I enjoyed your video this morning. I have a favorite item I buy at Dollar Tree: Extra large zip lock bags. You get 6 in a box for a dollar and I use them for sewing/quilting projects and for packing for trips. Instead of buying packing cubes, I put clothes in the large zip locks...either by type or by outfits. Afterwards, I use the empty bag for wet swimsuits, souvenirs, etc. I also use them for storing seasonal clothing at home: winter scarves, gloves and hats, even wool sweaters. They will also accommodate a lap throw. Thanks for all your tips!

That’s a good idea, and I use zippy bags for the frozen foods, rather than a clip, for me they seal up better. I just roll up the bag (and sometimes use a rubber band or binder clip, to hold it shut, then put them in a zippy bag. Can reuse them for the next bag of frozen food, too.

FYI - About the storage containers you showed, the third up from the bottom (round) that you use for dips and crou de te, I have that one and I will sometimes invert it and use it as a cake container. Generally, I place the cake on a cardboard round, then on the inverted lid, and then use the bowl as a dome. Works good at picnics to protect from insects. To remove, just place by edge of counter/table with tab hanging over the edge and bend it down to release seal and simply lift bowl/dome. I hope this is useful for you. Great channel btw.

I'm a sucker for pretty, unusual looking tissue paper, and Dollar Tree is a gold mine for tissue paper.
@Teeezze4 жыл бұрын
I love that you included the cotton rounds! I've been having major (stress-induced) skin issues, so I've been buying 10 packs at a time when I go to the Dollar Tree. It kills me when they're out and I have to pay twice as much at Walmart for pads that suck. Recently I was kicking myself because I was not getting to DT before they closed, and I had to pay grocery store price for rice. Gift bags and tissue paper have to come from DT. I usually get the glitter tissue paper. It is so ridiculous how expensive bags are at other stores. NOT MENTIONED: Scrub brushes for dishes. I've gotten brushes at Walmart, Target, TJMaxx, and the grocery store in the last couple of years, and they all sucked. Totally wimpy and wore out fast. The ones at DT are way better Aluminum foil. I about choked when I saw the price at the grocery store. Soup broth! Stock up before Thanksgiving, though. You might get lucky and find beef broth, but from Thanksgiving through Xmas, the chicken broth flies off the shelves so fast you probably won't be able to get any. Most of my cleaners. The Spic'n'Span antibacterial spray is the bomb. Fabuloso and Awesome brands have great degreaser, toilet cleaner, floor cleaner, oxygenated laundry soap and more. The Vinegar Cleaner is the best glass cleaner I've ever used. AND, the Clorox bleach and Dawn dish soap are far more expensive anyplace else.

I Dollar Tree. One thing that I regularly buy are some of the frozen vegetables. They have a bag of frozen bell peppers, green, yellow and red with onions. The flavor of these is wonderful and save a lot of time when making soups, chili, casseroles or just heating them up to put on a hot dog or philly cheese steak sandwich. I also like the frozen meatballs. Like you, it is just my husband and I so I make a meal using two of the bags of meatballs. They really are good with two flavors to choose from. Of course, you can get bags of frozen corn, sweetpeas, broccoli and even fruit. I buy these frozen foods every time I go in there. Oh, and pot stickers. You can get a bag of 9 for a dollar. They are really good.

We have a Dollar Store in our area. Every time I go there I check the aisles for a packet of food “shower caps”. They come in 3-4 sizes. They work so nice to slip over a bowl of leftover salad, veggies or when I take a plate of cookies to my neighbor. I have a large one in my bathroom I use for an actual shower cap on days I do not want to wash my hair, but keep my hair dry while I shower. I will wash/rinse them a few times before throwing them away. Some brands last quite a while, some are cheaper and fall apart after 1-2 uses.

@KSMSDRPEPPER4 жыл бұрын
I did not know Dollar Tree had that shelf stable milk! We used that so much when we were overseas in Egypt and Jordan - could buy just a half gallon (my kid was just a toddler then) and the Safeway stores there wanted like $7-8 US for gallon of fresh milk. These smaller ones worked great in the hotel refrigerator.

That’s a smokin’ deal on the Himalayan salt! I grind it down to super-fine in a dedicated-to-sugar-salt-and-nuts-only coffee grinder (just for baking stuff, I have a separate one for coffee), and keep it in a little covered dish so I can use pinch or two...or three as a finishing salt (and I do add it to some recipes, too), that way it just melts in so nicely on everything. The Tikka Masala would be great for making Tikka chicken! I’ll have to look more closely at the snack section, those are some great finds! And I have a high arch and instep, so I hope the arch fits well, as you mentioned it has good support. I needed some like that (some heel-but not super high, good arch, and not too high around the ankle so it’s easy on and easy off, haha, I get impatient when I want my shoes off now!, and in the cognac color, thanks for that rundown on them, they fit the bill, so I popped over and got those booties, only...they didn’t have my size left in the fleece-lined, bummer because I don’t like socks, and they’d be warmer for winter, but they did have the unlined (so socks it is), they were on the $25 sale. The lined ones were a bit more. Lots of good little bonuses in this vid, thanks!

Great vid of info. The issue with buying food items from dollar tree and big lots you have to watch the cost per oz weight. Many of the items are an ounce or two less than what is sold at Walmart with the same packaging (can be deceiving) hence the forethought to check the cost per oz weight. The items I have found exceptional savings are black pepper for $1 and their smoked salmon when the season permits for $2 (I use this to make salmon dip) all of their liquid hand soaps, shampoos, body lotions & makeup are great savings too.

I'm a knitter and sometimes use the large "pound" skeins of yarn for baby blankets, usually having about 1100-1200 yards per skein. I call them "blimps" because that's what the skeins look like. Because of their size, the blimps can be unwieldy to work with. I found the perfect plastic basket for my yarn blimps at Dollar Tree. It's a rectangular basket about 11" X 7" and 5" high. Some of them have had a handle at one end. The yarn blimp fits just right in this basket, and the yarn feeds smoothly from it as I knit. When I'm through knitting for the day the basket, yarn blimp, and project go on a shelf until next time. These baskets are located on shelves along the back wall of my Dollar Tree, with various other sizes of plastic baskets. I enjoyed this video very much.

Just found your video! Wonderful information. Thank you so much. I am a weekly dollar tree shopper and buy many of my cleaning supplies, baggies, and some food items. I always buys greeting cards for the grands as well as any office needs. I'm also a crafter so find many items I can use for that. Needless to say, the plastic storage items are a plus. My week isn't complete until I make a run to the Dollar Tree. Thanks again!

Hi Theresa! I do a Dollar Tree run every few weeks and always buy my Good Sense scented lemon garbage bags, the 148 count Scotties tissues, the small scented can liner bags, the small bottles of Gain laundry detergent, (I have limited storage space,) & the small bottles of Dawn dish soap. I always get my toothbrushes, cotton rounds, the 10pk pink lady razors, feminine wipes & batteries there as well. I love to check out the craft & seasonal decor items too. Last year, I bought the tall Rose Gold pencil Christmas tree from Wal-Mart, and I love it so much, I hate to take it down! It casts such a homey glow in my living room in the evening. This year, even though in the past, I thought it was dumb to do this, but I've decided to leave it up all year, and redecorate it for each season, since it's not really a green tree, using Dollar Tree items. (Valentine hearts, St. Patrick' s day clovers, Easter eggs, you get the idea!) I may get bored with this, but I'm going to give it a try! (& surprisingly, my 3 cats have not bothered it! Haha) Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy them & your ideas!

I, too, have been using the brightly colored plastic chip clips for exactly those uses, and the metal binder clips for even more, like keeping charger cords in place, etc. I usually buy all my shampoo and body washes from Dollar Tree--they're name brand, and for how long they last (a very long time!), they're nearly free by the time the bottles are empty. Lots and lots of stuff from Dollar Tree comes into my wee bitty studio apartment, especially when I'm making things for potlucks. Fun store to shop in!

Dollar Tree is my first stop for artificial flowers. Usually the variety is large and worth the price for a fast centerpiece or change of look or season in vases as well as inexpensive floral projects for gifts. We have the same taste in kitchen towels and pot holders! I love the kitchen section. Yes to the pink salt! Yes to the tableware! Some are just perfect for quick table settings. Excellent video!

Whenever I am traveling by plane (would work on train or bus, too!) I hit up the Dollar Tree and buy a selection of coloring books, crayons, puzzles, small water-paint sets, little games, what-have-you (I have even found a pack of 6 U.S.A. maps for coloring and IDing states, how fun on a trip!! and 6 for 1!) I fill a gallon-size freezer bag and give to the flight attendant upon boarding to hand out as needed for fussy, bored kids. Believe me, not everyone has an electronic and something fun from the F.A. goes a long way with smaller kids, they feel special. I started this after a (poor woman) mother of 3 was having a time of it with her toddler. I bought the child a coloring book and crayons at the airport gift shop and spent $25. For $10, several kids can have an activity with Dollar Tree! The F.A.s can use them for all their legs that day, or until the items are gone. Bless the Dollar Tree!

Clear plastic storage bins! I buy some that have attached lids. They’re like flaps that connect in the middle. They come with lids in assorted colors or clears ones. I’m a JH teacher, so I use them to store supplies for student use and place them on student tables!

I use zip top bags, and a lot of canning jars to store dry foods. The jars not only look very pretty and keep the food fresh for a very long time, but they also look so organized in my cupboards. I buy many items to leave when I take something to someones home. The host always appreciates it, and they get to keep the cake taker, or container. I LOVE Dollar Tree and the 99 cents store :) I have the square white plates and we use them with my other white dinner ware every day. I Love them ! tfs 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Packages of beautiful blank cards for any occasion and batteries and light bulbs. I also buy my brooms & dustpans there. When they get dirty just dispose of them. ALSO don't forget Readers (glasses). I buy 10 pairs at a time. If I break or lose them..no prob.

I use dish towels to line gift baskets; I've bought sets of measuring cups to put in various containers of staple items (I have half cup measuring cup in my container of rice) so I don't have to pull out my measuring cups for things I use frequently; I buy reels of ribbon to make bows for my dogs and I use a lot of the hair care things for the dogs too; I buy a lot of platters to take cookies and cakes to events and there's so much more but you get the idea.

I love Dollar Tree mainly because of the savings. My favorite things not on your list are the household cleaning and laundry products. I love the foaming glass cleaner, the toilet bowl cleaners but mostly their laundry detergents, fabric softeners and LA Awesome laundry booster powders. The laundry “stuff” is not great for heavily soiled fabrics but I use them 99% of the time.
