Blitz's joke didn't bother me that much because it's very in-character for him to think the high of an escape from criminals, and a rekindled friendship is gonna lead to a make out session. Like hallucination Moxxie said, he just can't fathom proper intimacy. Plus Fizzarolli looking at him disappointed was priceless.

4:29, For the record about Ozzie's oddly friendly behaviour towards Stolas: I think Ozzie's aforementioned "eviscerating" was more one sided, then we interpreted it. While Ozzie did specifically said Stolas "sold his life for a thrust", he also notes how "that's the spirit of lust!", which should be a compliment, considering not only which sin he represents, but also that he spent last 4 minutes destroying Moxxie for his lovey-dovey romance number. The only reason it was considered as an insult, is because of Blitzo's negative reaction,... Think of Ozzie as high school jock pumping his nerdy friend's love life, just when friend's crush is present and listening.

Absolutely agree with a majority of your points, but if I may offer an explanation for 2 of them -The reason Stryker, Crimson and his goons didn’t just straight up shoot Fizz during his song number was because Crimson’s deal with Ozzie that was awaiting his signature required Fizz to be returned to him safely in exchange for some of Ozzie’s assets that would be given to the Greed ring….even though they still shoot at him anyway before the song. To be fair, it’s more on Crimson for not saying “WTF, GET THEM, but keep the clown alive, he’s precious cargo!” -Blitz’s joke as he & Fizz are hugging is honestly completely in character for Blitz to do. He’s emotionally stunted and he’s always been one to cope with certain emotional moments with humor, mostly when it comes to romance that’s not his own. After he failed to possibly confess his feelings for Fizz before the fire broke out, he’s probably more elated than ever having his possible childhood crush finally give him some love in the form of a hug, and him wanting to make out was Blitz’s crass attempt to finally confess to Fizz. Blitz has probably tried really hard to establish any kind of romance but can never seem to make it work, be it either with Fizz or with Verosika. It’s pretty much the main reason he’s always jealous of Moxie & Millie despite him being blind to Stolas being the only being to reciprocate feelings back.

perfectly said!! I actually didn't think of the fact that they needed to keep Fizz alive! Makes me wonder if most of the shooting was intended for Blitzø while they tried to just grab Fizz repeatedly. I just took it to be showing us that Fizz was just THAT Charismatic, like a top level bard that had always naturally shined bright lmao I agree the joke made total sense to me for him, it didn't ruin the sweet previous moment but affirmed Blitzø needed to break up the intense emotions and yeah...also for sure was just happy to be that close to his "first love". When Fizz starts his song and twirls Blitzø around we get to see a VERY smitten Blitzø flashing a face we have not seen before (similarly how we hadn't seen that sweet soft crying puppy dog face when Fizz hugs him) Blitzø being so enamored twice is very sweet and supports that the heart on the letter was most likely a love confession. imo your first crush and especially a bff crush will always be impactful, and ESPECIALLY for Blitzø who has no doubt longed for any connection as close as he and Fizz were for the past ~15 years. His joke was one of those half-jokes to vent a tension inside and I loved that.

​@@artistanthony1007 I mean Pride ring is the only ring actually meant to make human Sinner suffer and it is portrayed as mostly pretty miserable- mostly from "Hell is other people" vibes. Trapping terrible people together so they can continuously choose terrible behaviors and just spiral forever downward seems like a very realistic depiction of hell that doesn't require such cliché fire & brimstone with imps using pitchforks to torture sinners. Both shows HB & HH seem to have a focus on individuals being able to better their self & world, that hell and suffering and misery are not a requirement if you can truly change and connect with others in real meaningful healthy ways. Basically these shows are just great advertisements for therapy & talking about your feelings /experiences and how that can take you to heaven or just make life more bearable in the misery of hell if you can't escape. Plenty of locations in Helluva are nice, plenty are miserable because of the people in it.

In the story boards for this episode there's a speech bubble that pretty much confirms Blitz was saying "mom" as he ran away and abandoned Fizz in that fire. There was also a deleted scene showing Barbie Wire running out of a tent he was looking at. So the reason he most likely abandoned Fizz that day was because he was just extremely disoriented and the only thing on his mind at that moment was his mom and probably his sister.

I can relate to Blitz and Fizz's friendship. A few years ago, my best friend and I were as close as could be. Practically inseparable. We were always there for each other. Halfway through our senior year, she was forced to move to the next town over. We didn't get to say goodbye. I was told she moved because she was scared of me and she never wanted to see me again. She assumed everyone at our school secretly hated her. We didn't talk for three years. A little over a year ago, I reached out and tried to reconnect. I explained to her how I really felt and she did the same. We've been the best of friends again ever since. When Blitz screamed "I DID CARE!" in the episode, I started to cry. Because that's exactly how I felt with my best friend.

Vivziepop confirmed in her Twitter that the whole “Kaiju Trousers” thing was all Brightman’s improv, and the meow meows in the end of the episode as well. The man played the unpredictable outgoing Beetlejuice, and people assume he won’t do improv? For me that part felt like so Brightman original when I first watched it, and my suspicions were correct.

It actually makes sense to me why Stolas was so cordial with Ozzy during the meeting. As Stolas himself says, Ozzy's demons are some of the only ones allowed to go the earth freely and without consequence, so even though Stolas was humiliated by Ozzy at the club, Stolas would want to be as personable as possible in the hopes of convincing him. Anyone in his position wouldn't want to offend the person they're trying to get on their side.

Yeah, if there was any ulterior motives to the separation, I'd put my money on Blitz's dad. Otherwise, I think Barbie Wire and the other remaining circus performers were more acting out of grief-ridden anger; when they were saying Fizz didn't want to see Blitz, what they were really saying was " *I* don't want to see you". And then they didn't tell Fizz about Blitz because they wanted him to focus on recovery, and they presumed (can't really blame them) that he naturally wouldn't want to see the man who ruined his whole life.

I did love how they set up the backstory. It does show that Blitz has his flaws but he's not that cruel. He regrets what he's done and it haunts him. I also love how Ozzie and Fizz are not only parallels to Stoliz but they help the two have a moment to reflect on their relationship as a whole. I hope those guys become allies to I.M.P. because they could seriously use some right now! Also, you're right about how smart Blitz is. More than most would give credit for. True, he's reckless but there are times where he pulls off smart decisions when possible. As he did with that mousetrap scene.

My favorite part of this episode is deep meta. Nearly every relationship was ruined because of blitz but Fizz’s relationship was caused by a misunderstanding (yes he did blow him up but as he said “I’m not broken”) I laughed hard when it was revealed both parties were willing to reconnect but never did, my mind couldn’t help to imagine years of baggage being removed when both parties realized the other was a good guy.

I don’t think that the make out joke is necessary a bad thing and in fact may not have been completely a joke on blitzs part. I mean with the implied love letter in the flashback it shows that blitz has had romantic feelings for fizz and perhaps that hasn’t completely fizz-led out. But I feel like he said it in such a manner that it sounded like a weird joke _intentionally_ so that when he was near inevitably rejected it wouldn’t be a heartbreak thing and put extra tension between them, but on the off chance that fizz showed signs of being ok with that it was worth saying, or maybe he just needed to get it out but… what I’ve already said. Does that make sense?

At times having an actual conversation and communicating can resolve things quickly at times. I wouldn't say Fizz probably competely forgives Blitz, but he's now realized how Blitz didn't start the fire and caused him harm on purpose and how remorseful he is. Especially since Blitz lost his mother in the fire(something that I believe that's one of the reasons of why Barbie hates him so much) Hopefully they'll get to interact and heal their relationship more in future episodes/seasons

I think that Oops is one of the strongest episodes of the series thus far. The way they built the tension, leading up to the reveal of what happened in the fire, then the song (which is now my favorite of the series thus far), make it the strongest episode of season 2, and one of the best of the series. Not to mention that it is now my favorite.

3:24 yeah I still hated that moment. Loona makes a speech about how Blitz is trying and that's what matters but then kicks him in the privates. It was such a whiplash effect for me.

I agree with... yeah, everything you said! It has comedy, it has pathos, it has enough backstory to explain a TON of stuff (most of which I'd already guessed, but it's nice to get confirmation) while leaving enough questions to allow for MORE backstory (I'm putting most of my money on Mammon being involved in keeping them apart), it made good use of pretty much every second of it's 27 minute runtime, it upped the quality of storytelling and narrative structure, it double-upped the quality of animation (like *wow* they did some impressive things with shading), it never dropped the ball with the humor (except, yeah, the making out joke; just because it's in character doesn't mean it's necessary), and it kept the Blitz/Stolas fire stoked (I'm honestly really proud of Stolas for making the move to eliminate the transactional element of his relationship with Blitz, as I thought it was gonna take more than Blitz's "don't pretend this is anything more than you wanting me to f*** you" outburst to get Stolas to understand and correct at least *part* of their power imbalance... like, short of abdication, he can't put them on equal social class footing). Sorry, that was a wall of text. But it's all true! Here's an issue I see coming (though it may not ever be addressed): Bee/Vortex, Ozzie/Fizz, maybe even Stolas/Blitz, there's a biiiiiig difference in life expectancy. The Sins are functionally immortal, right? And who knows how long the Ars Goetia live? Definitely not as long as the sins. Possibly for a very long time, buuuuut possibly not. So idk, maybe it's not as much of an issue for Stolitz, maybe they get to live out their lives at relatively the same pace. As for the the *Hellborns* dating the *Sins* ?? I can pretty much guarantee they are NOT functionally immortal. Vortex and Bee seem somewhat casual, so maybe it won't break any hearts when he can't stay with her forever, but Ozzie & Fizz?!? UHHHHHHHHH. That's some True Love Sh*t right there. We KNOW that imps and other various Hellborn life forms age. We know they d*e, considering Blitz sadly lamented he'd perish "a withered old waste". So um. If Ozzie & Fizz plan to stay together long term, and I mean looooooong term, I hope there are immortality-granting artifacts out there. Ozzie can't be the only one in possession of rare and deeply powerful items, right? RIGHT? 😢

I completely agree on your "HATE" part, placing a joke in this scene was very uncalled for. Two ex-bestfriends making up after 15 years of hatred and guilt, solely caused by miscommunication, should not be made laughable with a horny cheap line. It just made all the sad build-up and serious matter seem meaningless and generally ruined the potential for proper emotional depth.

Also I feel like I am not the first to think of this or point it out but Fizz rolling around being pulled by his puppies... it just reminded me of that episode from Batman the animated series when Harley Quinn is declared "Sane" is released and one of the first things she does is go into the city wearing roller skates being pulled by her hyenas runs into Batman and (though other stuff happens) he sees that she is making an effort to be better and there was only a misunderstanding. Similar to Fizz running into Blitz (at the time his enemy) and they realize there was misunderstanding both make a genuine effort to do better and all is well. Bottom line Fizz reminded me of Harley Quinn except he actually has a healthy relationship with his boyfriend/partner/Puddin'

1:07 I don't think it's quite true, that criticism. Since from outside looking in, M&M are a straight couple despite Mox at least being confirmed as Bi. But it was shown their relationship wasn't entirely healthy. Blitzø and Stolas could have a healthy relationship, but Blitzø messes it up on his end time and time again. He always ends up ruining his relationships, whether romantic or not. Stolas and Stella's relationship was shown as toxic from the get go. Though their relationship was a forced marriage.
