I don't believe anyone is superior. No one is special. No one is important. Yes, people may be special to us, important to us, but otherwise, no one is special, no one is important. I believe compassion is the greatest of virtues.

@@annmowatt7547Exactly, I don't know any real INFJs either personally and the one who claimed to be wasn't what she wanted to be or thought she was. She was just in love with the idea of being a rare personality type and an empath but lacked the criteria. Here at least that is not the case. We can commiserate and laugh at ourselves together. 😊😊 Reading the life experiences of people and seeing the similarities is proof positive and reassuring that we aren't alone in that regard.

@@CJ-gu4djYeah, I chalk it off as being the nature of communication in general. People rarely listen or hear you out and instead focus on what they want to say instead of focusing on the art of communication. They hear a tenth of what you say and are off to the races trying to get their next point out instead of putting it all together to make it coherent or meaningful. It only gets worse the more you try to explain and the more drawn out and elaborate the explanation. I think that is where we go wrong and why we double down with longer and more intricate explanations when we see we aren't getting through how we want. Just look at how well some of us are able to express ourselves on deep subjects here and you see it isn't due to a lack of words. 😂😂😂

That's why I've come to love studying language so much. I've found that other languages often provide new words and concepts for me to be able to express my thoughts and feelings, even if it's only within my own head, which better allows me to find the right words in English to use with people in conversation. German is very good for having words for all kinds of emotions.

That's why, a lot of times, if I know there's a serious conversation I need to have with someone, I'll spend a couple days "writing a letter" to them which is just a note in my phone, and it allows me to work out a lot of what I want to say, how I need to say it, and to read it over and over and find the best way to communicate it before I have to have that conversation. The trick is remembering everything I wrote out. Also, I'll have a pretend conversation with a pretend version of that person for DAYS beforehand lol 😅

Number 5 hits hard. It's acceptance of the fact that people don't try as hard to understand me as I do them that is so depressing. It makes sense though because most people just assume that you are like them (as I do and thought others would try understand me) but peoples brains just assume and don't usually see a reason to dig deeper and find out what my intentions truly are. It's hard though because even when someone asks me what I'm thinking I can not possibly explain. Hence number 8. Good luck out there all you fellow crazies trying to make the world a more loving place. I love you all

“people don't try as hard to understand me as I do them that is so depressing” 1. People are typically so stressed by life, do they have the energy to begin to want to understand you, especially if their minds are comparatively simple? 2. Most people just flow through life without really trying to understand it.
@EMichaelBall
@EMichaelBall 2 жыл бұрын
@hummingbirdchen He’s not the right one for you; I can guarantee you that. Whether you’re willing to deal with the psychological strain on going without nookie for however long it takes to find a more decent man; dealing with random hookups (understanding that this option is going to cause permanent psychological harm); or just stick it out with him, possibly until you find someone better to monkey branch to. But this is not a man you marry, not by a long shot. The best, most stable relationships are based on friendship, first, and if he doesn’t want to understand you, how can he be a good friend to you? I say this as an INTP who’s doing a cram session on INFJ videos trying to get more insight on how they tick, all with the thought of possibly someday dating someone who a) I’ve typed as an INFJ; b) on paper have no business dating (though to my knowledge is single). I may never meet this person, but some instinct in me says to cram. Maybe I can use this knowledge on a more accessible INFJ that I meet and date. In the meantime, start taking magnesium glycinate or threonate, and Vitamin D+K2 (at least 35 IU per pound per day, ideally split every 6-12 hours) for mood management. As a side benefit, the K2 acts as a skin preserver over time, so you might find that useful.

Number 8 made me cry. I'm wondering if anyone else had that issue for explanations, I can remember my highschool graduates project, it was perfect, every point laid out, but when the judges asked me to explain and expand on what they had in the reports and on the PowerPoint, they couldn't grasp the complexity of my thoughts, even though I did my best to "dumb it down" (simplify) my ways of explaining. 😭😭 I really think the topic I chose was far too controversial for anyone to admit I was right in my perspective of the issue I chose to embark on.

I relate very well to your comment. I recall being very frustrated that no one seemed to understand me. Then one day, spontaneously, I had a peaceful feeling come over me and I said to myself “No one understands me and that’s ok.” When I was in middle school. I was on a student committee and I attempted to speak to the Principal about an issue. After I spoke, he said “I don’t understand what your trying to say.” I can laugh about it now, but it was a difficult journey to understand myself growing up. I was just thinking earlier today, it took my whole life to finally be at peace. My ego reacted by saying “how unfortunate to have taken so long”, while my true Self said, “that really is the purpose of life, so be thankful you arrived.”
@saymabagwan2999
@saymabagwan2999 2 жыл бұрын
@@jjfoo62 That might be true in many cases but some grasp the topic incredibly well but don't know how to explain it to others in a way they can understand. That's the reason I quickly think of a suitable explanation whenever I'm studying something new and have a lot to say about it even if it's unlikely I'll ever talk about it with someone to avoid such situations and to improvise. I'll think up simple analogies or get examples from regular day-to-day activities to make them understand. If I have just studied something and haven't yet done so and end up speaking about it and the other persons asks me to elaborate I have so much to speak but the words don't come out and that worries me and as the anxiety builds up I go blank. It almost made me break down in front of people which I don't like and it's difficult to make a comeback but due to my habit it has become easier. It's simply because I understand it despite being complex while others won't understand it in the complex way and I have to make it simpler. My way of dealing with this helps a lot.

@@jjfoo62 not in every case. In my field there are many concepts that I am aware of but that my colleagues simply haven’t heard of before. I understand the concepts intimately, but often the words to explain what feels more like intuitive information escapes me when I try to share it. My grasp of the principles is so broad and deep that most people are instantly overwhelmed if I tried to explain it to them in the way I understand it. And if I dumb it down I feel like I’m being patronizing. Later, I will think of how I could have worded the answer better, and sometimes will return to the colleague and attempt a better explanation. Now that I’m aware I’m not good with off the cuff explanations, I usually defer inquiries until I’ve had time to formulate a well-worded and appropriate response.

I have used techniques like visualization and the Emotional Freedom Technique with great success, but it is hard for others to hear what I am saying to them about these things. They are not as open minded about new ideas or ideas about things outside of the box of common understanding. I've thought about this a great deal and I'm confident that that is the right explanation. The tapping, or EFT which I have mentioned is an example of a thing that could benefit the world by curing traumas, phobias and even addictions, but it is too much for most people to accept into their reality. I feel sad about that, but I know that new paradigms and discoveries are slow to be accepted.

This is so amazingly accurate, even including all the traits and thoughts which shame us, e.g thinking others are often clueless as they seem blind to what I see as so obvious. Plus, I judge their lack of what to me is normal empathy and caring. Words are not my friend and I constantly compare myself to others who can express themselves so easily and feel so inadequate in comparison. WE have many gifts but we are rarely understood, even our instinctive kindness and altruism, which can be very hurtful. We just do not think like other people, are often misunderstood and others project their mindsets onto us, which could never be further from our true motivation. Great to be validated.

I had an ex accuse me of hacking her phone to spy on her. Nope, just my intuition folks. I instinctively recognize patterns in people based on personal attributes they have in common with people I've encountered in the past. As it turns out, things about us tend to cause the same reactions in other people... i.e. if were physically attractive, we tend to have specific behaviors, if we're athletic we might be competitive... Obviously there's a million correlations we can draw. But we also have the ability to generalize without making hard and fast rules. Judgers like to categorize, and sensing judgers have some trouble accounting for deviations, but intuitive judgers don't. We recognize a standard deviation and know there are no hard and fast rules. This combination of traits we have makes us a sort of ultimate empath and therefore, ultimately a chameleon on command... we can meet people at their level, and it's intentional.

My wife, who I'm currently separated from, recently went through the same thing with me. She thought that I was always spying on her just because I knew so well what she was doing. From another planet, ya damn right about that mate, to understand im not human but an individual consciousness in a human body, i look at the world and see so much negativity and chaos, so much strife and suffering, so many greedy and power hungry ppl, so many broken families and war, this planet is so dysfunctional, to see the problems and desire to help but understanding im insignificant in my abilities to do so, to know my species so well and yet all i can seem to do is watch it slowly rip itself apart, the ignorance, the stupidity, the madness and humanities darkness, we could be so much better than what we are now if we could just remove the bad ppl but as much as i want this i know its impossible because there will always be bad ppl trying to do bad things and there will always be good ppl trying to stop them, the circle of life never stops and our species is still children, we consider ourselves high because we have intelligence yet a simple toothpick could end even the mightiest of us, i know i say i dont care about this species but the truth is i do.. i do so much that it hurts so god damn much to see it how it is and understand im powerless to stop it, it hurt me, so i turn away and try to not care because if i dont care it won't hurt,, thats why i feel numb when i hear about ppl dying, crimes, war, its better to be numb then to let an entire planets suffering hollow out your heart

When trying to explain something, i have to judge how much the person actually cares. I've learned to communicate in a more engaging way that weaves in humor and inclusion, but I'm able to steer the conversation any way I please that eventually gets my point across. It's such a balance of reading the other person's interest level, while concentrating on a sensible flow of thought. I still have my moments of stumbling over trying to explain to someone how I've connected things in my head because it's hard to tease apart patterns that seem apparent to me but not others. I love and hate being an INFJ. But man it's fun when you converse with another intuitive type. The analogies are never ending lol

I usually answer something extremely generic, literally telling them near to nothing about myself. But if someone did this to me, as in completely dodge a normal question I would’ve picked up on it right away. But people usually think I’m just a nervous person. So this sometimes makes me think, “I was so obviously trying not to show ANYTHING about myself that was super fishy of me but why does everyone just look at me like I’m a normal person? Is it just me or is it everyone else?” I can’t exactly comprehend that not everyone can see things INFJs can

I wrote and directed my primary school play. I wrote an original Star Wars play. When explaining it to my colleagues, who hadn't seen Star Wars, and what I needed them to do, they said, "It's too confusing. Can you write it down?" I said, "It's all in my head. It's too much to write down and you won't read it all. Just do the task that I need you to do."

Yes, I could identify myself with those 10 things in the past. Now I recognize that I am not better than anybody else, like a flower is not better or worse than a bird. Dark humor is truly beautiful in its own way, one of my favorite stand up comedians is anthony jeselnik, i bet god gets dark humor, its hard for ppl to laugh at tragedy but death is kinda funny, its hard to to explain, when ppl die and they were dumb you cant help but find it amusing, i can't really explain it, i just like it
@Daytruin
@Daytruin 2 жыл бұрын
you know god has a dark sense of humor because his punchline to everything is heaven will go to those who die. There is no way to know without death, and nobody who dies can relay the answer to the living. It is the perfect paradox and it drives people mad all because conmen needed a way to make a living with the least amount of work and it turns out that telling people there is a heaven and hell and that you are the only one that has the way to obtain heaven seems to be a great way to exploit weak minds and those who are desperate. My favorite religious dark humor was when a seminary teacher said something about satan being the best liar and deceiver. I then agreed and said that satan is brilliant because all he has to do in order to keep people from getting to heaven is to do nothing, because if satan doesn't exist than neither does god. (this is a mormon thing, but basically they tell you to pray to know if it is true and if anything is not true by their own admission none of it is). i didn't really give them a hard time as i had respect to let people believe whatever they wanted, but if they preach at me, i point out all holes in what they believe till it drives them insane. The truth will set you free....but only after you settle with the lies and what they created first.

Apart from the psychic thing (OK maybe the odd spooky coincidence) I'd say I've experienced all these feelings to a greater or lesser degree. I don't think I'm superior but maybe it's easier to assume everyone's an idiot until proven otherwise - it just saves the disappointment! 🤣 The verbalising problem's SO annoying. My brain and my mouth run at different speeds, words can't come out until they've been thoroughly checked through by my brain so every so often I just buffer. It's like I've got that swirly wheel in my head!

I've always felt like an "old soul", from another world, belong in another era and know that where I really belong is my spiritual home and yes, I am somewhat psychic and have seen, felt and heard many signs from the Other Side esp ever since having a spiritual awakening and going through those dark nights of the soul a few years ago where I actually felt myself ascend to a higher vibration! knowledge is power, self-empowerment!

Appreciate the food. Sort of a multi-pronged jab of insights. INFJs tend to know quite extensively what they DON'T want/like in their life, while simultaneously residing in a world of ambiguity/disassociation when it comes to what they truly desire/think. Ask an INFJ on-the-spot what they think about something that you obviously care about and you can see the gears turning in their head as they wrestle with the words to use. A good thing to keep in mind for me going forward. As an INTJ, I believe I mostly tend to go about this in a mirrored way- knowing exactly what I want and quick with takes/insights, while letting things I don't like come at me and pass through.

Infj NiTi here: 1. Studiying my self is the key to solve not only my but others problems, cause of deep understanding of human nature. Likewise an Intj wants to understand his environment for gaining control. As Infj I gain control through understanding people and their system I'm involved. 2. That doesn't make me think I'm superior. But I'm therefore a guide who has many outlooks on opportunities or possabilities of human behavior within that system and how to act upon its future outcome. 3. I'm not only born in the wrong era. I'm in the wrong phase like 10 years to early for this reason and at the same timeframe to 10 years to late on that reason. It depends on opportunities again and their highest possable outcome. The internet and how it changes social frames so people or economy act different, for example. 4. Anybody can be psychic, whatever that is... Regarding to 3. and 4. I seek for knowledge. So I highly resonate to older people before their wisdom and knowledge could be gone knowing the factor of time it takes to gain knowledge and experience. This gives me an adventage to my peers in order of competition. 5. I can't relate to this, cause it's not part of my subjective framework from a experiental point of view. 6. I'm not seriously funny but hell if my fun isn't serious. 7. Sometimes... 8. It's not hard to verbalise my thoughts at all. But it's hard to find someone who doesn't need to know every detail first to understand anything. I expect you to learn a life long seeking for knowledge like I do. If you don't I will leave you without any interest, cause I don't have time to explain everything only because you flunked school or have no interests at all. So why wasting time through more questions? It's all about perspectives. 9. I have a head on my shoulders... 10. Everyone has senses to percept with... So, as it can be seen that the motif of inner perception and outer competition is the understanding of how time works as a social framework leading us to the question who we are. The answer my be given by time as the way we think and how that pattern of thinking has changed with time.

I'm an INFJ and I really am a starseed! I don't usually like labels, because neither of these words defines who I am. I've had contact with UFOs for my entire life. Especially during my teen years, the activity was heightened, and they came every single day. I have never been afraid of them, I always knew that they loved me. I always felt a sense of belonging with them. I just knew. Before I knew stardeeds, lightworkers, or volunteers (the word used by Dolores Cannon) even existed... I knew I was one. I've always been psychic too, not just in terms of intuition and empathy. I've had a lot of other spiritual and paranormal experiences. I've seen ghosts since I was a child. I had a past life regression, and recalled a life living on another planet. This is my first time on Earth 😊

#4 is one I agree with, I have felt that I was born in the wrong time period and wishing I was born earlier in time, in a time where I could enlist and go to war and die while serving my country. I have always about leaving this world by one means only, and we all know that means, this world wants us to go through life with zero mistakes and that thought of failure will always loom over us like a shadow of doubt until it consumes us like a plague, until we no other choice but to end our lives, we believe that people are better off without us, but the only ones we are hurting are our families and our loved ones. To other introverts with different personalities such as infj, insp, etc., please get a cat or a dog, or some type of pet that understands you and will love you, and if you believe you are ready for marriage then go for it, teaching your kids is one strength of an introvert. FYI, I am 20 and I feel like I'm older than I actually am.

Mostly accurate, couple of differences. I've never thought I have a good head on my shoulders as my Granddad warned me that kind of behaviour can swiftly lead to arrogance and conceit, and nobody wants to be around someone like that. In the years since he told me that I've seen he was dead right. He was probably an INFJ too. If so it could be where I get it from. Second, there's no such thing as psychics, and I've never claimed to be one. Let me just quote Sherlock Holmes from The Greek Interpreter. "To the logician all things should be seen exactly as they are." And that's what we as INFJs do: see things exactly as they are, see right through the false walls and plastic masks.

Every time that i hear something from an older person it more often than not pays off in spades. I have to say most of the time i see it as common sense, but am often shocked by how many people lack what i consider to be (or should be ), common sense. it is a delicate dance internally controlling ones ego while also keeping the balance of some self importance. I embrace being the top of average, with knowing that there is always a bigger fish or smarter person. My brain hurts enough.
