The one thing I'd say that would actually be affected by intelligence from this entire video was the last one, unnecessary risks, which is the only one here where the outcome is proportional to your intelligence. Here's why many of the rest either don't correlate at all, or do not cause the outcomes on the list at all; intelligence doesn't correlate with reduced ignorance as intelligence can often be used incorrectly, that is to say, it's easier to rationalise bad positions when you're more intelligent. Reduced conformity also doesn't correlate with intelligence, intelligence is not something that makes you follow truth, be more individualistic, etc. Intelligence may help you develop those positions more often than people who are less intelligent, but it doesn't mean you would hold these positions because you are intelligent, this is a causation/correlation fallacy. For example, disgust is a severe illness of the mind, it causes people to develop moral systems based on fallacies and easily refutable claims. Such feeling is common among all people, regardless of intelligence. Feedback also doesn't correlate, as people who are more intelligent tend to also be more disagreeable. It's as though the author of the video watched a few movies where the protagonist was an intellectual and thought "that's how those people think!" when in reality, they're isolationists who are disagreeable. Pertaining to superseding emotion for better decision making, again, not correlated, as well as "mindless media consumption", sorry, intellectuals do it too, it's not based on intelligence.

I suppose I must be (semi)-intelligent, then. Excepting #'s 1, 4, and seven, I fit ll of these to a T. In the case of #1, I engage in all sorts of small talk. #4 -I have a bad habit of taking things personally even when it was not intended to be so taken. #7 -I tend to let emotions get in my way too much. By qualification, I have manic-depression and these are all very typical for this illness. On the other hand, I totally disregard societal values and march to the beat of my own drummer. I am exceptional at thinking outside the box.

I cringe at calling myself "gifted" or intelligent., however I am a "neuro divergent" person that is a fixed divergent/convergent thinker. I constantly have intrusive rational creative thoughts even today. I truly think academics or modern IQ tests are not a good gauge for true intelligence. I mean you can ask a child what there interests are and get a better prediction for intelligence. I know I watched adult themed movies like "Kramer vs Kramer" and "Society" and even the 1988 "The Vanishing" when I was 5 and 6. I sat down and followed every bit of them. I suck at academics too. I am a multi instrumentalist and high level darftsman(Art) too. Maybe that says something.

As a member and former officer of Mensa, I can say that a lot of intelligent people do not do these things, and a lot of not-so-intelligent people do. I often find that people who claim to understand intelligence are merely describing it from the viewpoint of an outside observer. Similar to videos that describe what rich people look like, act like, or what car they drive. As you pointed out, however, to make such connections in an of itself does seem to indicate a certain lack of understanding.

The previous comment has already covered the importance of listening attentively. I just wanted to elaborate and emphasize that empathy is another form of intelligence. Sometimes, they just want us to be able to feel how they feel, and it's important that we develop the ability to do so. Applying cognitive intelligence to emotional problems is like trying to using a screwdriver to hammer in a nail.

Our intelligence always misunderstood by ocean of stupid and shallow people. Do we intelligent people have to explain every move we take? Those people do not understand us is not our fault. It is their own shortcomings. I always just avoid and repel those by not responding to their moves. Ignoring is the best. We are not obligated to respond to any moves. If they do not get it, its their problem, not us. I have had enough of nuisance from these people to the point i just ignore them. It reall works 😆

If I may, I think you have indeed spelled out the difference between intelligence and arrogance. Intelligence is merely data-processing capacity. Refusing to admit when they are wrong is more of a character flaw than anything. It is possible for someone to be both intelligent and arrogant, or dumb and arrogant for that matter. However, they are two different things. Hope that helps somehow.

Ah, unfortunately, people who believe they are intelligent, that's usually a red flag that they are not. Part of the reason is because intelligent people don't make assumptions without adequately large datasets to confirm or deny said assumption. Another part is because intelligent people just don't rely on the concept of believing anything in the first place, due to the highly erroneous nature of the exercise, ultimately concluding that time and energy is better expended on better methodologies. To be clear, it is inevitable to have to make some "educated" assumptions on occasion, such as when talking about theology for example, but still, that's mostly avoided whenever possible.

“Woke” means acceptance of people in all forms and expressions, and the rejection or elimination of prejudice and prejudicial processes and systems… intelligence absolutely embraces this. But I accept that over zealous implementation of this could create some negative / incompatible situations. The difference is not hard to discern. You don’t even need to be intelligent to appreciate the above. Are you Christian? Then take a closer look at how Jesus is portrayed in the gospels and Paul’s letters, as the Christian principles absolutely embody “woke”. If you are Christian, then how do you reconcile that your deity is woke?
