This might be a dumb question but how are you meant to go clubbing and stuff if you don’t know people? Do you just go by yourself and hope to find a group of friends or do you go with your flat mates or arrange something with the people from your course? 😂 I’m more on the introverted side so freshers is so daunting and nerve racking rather than exciting for me but I still want to try my best to socialise

I’m a student at Sydney University and I would also say try to put your classes together - I sometimes had 4 or 5 hours gap between classes or had to commute to uni everyday which was so draining 😂

I can imagine that was so annoying! 100% if you get the choice I would try to do them in a small amount of time, but a lot of unis over here choice your weekly time table for you so you don’t get a lot of choice.

I’m going to Brighton University and I will be studying Media Production, With the freshers tickets I have brought quite a few but I’ve only brought ones that I’ve arranged to go to with other people and people in my building

Hey this is so exiting good luck! I think if you really get involved with 1 or 2 that’s enough but you can join as many as you want (have time for) but its better to do less and go to all the events so you can meet people. Flat mates the first night i would see if you can get everyone in the kitchen and play a game/ have drinks and just get to know each other.

I’m going to uob how would you join the societies? Like how do you apply to them as I’m starting my first year in a month

They usually have a big freshers fair where you can sign up to societies and go to there tasters then join through the guild website. I'd recommend seeing if you can find there instagram or Facebook page by searing UoB then the name of the society or you can find them here www.guildofstudents.com/studentgroups/searchgroups/ this way you can see what's going on and keep up to date! ☺️

i am debating whether to go university or not next year, has anyone got any advice?

Hi Chloe, I have friends who felt like this and it can be really hard, especially if a lot of your school are going to uni or you feel pressured too. I think you really need to think about your reasons for going and not going, it might sound stupid but write a pros and cons list! What parts of uni would you enjoy (the course, social life, independence) then what parts of not going to uni would you enjoy (would you stay at home, get an apprenticeship, go travelling.) Uni really isn’t for everyone and I would say it is 50% course, 50% social life so if you don’t want to go for the social part than you have to make sure you really like the course and visa versa. There are loads of career options outside of uni like degree apprenticeships or even just getting a job straight after 6th form. You have to do whatever is best for you and what will make you happiest. It’s a big decision so just take some time to sit down and really think about what option is best for you. Hope this helps xx

I got my GCSE results back today. I got 5 9s 1 8 3 6s and then a 5 in English language. Do you think it’s possible to go on to medical school with these GCSE grades

Absolutely, a lot of med schools dont even look at GCSE

Their amazing results congratulations!!! and 100% there great, what you need now are really good a level predications and a good UCAT/BMAT score and your be such a strong applicant x

Hi Can Podiatry be considered medicine and can podiatry students be called medical students.
