Malay.. Malay is synonyms for islam and islam is synonyms for malay.. Because at Malaysia mostly Malay is muslim.. And not only malay is muslim.. We have Chinese and Indian who is muslim too... I think it's like only Malaysia has the federal regulation about marrying spouse a Muslim... and turning every spouse of the other regarding a male or female into new Muslim... Once ago I thought Islam make all the Muslims behave that way in worldwide scale but I asked Indonesian Muslims who worked in Malaysia and her answers are still shocking to me till this day! And I told her about how Malaysia work on the marrying Muslims terms and conditions it's quite like getting 'Huh?' in the Indonesians' eyes... well, they did told us that according to their Islamic teaching it's better to choose a life partner with the same religion though.

@@jonmartindeiii962 Hi Joan.. I'm Malaysian and I'm muslim. Fyi, each religion in this world, have their own rule right? So do Islam was. That rule its not the dark side if you believe the religion. The point is no matter what, you have to follow the rule. Choose to have relationship with muslim, its mean you are ready to step another level in your life. We don't push anybody to take that 'dark side'. If you want take that step, you are most welcome, but if you can't, you should accept that there are others believe.✌

Malay language has been influence by a lot of other languages because it used to be the most busiest city port (Malacca) in the world since 1400s as it located in between India and China. Very strategic place. Quite sheltered area, shallow waters but allow ship to dock and no natural disasters (like earthquake and hurricanes). Hence the melting of languages. Also, it was a lingua franca (a widely used language just like English today).

This is a problem why I don't prefer having foreigners introducing Malaysia to other foreigners, because they tend to spill misleading information yet emphasize on its importance. I am sorry but the constitution of Malaysia most definitely do not claim ALL MALAYSIANS's races as Islam and Islam only. That only applies to the Malays in Malaysia and not every single Malaysian.

I want to add something. Malaysia and Malay are two different things. Malaysia is our country's name. and Malaysian is our nationality. but Malay is a race. We have multiple race is Malaysia; Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous and others. There is no law stated that if you are Malay, you must be a muslim. Let me tell you a little bit more facts about the Borneo side of Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak). Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia and we have 2 official languages which are Bahasa Malaysia and English with no official religion. Besides, Muslims in Sarawak are actually allowed to convert to other religion. Also, beside the 3 main languages, we also have our own state language which are, Bahasa Sarawak & Bahasa Sabah. Plus, passports are required for Malaysians from West Malaysia to enter Sabah & Sarawak. I'm getting a little bit tired for typing so much so last but not least haha, the relationship of Borneo & West Malaysia is similar with England & Scotland.

In Malaysia learning Bahasa Melayu and English is a must. And Chinese people have to learn Chinese, Indian learn Tamil and Malay learn Arabic. In our government secondary school or we can call them High school we have a period call ACT which is Arabic, Chinese, Tamil. We all can speak more than one languages. I'm Chinese Malaysian😄

For info, it's Bahasa Melayu not Bahasa Malay. Malay is one of the big race in Malaysia other than Chinese and Indian.

Could you react to anything from the Netherlands? It's also super multicultural, and I think a lot of people would love to know you and your videos. There's usually a large dutch population watching reactions like that, and then sticking around for other stuff they might so on here:)

@@BrianLeeSH Depends on what you like, if you like humor, go watch ''America first, Netherlands second'' it's a satirical/humor video that makes fun of Trump, without actually being that dividing. It seems everyone likes that one regardless of politics. But if you like to learn about the Netherlands, I would suggest the Geography now video (for basic level knowledge), or the video ''Why The Netherlands Is Insanely Well Designed '' by OBF for more original content. Or even more original/in-depth, the channel Not Just Bikes. The maker of that channel has lived in the US, Asia, in general, just soo many places. And he explains why certain aspects in the Netherlands are so good and why walkability/livability is so important. It's mostly city planning subjects, or things like daily life, so a bit nerdy perhaps. But still, he is the reason why I started studying mobility&spatial development:) Sorry for the long reply! Love that you responded & hope you have a great day :3
