Awesome video! I am Brazilian and I am very, very proud of being of Portuguese descent. It is amazing how the Portuguese have influenced the world. I have been to cities/towns built by the Portuguese in Thailand, China, Malaysia, Uruguay and Brazil. I think due to a lot of ignorance, Brazilians tend to overlook ( or not look at it, at all) Portuguese history. Things is I am a product of these amazing people. My family's been in Brazil for 3 to 8 generations depending on the side, yet I took a DNA TEST and after all this time 52% of my genetic makeup is IBERIAN, when the Portuguese today average 30%. (although I've seen some that get 70%).Not to mention the other things that make up the Portuguese DNA which has also showed up ( Italy, "Celtic", Jewish, Middle Eastern and North African...I got it all). That's how much Portugal has influenced Brazil. I absolutely love it there. I am about to go back there this yr to film a series on it. It will be my 28th time. Can´t wait. Awesome video! XOXOXO

The “O” in o Porto is the masculine article for “the”. In português, when you reference certain places in Portugal and Brazil, you must include the article. For example, o Porto, o Brasil, o Rio de Janeiro. When speaking português, these 3 places are given special respect and thus you need to include the masculine article “o”. Hope this is helpful.

In fact the Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language in the world, and the name of the city of Porto has absolutely nothing to do with the name of the country Portugal, so these facts mentioned in the video are incorrect. An interesting fact is that Portugal is really the oldest country in Europe, with its borders unchanged since the last conquest of the Moors. Another is that the Tea of the 5 was taken by the Portuguese to England, and that the Japanese "tempura" was also something that the Portuguese culture took to Japan, just as the word "Arigato" is a derivation of the Portuguese word,"obrigado" that means "thank you"... soo... yes Portugal is really interesting

Actually, Oporto is the official name in Roman times, not only is it recognized by Spain, but other nations worldwide, such as Italy, Greece, Romania, France, Germany ect. In fact, I think that only Portuguese call Porto, Porto Same with Azores, we call it Açores, but the rest of the world? Seems pretty obvious. :) Cheers mate.
