I was 9 years old when I saw Escape from New York in the theaters. And have seen it a couple of times on cable since then. It is a very awesome movie. And very very memorable. And Snake Pliskin is an awesome character. The sequel, Escape from LA was ok...could have done without it.

Get the firestick. A search on it will even give you hulu, netflix, Apple, hbo options etc. For me firestick is a godsend. My firststop to searching for any show or movie.

I was also having a little fun with the Starship Troopers title too, which had the original and two sequals. Though it still begged the question; which one would someone be getting slapped over?

The Abyss is easily one of my favorite Sci Fi films of all time. That being said, the ending was a little vague in the studio release. The film made MUCH more sense with the Director's cut, actually explaining WHY the aliens aliens came to earth.

I'm a huge abyss fan myself and I enjoyed and respected the directorscut for more resolution. I prefer the theatrical ending. The film has so many similarities to 2001 story and visually that I like its less clear cut message

I have always loved Escape from New York. I had the pleasure of meeting the wrestler, Ox Baker, at the restaurant I managed. He was such a wonderful person! He'd constantly be interrupted while he ate his dinner. He ALWAYS treated his fans kindly, signed all sorts of merchandise and even carried his headshots with him for these occasions. He never appeared frustrated or upset at his dinner being disturbed multiple times. If you've gotten this far in my comment Google Ox Baker on Price is Right. It's tv gold!

Maximum OverDrive was one of my favorites when i was a kid. Big Rigs, Explosions, AC/DC sound track and a great Steven King plot. i think its was a prediction for when the self driving cars decide to revolt... also RoboCop was one of the best movies from the 80's incredible movie.

Time Crimes is one of the best time travel movies I've seen this side of the millennium. Well, Predestination was awesome in its own way too, but Time Crimes definitely doesn't take itself seriously, and it's hilarious and dark in all the right ways and still gives out a solid time travel movie vibe. Highly recommend it!

Darren I just saw a movie on Amazon Prime called "Archive" which was phenomenal! It's Sci-Fi really well done plus it has a plot twist I totally didn't see coming!! Amazing movie IMO, best of the year so far 5/5 stars. Check it out.

I can't find any reference to back this up, but when Leviathan came out I heard that it was actually connected to The Abyss. Something about somebody/group didn't like the direction of the Abyss was going and I think something about the budget and/or release timeline, so they wound up leaving the project and did Leviathan instead.

Escape from New York has already been remade in a fashion. 2012's 'Lockout' (starring Guy Pearce) is basically the same story but set in space. The story is so similar that John Carpenter took it's screen writers (including French director Luc Beson) to court over it and won!
