Marcus Aurelius was a philosopher as well as an emperor. That is why he has been referred to as “philosopher king”. He proved to be a great emperor, and was also considered among the ‘Five best emperors of Rome’. He has written a book, called “Meditations” which is a collection of his philosophical reflections. Marcus Aurelius is considered to be the LAST of the ‘Five good emperors of Rome’. He was not only powerful but also wise. He faced many challenges during his reign. There was chaos everywhere, but he was able to maintain ‘Pax Romana’, a period of peace and stability.
