First I want to thank Everett's family for inviting me, a stranger, into their home to help others. Thank you so much. Everett has Down syndrome. He was born almost 2 months premature. He had corrective heart surgery and has a g-tube. He is also absolutely adorable. Join me as I follow Everett over time providing pediatric physical therapy treatment recommendations to help him get stronger, faster, and more mobile. I first met him when he was 11.5 months old. I am so excited to see him grow and change over time.
These videos are not to replace in-person physical therapy. Individualized therapy is critical for a child's success. Please do not try these with your child if your child has other risk factors or has skills, strengths, or weaknesses significantly different from Everett. My email address is amysturkey@gmail.com. My website is: www.pediatricPTexercises.com. Please remember, I am unable to provide treatment recommendations for a child I have not personally evaluated. You will need to find a local therapist for recommendations specific to your child.
These videos may be more helpful seen in order as I perform easier treatment techniques first. Here is the link to his playlist:
• Pediatric Physical The...
I also have available 6 children's educational books addressing Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, and Encopresis and Enuresis. I now also have 3 professional books "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Hips," "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Knees, and "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Ankles." If you have questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me at amysturkey@gmail.com. Please note: I cannot provide treatment suggestions for a child I have not personally evaluated.
I am so honored to have people from all over the world watch my videos. I have reviewed and corrected the closed captions for this video so that you might understand what I am saying even if you don't speak English. I hope the directions below are helpful to you.
To turn on Captions, click CC in the bottom or top right corner of the video
To choose a different caption language:
At the bottom right, click Settings. It looks like a wheel.
Click Subtitles/CC.
Select a language.
If the language isn't listed when you click Subtitles/CC:
Click Auto-translate.
Select a language.
Of course, if the captions are in the way of viewing the details in the video, you can always turn them off in the bottom or top right-hand corner of your video screen.

He is such a blessing for me. I am so happy for the friend who connected us. I can’t video clients from my own clinic so it can be tricky to find co-instructors

@@pediatricPTexercises ok soo my toddler is like 2 year and 5 month old he can stand with support but cannot stand without support....he is still wobbly floppy in legs ,he had a low tone muscle what the doctor told us...I went to the therapist a few months back and she checked his tone she said that there is no stiffness for now ....he can stand with support and cruise with support but still while crusing he looses his balance it's still not like very good...soo if a toddler can stand with support and don't have stiffness in legs that means he will never develop stiffness in his legs ...?

I don’t feel comfortable answering questions about a specific child. The older, a child gets the less likely they develop new symptoms in terms of tone.

I think it is too early to determine if your child is going to walk yet but research indicates that the biggest ability to change is within the first two years of a child’s life. It is critical to work with your child as much as possible. I am so glad you have Therapy. Here is my head control playlist. Maybe it will help you kzbin.info/aero/PLAkJbMrHyKjNf7b1x0fPKdDimNNG2zfPj

@@pediatricPTexercises dear Amy you wrote here that the biggest ability changes before 2 years of age soo if a toddler with low muscle tone who started standing with support and cruising when he was 2 year 2 month old that means now it may take a long time for him to walk ?

@@hauntedmobile9005 Change does happen quickest in the first two years of life, but it is a gradual decrease in plasticity that continues until the day you die. Change can still happen.
