine a lot some years and not at all some years. The beauty of a trench is since it is timeless I don't worry if I don't wear it for some years. Best investment I made.

I agree with you about wearing white. If it’s a good color on you go for it. I’m with you about button-down shirts. I’d rather wear a pullover shirt or blouse. I might try a pair of white jeans. I haven’t worn white jeans since my teens. Since I had cataract surgery I don’t need glasses anymore and I love I can get one or two pairs of regular sunglasses, polarized of course. Thank you for all the tips and tricks you share with us. As one “apple” to another they really help. ❤️

I loved the white dress on you but, unless I wore a sweater or jacket with it, I can't wear sleeveless. As a Plus Petite with an apple shape, I have found white blouses make me look wider, too. Thank goodness, there are so many other color choices for us!

Hi Cathy, thanks for this video, I enjoyed and agree with a lot of it! I like the advice on spreading the shirt collar to elongate the neck. I have a short neck too and 1 of the reasons why I stayed away from button downs and too structured and no give, but the top looks great on you, so def something to consider. I also wanted to share I recently bought fringe and short sleeve ponchos on chicos. it's not too drapey and thick, fig nice alternative to a cardigan. I saw the fringe one in the store and tried it on and it fell in love. It comes in green, fuchsia, black and white. I like the pop of color to add to a blah wardrobe, like you mentioned as well. I also bought some pull-on wide legged crops from talbots. Fig I'd share some finds in case it's helpful. Thanks again for modeling these beautiful outfits and suggestions. It's so helpful with being creative and not limiting yourself by wearing the same old thing over and over...I can pic you in the white dress with the scarf or denim jacket already! Happy spring!

But also like you, we often go from cold straight to you-don't-need-a-coat! But it's on my watch list! Such a cute white dress! You look so ready for spring and summer! I'm a dress girl too. So many sneakers are chunky and athletic. I miss simple leather keds. I did buy a pair of Rothy’s “washable” white sneakers ($150) Welll, they don’t wash. I wore them once in a dewy grass. Picked up dirt that stuck within the webbing.

Thank you Cathy. I’ve gotten new sunglasses, they had to go to specialized lab because of my very bad sunshine issues plus very bad eyesight 😢. I wore a polarized pair of white sunglasses that had become my trademark 😂 but now I wear pink ones and my new regular glasses are a deep pinkish/ maroon. Unfortunately I’ve gained back all the weight I’d lost so now it’s back to the battle of losing it again.

I live in the UK. I take my trench coat off when I go indoors, just as I would a heavy winter coat. I often wear my trench over a jacket or blazer, so take off the trench, but keep the jacket/blazer on.

Yes, where I live a trench coat is considered outerwear; however, I have seen some silk ones that I think could be worn as an indoor layer.

The cropped ones (hip length) could probably be worn like a blazer and worn indoors. Or a very lightweight metallic long one could be worn indoors as part of an evening outfit.

Yes Canadians get dinged with duty and HST and a brokerage fee, so it does add up. I wish that they would create a Canadian based website. I've contacted them so many times about this and they never reply.

I think everyone can look good in a white dress. I know people think dark colors are slimming and that they should avoid white but I think the fit of the dress is more important than the color.

Love the look of a trench coat, but I'm just not sure when I would wear it. It goes from cold to hot - with little or no spring. That cashmere scarf is fabulous - a little pricy, but it looks like the real thing and not a faux cashmere. I need to buy a dress for a wedding in Ontario in late August - haven't worn a dress in years - already fretting about it! Has to be a midi, as my legs are not the best - good shape, but too many veins! Looking good today!
