Oliver, the little deaf kid, isn’t offensive to me. It was really cute to see Fizz inspiring a fellow disabled kid. Being underrepresented can become something you just get used to. You just get used to not mattering. So when there are pockets of time where you go matter, it feels amazing! It’s especially heartwarming that Fizz, who feels he doesn’t matter, made that kid matter.

Big time agree! I'm autistic, so resonates with me there. I also get similar feelings when a character is openly Asexual without being portrayed as immature, socially maladjusted, mentally ill, or "just haven't met the right person". Fizz saved a lot of money with Blitz to see Mammon's show as a kid, and now this little imp is doing the same for him. As someone who is disabled and had selective mutism for a decade (a terribly named type of anxiety disorder that was extreme enough in me to the point my body physically stopped me from speaking in most cases), the kid was adorable and I love they were there. I honestly don't care about the disability side of the talk cause why can't they just exist? If able-bodied people can exist in a story no question, so can disabled people, and I see this kid as a perfect example of a disabled dude just living his life like everyone else. What has me is the writing reasons, as he foreshadows Fizz's horns before we get our first clear view of them. It also made me headcanon that Fizz knows sign language because he felt so useless without his limbs, mostly from those that treated him as lesser just because he wasn't as able as before. Once he got his prosthetics, he never wanted to take his limbs for granted again nor wanted anyone to feel lesser around him, so he learned sign language to make sure every fan had the opportunity to talk to him. Will they actually say why he knows? Probably not, but until that point, this is how I imagine it.
@MelodyMute Жыл бұрын
Oh, and as for the rest of the vid. While I'm not big on Glitz and Glam as characters on their own, I think they're the perfect antagonist to Fizz. They are everything Mammon wants that Fizz isn't. They know they're eye candy and flaunt it, only in it for the money, nasty attitudes, happily willing to sell every aspect of themselves without question, and two of them to double the cash flow. Whether Fizz realized it or not, that's why he panicked and ran back to his makeup room. He saw them as better not because he thinks they are, but they're what Mammon wanted out of his cash cow, and they're more willing to do that than Fizz ever was.
@sarafontanini7051 Жыл бұрын
shoutouts to what i call the "You're a bloody legend" scene, where it seems like Mammon has finally noticed Fizz's emotional breakdown and is concened and may show some hidden depths like Ozzie and Bee...only to completely shov that aside as it becomes clear he doens't care about Fizz as a person and more about him breaking down in front of everyone could impact his 'legend'/status as Mammon's favourite cash cow and hiighlights that mammon straight up does't CARE about Fizz beyond his marketable image. I LOVE mammon as a villain, he's fun, funny, threatening when he wants to be and also shows that not all the seven dealy sins will be secrelty good, some of them will be legitimately villanious and its likely at least Leviathan and Satan might be villains too if any of the rest will be. I don't thik Lucifer will be bad, just has no faifth in sinners/people and potentially a pessimist.

I think its REALLY cool that two total side characters busted in and stole the show so thoroughly. It highlighted just how great the spindlehorse team are at making us love & care about most any character they choose to focus on. And it continues the trend of building on our main character's story even if hes completely sidelined. I think his line at the end was a perfect way to show he basically feels the same about Fizz/Ozzie as he has felt about Moxxie/Millie since the start. Basically hes a "friendshipper" getting intense compersion and JOY out of seeing those close to him in loving tender relationships. YES its because he so desperately craves it and wants to insert himself to leech off their healthy loving bonds for each other...because he hates himself and thinks he will never get the chance for real love of his own. BUT most importantly Ozzie/Fizz are a complete mirror for himself and Stolas! So that moment of showing Ozzie/Fizz clearly impacted Blitzø deeply enough that hes all on-board shipping them, shows that theres a chance he may take their bond to heart and hopefully see himself & Stolas in their Royal/Circus Imp dynamic. I have a feeling Fizz & Ozzie will be a huge reason for Blitzø being able to reach out back to Stolas after he is given the crystal. I don't know that it will be in that single episode, Stolas gives the crystal and Blitzø assumes its Stolas being over the novelty of being with an imp, then Blitzø running away to grieve. I assume he will somehow get a pep talk /reality check from this new healthy happy couple and his long lost BFF I think the last two episodes did such an insane job of giving hope for Stolas & Blitzø to have a long term fighting chance at happiness together.... without having them even interact ONCE. I adore these two episodes as one long continuation of showing Blitzø that love is possible and that talking out your feelings saves years and years of misery & pain. That reaching out to other people can be healing and CAN go well when you take the risk to be vulnerable with safe people.

The disability scene i know from both sides im a performer (a balloon artist) as a performer we live for these moments, one of my favorite moments in my career a mom walks up to me, shes was face timing her sick kid back home. She then says her kid was so disappointed she couldn't come to this event (she was sick and respiratory disorder) because she wouldnt be able to get a balloon. I gladly made a balloon the kid got a dog and the. I told the mom hey switch the camera real quick, i told the little girl on the other end of the phone to blow into the mic. When she did i puffed the tail (its a trick i do to involve the kids). As she sees the tail puff i hear her squeal in happiness on the other end of the phone, hopefully giving her a small bit of happiness in a hard time. It made my day. On the disability side well I'm autistic and also have something called dyspraxia, when i was first starting balloon I had a balloon artist i looks up to, he built me up, pushed me to keep going when i felt i couldn't, when he told me he was proud of me when we tied in balloon art competition i cried. It's super important for people to have role models to look up to. In short I LOVE THIS SCENE.

Meanwhile, we blitz about to leave back home before he stops with a face questioning in his eyes, and he than pulls out a picture and stares at it; until it’s revealed it’s a picture of stolas, but ozzy and fizz than find blitz and tell him thank you for helping them with the event, and fizz even hugs blitz and says “seriously though, thank you”. Blitz than says you’re welcome but…” blitz sees his phone with a picture of stolas and than picks it up. “I’ve got something I need to fix”. Blitz than goes home while fizz and ozzy look concerned at what blitz said. We than see blitz arrive home, and tries to call stolas.

Watching first time. Gotten to the discussion about Mammon and Sins (Love 3), and for some reason I'm reminded of the manga/anime "Seven Deadly Sins". More specifically, how the titular order of knights (yes, they are the Seven Deadly Sins, and they are our protagonists) embody their respective sins in interesting ways that aren't necessarily what you'd expect. In list format, you have ... 1. Meliodas, Dragon's sin of Wrath. He's mostly a chill dude on the surface, but has so much anger qnd frustration inside (due to spoilery reasons) that he can't control himself if pushed to the limit by someone harming those he cares about. 2. Diane, Serpent's sin of Envy. She's loving and caring, but also admires others talents to the degree of trying to emulate them alone rather than hone her own. 3. Ban, Fox's sin of Greed. Very possessive of his stuff and those he cares about. He'll go to any length, even considering killing his best friend, to protect what's his. 4. King/Harlequin, Grizzly's sin of Sloth. He got so sidetracked by revenge and then spending time with a new friend, he lost track of time, forgot about the sacred forest he had sworn to protect, and returned home to see it was burned to the ground because he wasn't there to protect it. 5. Goather, Goat's sin of lust. He's an artificial construct who wants to be human and have emotions. He's constantly trying to pursue a desire that he can't obtain. He lusts for it. 6. Merlin, Boar's sin of gluttony. She's fairly slender, but that's because she's not gluttonous for food, but information. She's constantly trying to learn everything she can, especially about magic. She consumes ridiculous ammounts of information, even if doing so is harmful. 7. Escanor, Lion's sin of pride. He's only really prideful when in full power, caused by strong sunlight of midday. He knows he's the pinnacle of humanity, and so merely pities others that aren't a match for him. He doesn't rub it in, merely accepts it. I felt a need to get that out.😅

The deaf kid scene absolutely was not offensive. Disabled characters are allowed to exist for no other reason other than to exist and I think having Fizz interact and give hope to another disabled character actually does a lot for his character. This whole "this was done for nothing but brownie points" nonsense is mostly said by haters of the show and Viv who want to demonize n put ulterior motives behind everything she does. I HATE this idea of "disabled character is only in this to be a tear jerker" because its literally just there to not let people normalize the inclusion of disabilities in media, same way people will say "gay people are only added to be woke". Its a weirdly bigoted take from people who claim that Viv is horrible horrible person. I have no personal opinions on her, but it frustrates me that people are resorting to making such genuinely damaging and false claims, just because they don't like the creator. It would be one thing if the rep was bad or if the sign language was really really off, but this ?? this is nothing. I'm not disabled, however i do have chronic pains and i do need to use body supports and mobility aids from time to time, and that scene made me genuinely very happy ! I was happy to see that a disability is shown so normally and sign language is being used between two DISABLED characters. It was cute, it was sweet, it showed how Fizz truly values his fans and how he wants to give hope to those that are more similar to him. He is a disabled celebrity giving hope to a disabled child. I don't understand how in anyones right mind could they find that offensive.

Regarding what you said about how Mammon is the ONLY Sin we've seen in the show who's 100% evil, I have to ask one thing. A fanfic I've been reading that features characters from HB suggests that without love, there can be no lust and Asmodeus flat-out said to the masses that he loves Fizzarolli. So, is the author correct with their words and do figures like Ozzie and Bee TRULY encourage not to over-indulge in the sins they represent? (Side Note: Also, I really loved that one audience member's character design with her dragon-like face and witch hat. But what really caught my eye about them is the fact their design seemed to resemble a lot of the female imps and demons who were present. If this character truly WAS designed to be female, they must also be Trans due to the fact they have striped horns. This would mean HB has TWO examples of Trans rep, even if the second example has a non-verbal role)

The only thing i don't like about the episode is Blitz kinda just shows up and.....is bearly in the episode. Like I swear Blitz only got shoehorned into this episodes JUST so he can find out Ozzie and Fizz "are an item" and thats it. Other then that is was a nice episode. I have NO IDEA where the "hate" for the Deaf kid scene comes from, could have been done better (have the kid in the episode more) but otherwise i don't see why everyone got so up in arms about it.

You used Kirby circus music and it WASN'T introduced during the obvious choice of Fizz's scenes. Good twist! I expect Marx's theme next :P Also, to give you a little fun fact that's probably as relevant here as it will ever be: the phrase isn't actually "money is the root of all evil"! It's one of those phrases where the most important part of it got forgotten at some point, because the actual wording is "the *love* of money is the root of all evil". And boy howdy, does Mammon love money...

There's no reason to believe that Asmodeus will suffer any real consequences from his actions; Lucifer very obviously enforces no standards for how the Sins should act.
@sarahzahira7432 Жыл бұрын
Exactly like the Sin lords are higher than Goetias, plus I don't think heaven would care also even if theres some protest and hate from majority of hellborns, the Sins are powerful enough to hold off the attacks plus they probably have some angelic immunity like Lucifer and they can probably handle the the hates sent by lower hellborns.

Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, personally i feel Mammon’s debut was pretty well done. By the way, Fun Fact: did you know that Glitz and Glam’s Theme has been the Background Music for every Trailer and Sneak Peek Video for Season 2 when the Season was still just on it’s way?
@BlackBurrito9073 Жыл бұрын
Sorry but for me "I'm a Klown Bitch" it's the best song of the episode, the other 2 songs are great from a character-writting perspective... but music-wise they're not as satisfying to listen to in my opinion. Also... i don't know what are you talking about Finn... Faye Mata did an excelent job voicing Glitz and Glam, you can hear a very subtle tone difference for each sister to give each of them more identity as well little inflections in her performance that are really fun to hear (Glam for example has a very distinct and cute laugh that we hear in both the first time they talk to Fizz and during their song). i loved Faye Mata as Katie Killjoy in the Hazbin Pilot and i love her again here in HB.

I don't find the disabled kid offensive I see it as a disabled Imp like fizz having a star he sees as the greatest thing ever like fizz saw mammon when he was a kid. I saw it as fizz seeing its someone like him and helped him stay grounded. Hopefully we see fizz open up a business where people can try and start there entertainment careers in a healthier environment.

I can understand not liking them, but i think Glitz & Glam are perfect for what they are meant to be. They are the surface level challenge that presents an equally surface level motivation. They are visually pleasing, and they know that is their appeal and lean into it hard. The show doesnt set them up to be reoccurring villains with personal vendettas against the cast, they are simply one-offs who, at best, will reappear as background details like marketing posters or noteworthy goons for mammon. Grunts with little agency in the threat they provide, but there for the sake of it. Equally, they highlight fizz's self doubt and moral "debt" even more. They know who they are, they know what they are worth, and they are old enough not be groomed. Want them to do something? throw money at them. Try to guilt trip? they are immediately out, as they owe you nothing. It's not impossible for them to show up as goons for mammon, but they would be hired goons; ones who's loyalty has to be bought, not guilted or "earned" through shows of good faith, and would leave when the cash runs dry. Perfect goons for the sin of greed, and the idols he deserves compared to the idol he wants in Fizz (because of the control he has over him). As for the "representation", i have no real issues with it beyond the potential emotional manipulation. If it makes someone feel seen, great. But for those it doesnt represent, it is easy to look at it cynically as taking a bit too much time for something made specifically to get people to notice it. In other words, i see both sides, but really cant speak for or against the scene itself. It does not represent me, nor does it offend me. The most it illicits is a question of how realistic it is for a performer to pause the show for a personalized moment the rest of the audience is likely unable to understand. From the audience perspective, it has to be something assumed to be part of the plan (make a wish and clones/reserved sections), or it is something that breaks the plan in some way, which can spiral. Look, i am not pretending to be informed, i am just trying to see both sides. I wont make a stance on it beyond "doesnt offend me", and wont argue the point any further than this comment expressing my opinion.

granted I am one of the people that was kind of annoyed that Mammon was the openly evil sin. I was hoping for a positive intro for all the sins to later see the evil. that said Mammon is at least a very entertaining villain to watch so I can't be that mad. Though I do worry about having Mammon as an open antagonist, because of escalation. the rings were made to give helluva boss some wiggle room to go crazy in hell and not effect hazbin, but I think going against a sin, especially one that might have a monopoly on manufacturing, might be too crazy to keep from effecting hazbin. that is just my thoughts however.

I really like the idea the Mammon represents not only greed but also the other sin as they're pretty much different versions of greed Gluttony is greed for *food* Lust is greed for *"Sexy" people* Pride is greed for *attention/looking like your the best* Envy is greed for *what you don't have*

12:12 My theory regarding the sins is that the more humaine of them are just exceses of a good thing. Beeing proud of yourself is not bad, but taken to it's extreme it becomes toxic, endulging yourself with a cotton candy or a drink from time to time isn't bad either, same with having sexual desires, or wanting to relax, all these sins are just an extreme of a good thing, things like greed or envy are not, there is a big difference between beeing a money saver and valuing money more than anything, same with envy, you can't glide into it, there is no "smaller" version, fun-fact: in the church that I grew up in if one of the 7 sins was beeing called out, thing that didn't happen very often, the vas majority of times that one was not pride, the so called deadliest, but envy I'm a bit tworn in wrath, on one hand it can come from a sense if justice but it's not always tied to it

My theory for the future: Mammon is going to call collect on Fizzy's limbs - ALL of them, and is going to use loopholes in whatever contract(s) he had with Fizz for force the money out of either him or (more likely) Asmodeus, forcing the Prince of Lust to pick either his position, power, & self-respect (ending his relationship with Fizz and leaving the imp on his own) or Fizz (forcing him to either sell all he has to Mammon to cover the difference, or become essentially a sweatshop worker for him if he wants to maintain any of his control over Lust).

I think including the little imp was cool. It's a good way to do representation without it feeling forced, shows another side of Fizz, and gives us another glimpse into the life of imps. For me it was a nice set of interactions. Also I agree there have been a couple ruin the moment scenes. They are in character for Blitz but I still could have done with out a couple (not all) of them. The vomit one last season was probably the worst. Built up to sure, but completely changed the tone last minute after a heartfelt scene.

Fizzmodeus, as I like to call it, is one of my new OTPs because of this episode! On a more serious note though, as someone who has had a Mammon in her life, I was so grateful to finally have a cathartic song like Two Minutes Notice to be able to sing to myself whenever something happens to trigger my PTSD from over 9 years ago. Thank you, Viv for hiring the songwriter whose name escapes me! 😅

12:32 in the same way Minion's fart humor is their breadbutter. Its boring and anoying, if it was only blitz doing it, that be a intersting way to express character as blitz would be using it as a form of way to express his sadness threw comedy and anger. But because he isn't it makes that character writing WAY less intersting. Giving Curse words meaning is what makes the times they're used so impactful, rare used of Potty humor is what makes it work when built up well.

11:53 and they're wrong, being Greedy isn't evil in the same way being Dangerous also isn't evil. In it of itself its merely a trait one has and they choose how to use it. Greed is in basically every living creature, but it isn't wrong to want things for oneself at all. That kinda part of my issue with the icon of greed, He isn't evil because he wants success, he is evil because of what he's wiling to do for it. I'd say way more PRIDE is the issue, pride ruins Lust, as it can only allow one person to enjoy the activity limiting how lust works and more leaning it into wrath. Glottuny lacks care for limits if you believe only you matter. Envy is a Prideful boast of not being fine that others Have things you don't since they aren't you. Wrath believes its Jury,Judge and executuner instead Managing its anger. Sloth Takes a break at the cost of everything else. And Greedy ambition is put as the only thing that matters, instead of being willing to coparate to get what you want. Greed without Pride is fine. Though If your theory of everyother head of sin is a diversion of Greed, then Greed is the Diversion of Pride. Pride is really the true evil, as the only having care for yourSelf above others leads to alot of evil being done. It isn't Money that creates parasites, as they always existected before that, its the Love for Money itself, the PRIDE in seeming better than others that Feeds those parasites. Greedy people are willing to comprise unless their pride and love for Money itself gets in the way.
