Mine is the thud of Han Solo in carbonite slamming to the ground. It just sets the tone for the rest of ESB. Having watched that in the 80s as a kid, it's still the moment that's the most emotional of the entire series.

whole of andor was just haunting. we think of the empire as this comically incompetent organization, but that's because we're seeing it through the eyes of the powerful jedi. to the regular people trying to survive, the empire is an absolute menace. people just disappear and never to be seen again to a fate worse than death. star wars need more shows like andor and rouge one to show just how strong the enemy is, so that the jedi/protagonists' triumphs can appear even greater.

idk. Han getting tortured and then frozen in carbonite terrified me as a kid. When he was lowered onto the scan grid and his screams echoed in the background as Lando talked to Vader, it was unbearable. And then the carbon-freezing chamber, with its mechanical claws, scared the s#!t out of me. (Aamazing sound design in the freezing chamber, by the way.) I'm still haunted thinking about it, even to this day.
@jregulatori46722 ай бұрын
Same here, I made a similar comment. The sound of the claw, the thud of the Han in carbonite slamming to the ground. Even the orange glow in the carbon chamber. I had some children's audiobook (that came with a vinyl record) of ESB and that single page showing Han in carbonite just haunted me.

Andor was so underrated I know many people have strong feelings about everything Disney has done with Star Wars but that show is fantastic it shows the Star Wars universe from a different perspective where not everyone is a super hero capable of doing the impossible
@ItsFreakinHarding.2 ай бұрын
Oh I feel you my friend! In my personal opinion Andor is one of the best Star Wars shows I have ever watched! Everything about it from the script, to the way the characters, like Andy Serkis character, were written, the actors portraying their characters especially Stellan Skarsgårds character Luthen Rael and his tricked out and heavily souped-up Fondor Haulcraft... man that was such a badass ship! After seeing his ship in action I wanted one so badly. And Luthens ship is my now #2 favorite SW ship beating out The Ebon Hawk from KOTOR games, next to the Millennium Falcon(#1)of course. And the special effects were just on point! They need more Star Wars shows and movies made and directed like Andor in the future. P.S. apologies for the long ranting comment though LOL!
@jintym29512 ай бұрын
Bix's interrogation in Andor is probably the SW moment I found to be the most harrowing/ chilling. Though definite honourable mention to Maul's capture by Ashoka, screaming out "Kill me!" because the thought of being handed back over to Sidious terrified him. This was a great top 10 obviously, these are just 2 other moments that live rent free for me 😅

Being a veteran. The most recent one was: "Spare any credits? Help a soldier get a warm meal?" 😢 Saw Garerra screaming with tears in his eyes, "SAVE THE REBELLION!.....Save the dream. Imwe marching across the battlefield with only the Force as his guide, while Baze was screaming at the top of his lungs for him to come back only to have him die in his arms, completely at peace. Baze arms his weapon, filled with conviction, and marches towards the enemy, reciting the very mantra his friend used for guidance. "I am one with the Force, the Force is with me." The greatest moment will always be the greatest 10 seconds in movie history. The Rebellion is about to fail. Vader has lined up his shot in the trench of the Death Star, the mercenary pirate who only cares about his monetary reward has rode into the fight like a one man calvary screaming "YEA-HOO!" Obliterating the Empire's defense and saving his comrade at the final second with a move not even Yoda could've seen. Exclaiming, "You're all clear, Kid. Let's blow this thing and go home!" That one act of selflessness saved the Rebellion and crippled the Empire. Like a helicopter gunship flying overhead to save the day. It choaks me up every time.

I had never seen all of Clone Wars until Season 2 of Mando came out. So I wanted to know more about Ahsoka because I didn't know a lot about her. So I had watched all 7 seasons in a couple of months. And when I came to the end I was working midnight shift. So I'd come home watch a few episodes before going to sleep. So on January 6th, 2021 I had the final 2 episodes left. I went to sleep, missed all the chaos that happened with the insurrection at the Capitol. Caught up with it while I was at work only to come home, obviously disheartened about what happened in my country only to come home and watch the final 2 episodes and Order 66 happen to Ahsoka and Rex. To this day, I want to go back and watch the saga with Maul on Mandalore and the subsequent fallout of that, but I can't bring myself to do it because it brings back all those emotions I felt that morning. Don't let anyone tell Star Wars isn't political, it always has been. George knew and I'm thankful for the Disney deal to bring us some of the greatest emotional moments in the entire Star Wars catalogue.

I will die on this particular hill, but for me the moment in _The Rise Of Skywalker_ when Rey unexpectedly destroys a transport ship with Force lightning *and thinks she has killed Chewbacca* is one of the most shocking scenes in the whole saga. As a potentially game-changing rug-pull, it's up there with "I am your father" as what should have been a pivotal moment around which everything would change. Daisy Ridley's acting was never better than in that moment and the immediate subsequent scenes, effortlessly conveying a mixture of shock, despair and fear. I remember sitting in a suddenly silent cinema wondering what the hell would happen now. Would her friends rally to her in sympathy or come to abandon her out of fear? Would she abdicate her responsibilities and throw the Resistance into disarray? Would she perhaps even exchange despair for anger and begin an inevitable turn to the Dark Side? Where did this movie go now? Alas all of this went out of the window literally *100 seconds* later when it was revealed that Chewie wasn't on the transport, and my heart sank. From that point on, nothing in the following scenes that played with the idea of a darker path for Rey mattered because we knew it was only a matter of time before she'd be reunited with Chewbacca and the great reset button would be pressed. It pains me to this day that such an opportunity was so badly mishandled. In some ways this moment is a microcosm of the sequels as a whole; repeated attempts to do something different or surprising followed each time by a fumble, a failure to follow up, and a sad and safe retcon into mediocrity. Although I saw all but the very first _Star Wars_ movie in theatres I'd always managed to have most of the big twists spoiled for me (even *that* Luke/Vader one) so for me this was the first time I'd felt that sense of shock that other fans must have felt when Vader made that revelation beneath Cloud City. Those fans got a lifetime of nostalgia out of their moment. I got 100 seconds of gut-punch followed by crushing disappointment and a lifetime of eye-rolling and posting explanatory screeds into KZbin comment threads. Thanks, JJ.
