Thank you SO MUCH for making this video. I’m always super concerned about the amount of glass I acquire, and ... Ian somerhalder talks a lot about buying dish soap and Canola oil from farmers markets and from people who buy in bulk which saves plastic, but now I have too many jars

See if you have any bulk / refill stores in your area where you can bring your own jars to fill items like dish soap and canola oil! There are quite a few in Southern California but I know they aren't everywhere. I buy a lot of my grains in bulk with jars I've saved from other items!

I remember when I first started thrifting I would purchase a lot of clothing without trying it on first, which was a big mistake on my part. Because the clothes were cheaper I wouldn’t feel as bad buying it, but the costs ended up adding up and I had a lot of clothing that didn’t fit me :/

Me too! I never tried things on and justified it with the cost but ended up having a ton of clothes that I just never wore because they didn't fit.

Brutal honesty would have been super helpful to me in the beginning of my low waste journey so I do whatever I can to share what I've learned so far! So glad you find it helpful ♥️

I love how you suggested putting your to-go silverware in an old pencil case. I've never thought of that before. I put my silverwear in an old metal necklace case that I got at a thrift store. I just use my metal silverware that I use at home so the metal against the metal while I'm walking can be really noisy. I think I'm going to use my old pencil case now though. Thank you!

I also love thrifting Pyrex containers. When I was getting ready to go to college I was able to thrift 3 matching containers in different sizes and they are awesome for leftovers and getting food on the go!

Finding matching containers at the thrift store is the best!! I found these two matching floral ceramic containers to use for storing rice or other items in the kitchen and they are some of my favorite storage containers. Secondhand tupperware is always a good option.

Great video! 🤩 It is so tempting to have everything look uniform right? I have so many pickle and pasta sauce jars etc that I use now too! I find that full circle is a good brand of sustainable bags too but have heard great things about stasher. Thanks for all your suggestions and tips! I also have a channel where I talk about sustainability as well, I’d love for you to check it out! 🥰Otherwise, thanks for sharing your regrets with us, they are so helpful to know what to avoid! Xo 💚🌱

It is SO tempting for everything to look the same, but I kind of love the mixed up vibe of my jar stash now! It makes it was more fun.

I love to donate little samples to women’s or homeless shelters. They will be used and in a lot of cases need to be small as they are transferred to other systems ( :

Donating is a great option!

That metal container looks like a sandwich carrier. You store d bread at the bottom & wet slices on d top & put it together at work/school. That way you dont end up with a soggy sandwich.

You're probably right! My sandwiches always got squished in it so I think there were just a few too many issues with it for it to be useful for me
