2 years ago I watched this video and I dreamed about getting sober. I was drunk while watching it. I used to drink every single minute of the day. I would average 750ml of vodka, every single day & at my worst more than 2, 750 ml’s. I can say I was a full blown alcoholic by 21. I was so jealous that he was able to quit so easily. My journey wasn’t nearly as easy but last week I was 1 year sober!!! THANK YOU FOR CONVINCING TO STOP. MY LIFE IS 10000% better and everyone reading this can too. I LOOK BETTER, stopped doing stupid things, every morning I wake up ready to start the day, my mind wasn’t as foggy, I started winning with money, my sex life is better, etc. I have a million reasons to never drink ever again. **EDIT, I’m now 2 years sober as of June 19th! You can do it too!

I’ve lost my fiancé and I can’t explain how dark and hopeless I feel. I hope that in time I can say what everyone else says. That life is so much better. Wish me luck

@@sebz1390 hey bro, I promise it’s possible. PLEASE seek professional help if you think you can’t do it alone. I remember I used to drink because I was depressed, but I was also depressed because … I drank. 3 pints is a lot and I’m sure you’re tired of always being hungover, doing stupid stuff, always wondering when (and where) you’re going to get your next drink. Withdrawals are something serious and if you experience any, contact someone! There’s medication out there to HELP you! I promise in due time getting sober will be the best thing that ever happened to you. Take everything a day at a time. I used to drink alone, I just enjoyed being drunk. It almost cost me EVERYTHING, including my life. 2 Dui’s, countless car accidents, friendships, relationships, opportunities, jobs, family… Now I have a great job, my own car, my own house, everything I ever dreamed of! && I say all this to say that YOU can do it too! How does one even try heroin when you know it's a hard bad drug, fucks with your whole life, and have to use a needle, foil and/or spoon? Unless you're going through a really bad time or doctor prescribes you some opioid, you crave for more then look for dirty solutions. That's why there's weed and alcohol.

@leif75395 жыл бұрын
I was incredibly shy growing up and alcohol helped me break out of my shell in college and make friends and date women I never thought I would have had the chance to date as I had trouble even looking at most women in the eye. Numerous people have told me over the years that they liked me more when I drank. It's a crutch I always felt I needed in social situations. Last year I went four months sober after noticing myself going into darker places of self harm after a night of heavy drinking and going home alone. I resumed drinking this year thinking that I had exorcised those demons but after a run of bad luck this summer it's all come flooding back. So I'm ready to go back on the wagon...permanently. Tired of the crutch. Tired of the mood swings. Even if it means losing friends by not going out as often and being more quiet when I do go out. And instead of going home drunk and being left with those dark thoughts...pop open a good book and immerse myself in another world.

I know how you feel, people also keep telling me, I'm more fun when I drink... it's annoying...makes me mad in hindsight. I am 29 and still shy and introverted, but I found 2 supplements that are helping me a lot. Besides alcohol, caffeine used to also help me be more social and have more energy, specially working as a cook and as a server, but the effect didnt last too long and the social anxiety that I got after was horrible, so I quit caffeine too. Caffeine gave me acne anyway. The two supplements i found that have been helping me are vitamin-b12 and iron, but also try to reduce the time on your phone screen or computer at least when youre in public. I have noticed that screen time affects my eyes and anxiety a lot. I am taking L-theanine too, but I think the biggest difference was made by the vitamin B-12 and the iron. I tried the L-theanine on its own before and I dont feel like it made that much of a difference on me, but some people do swear by L-theanine, so I suggest at least trying it. For L-theanine, try 200mg if 100mg doesnt work. If youre on caffeine, I strongly suggest quitting it. I know, its hard, and its not fair that other people drink 3 or more cups of coffee every day and they dont get anxiety or skin problems. I had been drinking coffee since I was a little kid until this year, I am 29 years old. I love the taste and how it puts me in a good mood and makes me more alert, but the anxiety it caused afterwards is not worth it for me anymore. I just wasnt sure quitting coffee would actually help because it does make me feel really good for a while, so I thought the anxiety was just the regular me without coffee. I guess I was in denial because I loved coffee so much. Its going to be hard, and no, the withdrawal doesnt last only 2 weeks, maybe for the headaches, but you wont feel a hundred percent you until at least 2 or 3 months after you quit, and for some people it takes even longer, 6 months to a year, but you will feel a little better every week. I have been 5 weeks without caffeine and I can tell you it is worth it. By the way, preworkouts have a lot of caffeine, unless it explicitly says that its stimulant free or caffeine free. Check the ingredients on the label, they all have caffeine. And those things like G-fuel and other stimulants for gamers also have a lot of caffeine.

Good luck to you! I hope you can stay off of it. Depending on how much, how often, and how long you have been drinking, it can take several months for the withdrawal symptoms to go away. Things such as panic attacks, heart palpitations, and general anxiety are the usual symptoms. Those will eventually go away. In the end, you will feel a whole lot better. It's best to never drink again, not even small amounts. It's a great idea to also stop caffeine completely also, if your aim is to feel as good as possible and be able to sleep properly.

Trouble with even a little drink is that its highly addictive. Most people drink to escape from stress or have a laugh so it becomes a viscous circle. It kills the mind which we need so much to make wright choices in this crazy world.

YES. I've been experiencing all this and more since I quit drinking 3 weeks ago. I used to just accept that every day I was going to wake up feeling like shit, dehydrated and tired throughout the next day, as if it was something I couldn't control! Now, waking up early and feeling great is like receiving a gift every day first thing in the morning. I also love knowing that I'm NEVER going to make an ass out of myself again the way I used to when I'd get drunk. There are about 100 other things I'm grateful for now that I've quit, but I'll just say that I feel like I've broken out of my own self-imposed imprisonment and I'm finally free.

I've been drinking heavy since the age of 15. I can't just go out for a few beers, I had to get plastered. How I got away with it for so long is astonishing. But in Feb 2018 I got very sick because of the alcohol abuse. I was 18.07 stone when I was admitted to hospital. Two days after I was discharged I began to exercise, light weights. Today I am 14.07 and sober. I am 60 year's old and pray I can enjoy the rest of my life sober. If I can do it you can do it too.

Congrats staffy! I too was hospitalized in feb 2018 - for my birthday no less - due to decades of alcohol and the poor eating decisions made afterward. I dropped 40 lbs - intentionally - by May. Just ate correctly and had zero alcohol. It worked. Felt so amazing, bright, clear, focused, energetic - all of it. Then I had a thing and suffered a setback and I caved and drank again. I’d say I’m consuming about 1/5th to 1/4th of what I used to drink but still my clarity and energy is zapped due to drinking once or twice a week. On June 10, I’m quitting it all again. At my age, I need to focus, drive, and determination to make it to retirement and beyond. And I don’t plan on taking alcohol there with me. Thanks for sharing your experience bud.

Me too. I had 2 drinks and my husband got drunk at our 1 yr olds birthday party. It should've been a happy time, ruined by alcohol, just like the end of our wedding. My husband sometimes gets nasty when he's drunk, he's been verbally abusive to me and my 12 yr old son. It has to stop now, I'm disgusted by alcohol. Fed up, I flipped out on him at the party, told everyone he was drunk and flagged, then he threatened divorce because nothing makes him nastier than being called out when he's drinking. Most of the time he's the sweetest, funniest, most amazing husband. I'm NOT gonna let alcohol ruin our life. I cant control him but all I can do is stop drinking myself cuz I've been drinking too much too. Good luck and God bless you on your alcohol free journey as well.

can i ask you what your motivation was to quit drinking.
@postalpancho7 жыл бұрын
thewewguy8t88 I drank because I wasn't living up to my life expectations. I went back to school and stopped hanging out witg people that drank. I really just keep myself so busy that I don't have time to drink. I work full-time and am studying to be a physical Therapist. Also staying close to loved ones is a huge help. Keep people close to you who don't let you drink and tell them to hold you accountable. It was very hard for me to stop and don't be discouraged if you fail a few times. The main tip I recommend is just to avoid thar first beer and avoid people who encourage drinking. Hit the gym and stay busy. After a while that urge to drink will die down. It will never go away but over time it is easier to say no.
@thewewguy8t887 жыл бұрын
oh okay for me its a mater of i want to drink i drink i do not want to drink i do not drink although if people offer me a drink i wont say so no. but that does not happen too too often and even when someone does offer me a drink too often in the span of a few days i end up saying no.

I can say that I made a good decision because I go through problems like any other person but it seems to me that being an alcoholic only adds to you're problem's. I also believe that a man should have a code and me not becoming another Indian drunk is one I'll take for as long as I can in my life.

I can relate. I used to work in a medical marijuana dispensary as a manager. I smoked mmj (never cigarettes) for about 8 years since I was a teenager and I had been drinking for about a year on a daily basis. One day, I woke up and realized I felt like crap and didn't feel anything without mmj or a drink. That same day, I left work early, threw away all of my mmj, glass pipes, accessories, and poured my alcohol down the drain. I quit that job the next day. I couldn't stand the smell of it anymore, it's like a switch flipped. My body was speaking to me and I listened. Now, just a year later, I run 5-10 miles per day, drink only water, tea, and black coffee. I'm more fit, 10 times more successful in my career and I feel 100 times better. My wife has a drink a few times a week at home, but I'm never tempted to partake because I feel better being stone cold sober than I ever did on drugs or drinking alcohol. Having not gone a day without mmj for 8 years and finally getting through the first couple of difficult weeks of quitting, sobriety was the only high I needed. I feel more, I see more, and most importantly I appreciate everything in my life and in the world more.

Not sure if I'm even addicted to it really... beer with family and friends when get back from work is just always what I've done. Eat healthily and exercise, so not exactly out of shape, but know cutting back would make a massive difference for sure.

I'm almost a month clean of alcohol. It's not been easy. I asked my wife for as much support as she could give me. She's been nice but firm. Any time I feel that temptation and ask or even think about drinking out loud, she says no and tells me to think of it as pure poison and disgust. It's starting to work. It's still hard though. I realize, that when I stop making excuses to drink, it's so much easier. I also had the realization that I can have fun without getting drunk or drinking. I've also stopped looking for excuses to drink. I used to plan my week around drinking. I put drinking before my wife but refused to admit it. I'm very grateful for her sticking with me. She's been nothing but supportive. I can't wait until I'm a year clean. I'll be very very proud of myself

Rude, and emotional abused me for no reason. Since then been 6 months he stopped though was going to be happy then he had this strong moods he was like a tornado I felt like I was walking in an eggs shell I was so confused 🤷🏿♀️ up until i sat him down that we need to involve professional who then advices us . Shortly the moods swings was because of alcohol withdrawal gradually he came out of it and he goes for a run every morning we communicate more better now his confidence is back we don’t argue much . Finally I’m having peaceful weekends. Been 6 months now . Congratulations guys it hard I know but keep going

Glad to hear you quitting alcohol and chewing tobacco.. The best thing you could have done for yourself and most probably contributed to you ability and perseverance to create "Alpha M." as a KZbin channel, as well as your other businesses... I smoked for 9 years, and smoked marijuana for more than 20.. When the cigarettes took its toll physically, psychologically, and financially, I used marijuana to quit tobacco cold turkey.. AND IT WORKED.. And when the same happened in regards to marijuana, I quit cold turkey as well.. Although it took a few tries with the marijuana.. The best thing I could have done for myself.. Because of that, I'm able to cycle 5-6 days a week in the warmer months, each ride about 38 km's, and cutting 50 pounds so far.. That is still a work in progress though that is continuing this spring to cut another 20-25 pounds.. There is NO WAY I could have done it while smoking cigarettes and marijuana.. The tar was just too much, restricting the oxygen flow, which is how you lose weight.. One step at a time, Aaron, and I'm glad to say you are one of the people helping me personally on my journey.. I'm sure countless others too..

@TubeDeviant8 жыл бұрын
+Ray Lopez Hey man. Glad to hear you trying to break those bad habits.. Before I give some tips, I have to say, you have to WANT to do it.. No one can make you do it.. So you have to dig deep inside yourself, make a plan, and constantly remind yourself why you want to makes those changes in your life when times get tough.. In regards to cutting, it may seem overwhelming at first, but you have to take everything into account.. You need to start tracking the calories you eat, try to cut out liquid calories, including alcohol, eat more fruits and vegetables, start exercising (find something you actually enjoy, otherwise it won't become a habit..), make sure you're not eating too much sugar and sodium, make sure you're getting a good amount of sleep and a good quality of sleep as well.. Exercising helped turn my stress, anxiety, and depression around 180 degrees NATURALLY, so exercise is very important.. Stress drives up cortisol in your body, which promotes fat storage, that's why it's important.. Another thing is weight lifting.. Although I have to say, I haven't started lifting yet.. Building muscle will raise your resting metabolic rate.. Just take things slowly, making changes that you can handle.. If you can cut out all the alcohol, I'm pretty sure you will lose weight, without doing anything else.. But if you cut out the alcohol, eat more healthy, and exercise, you will see drastic changes and see good progress in time.. Be PATIENT.. Give yourself room to have cheat meals.. And be CONSISTENT.. It may take a year, it may take longer, depending on what you do.. Do what you can without overwhelming yourself so it doesn't feel difficult.. My journey has taken longer than I would have liked, but my diet isn't the cleanest and I don't lift weights yet..

I quit a monster of a weed habit , and when I say monster I mean it , smoking it wasn't enough for me I was so conditioned to it , I was eating whole buds raw and smoking oils and resin down on top of that . First thing in the morning a joint , at least 20 more through the day and then last thing before bed , holding a bloody good job down while doing it , god knows how lol . Then weekends proper flat out all day and night . Hardest thing was saying goodbye to my dealers and weed smoking buddies , we had done loads together apart from weed . We had seen Roger waters perform dark side of the moon live , been on holidays , new years trips ..etc etc . But I had to say goodbye lads , fortunately they understood and held no grudge , they could see my choice and respected it . Then...well ...My god the withdrawal symptoms were horrific , don't let anyone ever tell you that stuff ain't addictive and has no withdrawal symptoms .Some nights spent tearing the house apart desperate to find a little bit forgotten or left somewhere . The sweating went on for two weeks , the dreams were wild when I could sleep . 45yo now haven't drank or smoked for 10 years .

Binge drinking is actually worse and more dangerous than someone who drinks daily but not to excess. Alcohol is toxic in high amounts in the body, it's harder for the liver and brain to cope with large quantities of alcohol, than it is small regular amounts. They say the best way is to stick to your daily limit, and always have 2-3 days between where you don't have any alcohol. That allows your body to cope with alcohol fine. Some people make the mistake of thinking the "alcohol units" system (3-4 a day for a man) means if they don't drink during the week, they can add up all those units like "drink credits" for the weekend and drink in one go!
