Wow never thought about this many purposes of a stick. The extension for the saw is also a great idea for our bushcraft adventures. Keep up the vids, we like them a lot 😀

It was for this channel that i started to take a staff to my walks. And i like it. I really think it absorbs all the little stories and adventures that i encounter. Thank you Pethyr from Germany, Dirk.

A few more things. It is amazing to help you get up when falling in deep snow ( I live in Canada). You can also knock down high hanging fruits. Wrap rope around it to be used for hanging food away from bears and other animals, make shelter or tie-up a Sasquatch when you find one, and other things of course. Tie your knife at the end to make a spear. Thanks for the vidéo.

I have inherited a 4' long over an inch thick oak closet rod, which has been my constant companion on my outdoor adventures for decades. It is my balance aid, my bindlestaff for making carrying my stuff easier, my fire tending tool, and my preferred means of close in personal defense against anything i expect to find in the woods. It has served me well It has earned the names "Archimedes""thunk" "be cool!"" and "coyote bane" at various times for very good reasons.

@@Pethyr.Vandrar Camping alone in rural New England at night in autumn can lead to some...close encounters. They get bold and opportunistic when they get hungry and i prefer to have something with me that is a little more of a deterrent than harsh language

With a bit of rope you can also make a staff sling with it, making it a ranged weapon which is easier to use than a traditional sling. You could make a video about the various uses of rope, which is even more versatile and is also quite an ancient invention. Anyway nice music and visuals and a really well made video, I foresee your channel getting big, keep up the good work Pethyr. Greetings from Poland.

This was such an awesome video man, thank you so much for all of the thought and production value you put into it! I found the most perfect wizard staff last year (maybe it found me?🤓) and have been thinking about how I could make it more versatile for different things. I really like the idea of using it as a measuring stick and maybe even marking out specific bands for quick measurements! I’d love to hear more about what you did to your stick and what you’re excited about for new any new ideas! It would be cool to see your process for the shou sugi ban/ yaki sugi treatment on the bottom of your stick too!

Great video. I like the idea of using it as part of a tarp-like shelter. Also if someone did want to use their stick for fishing they can plan ahead when crafting it by adding a groove in the shaft to tie line to. I love these videos that harken back to an older way of life. I myself have just taken up whittling and am finding it to be both relaxing and rewarding process.
