As someone who personally suffers from depression and has already gone through a severe depressive episode, I can relate to many of the points mentioned in this video. It's a daily challenge dealing with the impacts of this illness, and it's disheartening to see that there are still no truly effective medications that can help us. It's important that we continue to talk about depression and support research in this area to find better treatment options. No one should have to feel alone or helpless.

The media, WHO, politicians and world leaders have a lot to answer for when it comes to covid and the lockdowns worldwide. I had plenty of motivation and all was well before COVID hit. Then those three long years of lockdowns and forced vaccinations really sucked the energy out of people. Many lost their livelihoods, their homes and for many of us, we lost the motivation to do things because the lockdowns forced businesses to close. Now we’re in 2023 and many of us, including myself, haven’t got our motivation back.

This is the most accurate representation I have ever seen (for me at least). I had to move when I was around 12 after living in the same house my whole life. When I would cry to my mom, I would say "I just want to go home." She would say, "you are home" and I would say "no, I'm not." Even now at almost 16, I have mental breakdowns where I uncontrollably sob and scream until i can't talk, and I scream the same thing, "I just want to go home." Because home is more than a place, it's also a period in your life in which you felt genuinely happy.

I knew I had traumas and after 20yrs, I knew I couldn’t deal with myself alone so I went to the psychologist which then sent me to the psychiatrist. I’m in medical treatment which has helped me a lot but my goal and my psychologist goal is for me to better my habits and slowly live without medical treatment. I hope anybody dealing with this mental condition seeks for help and gets through it. I’m still in this journey! Many blessings to all of you ❤

When I am severely depressed I still shower & change my clothing even if I don't want to. That is important to me. I also get out the old credit card that I've been trying to pay down to a decent balance & start buying things that I really shouldn't. When I first got Depression back in 2005 I only cried uncontrollably until I received some medication. Also, I agree with you. I don't have the energy to muster up for crying. Depression is finding No More Pleasure in the daily Things that Once were Enjoyed. I think that is a very big part of Major Depression.

I can relate to lots of these. If I try to isolate myself, my parents will just ask ‘why?’ in a really accusatory way,making it worse. Sometimes they’ll make plans for me that I don’t really agree with, which makes it even worse. I also feel like I don’t deserve certain things like food when (for example) I hit a sibling too hard. This makes starve my self for a period of time because I don’t feel like I deserve food, or the love that my family and friends give me. I feel like food is a waste of my time, even though I really loved cooking!

I know a common thing people with depression can do is pretend to be happy but the times I’ve had depressive episodes it’s been way too hard. I don’t think I smiled at all during those years and what felt really isolating to me is that nobody around me tried to get me to talk about it despite the obvious signs. Nobody approached me about it until I was better, so like three years later. One girl even told me that she thought a phone call we had would be the last time she would hear my voice and she didn’t try to do anything. That breaks my heart. I wish people had tried to talk to me about it because the fact they didn’t made me feel even more isolated and worthless

There are people who will listen! Even if it is a professional. Seek help! The thing that I noticed is it is not that people who do not suffer from depression do not want to listen, but they cannot understand how you feel. And I think some people are afraid of depression because they think they cannot help you. It is important that we, as people who suffer from depression, make them clear that we do not expect them to cure us but just to be there for us. No matter whether it is listening to our problems or just sitting next to us in silence only to know someone is there.

I have been in a very deep dark place for a couple of years now, not wanting to be here, but not wanting to die....just wanting to go to sleep for a while, then wake up when it's all ok..... we are all told these days to talk to someone, to friends & family about depression.... but people still shy away as if it's a disease they will catch..... When the time came for Him to depart earth, He said 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.' ( Luke 23:34). He had no bitterness. He was at peace. Jesus Christ became obedient unto death, even death on the Cross! The worst form of punishment of All time. Our sins are costly. It cost Jesus His blood, and His life. But God the Father raised Jesus from the dead after 3 days! PRAISE GOD! He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. HE IS RISEN! HE IS ALIVE! I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF JESUS! 3 YEARS AGO, ONE MORNING WHEN I JUST WOKE UP AND MY MIND WAS STILL BLANK, I LITERALLY HEARD A VERY KIND VOICE SAYING TO ME 'HELLO, CHILD OF GOD!' IT WAS INSTANTLY THE RECOGNIZABLE VOICE OF JESUS! THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND ME OR IN THE HOUSE! Yep, but there’s more. Loosing trust and pushing everyone away. I tried to kill myself yesterday, but it didn’t work. I’m too physically exhausted to seek help, I just want to sleep for eternity to get the pain to leave.
