The Red Hulk is a mystery to many casual fans of the Marvel Universe, especially those who are more well versed with the lore of the MCU. But where there is a green Hulk, the aftermath of a science experiment performed by the brilliant Bruce Banner, there is a counterpoint in the form of his arch rival, the Red Hulk. The Red Hulk is actually General Ross, the father of Bruce’s longtime girlfriend Betty. A brilliant military leader, he eventually hits rock bottom and becomes the Red Hulk after making a deal with M.O.D.O.K. Red Hulk is insanely powerful, a walking nuclear armament essentially and one of the strongest beings in the MCU. He may not be in the MCU yet, but good old General Ross was in both the 2003 and 2009 versions of the Hulk as well as the hit film Captain America: Civil War. So it’s theoretically possible we’ll see him in one of the Infinity Wars films. In the comics, Ross has teamed up with the likes of Deadpool and Punisher to form a supergroup in an alternative time line and despite his hatred towards Banner and the Hulk, sees his daughter become the Red She-Hulk after she’s brought back to life. Oh, and because the Red Hulk retains Ross’ consciousness, he can use his strategic military mind while in Hulk mode, thus allowing him to make some clever choices on the fly, such as figuring out a genius way to wield Thor’s hammer. Now that’s something we’d love to see in Ragnarok.

Red Hulk cannot wield Mjolnir. He can move it in zero G, but then so could anyone else. To Wield Mjolnir, one would gain the power of Thor. In a gravity field, Red Hulk would never be able to move Mjolnir.

Right here's my theory for Red HULK in Civil war Do you remember where Black Widow and Falcon chase Crossbones goons where they have to save the biological weapon, to me it looked like blood, who's blood, maybe the Hulks as it was classed as biological. Now I think the government has it so it could be possible that General Ross gets his hands on it in Infinity war. Now I may be completely wrong but it's the best I got so.....

About the only thing I ever liked about Red Hulk was the irony of "Thunderbolt" Ross leading an incarnation of the Thunderbolts, although I liked the original team/concept better than just making them Marvel's equivalent to Suicide Squad. I don't particularly dislike the notion of the Red Hulk, as many A list heroes have or are getting a "family" of similarly powered or associated characters. What I hated was the way that; especially in the story arc that revealed him as Ross, loads & loads of details, character consistency and credibility were constantly ignored for story convenience, replaced by assumptions that reduced many A-List characters to convenient plot devices in order to promote Red Hulk/Rulk as a golden boy or "mary sue". It wasn't just big blatant things like stealing the Silver Surfer's powers & board; allegedly killing the Defenders(!?!?!); wielding Moljnir; or damn near every superhero getting gamma-mutated so Rulk had to save the day. It was also small details, like that despite having a totally different facial structure than Banner (yes including that mustache) Ross' hulkwas drawn as the Hulk's red twin. I thought up an explanation, but none was ever offered "in story". Maybe he wasn't originally intended to be Ross until that story Other "small" details included Punisher after having initially tried to kill Rulk, uncharacteristically agreeing to hunt down Domino for him. Although some like to portray him as a nut job who just gets off on killing criminals, Frank Castle actually does have a sense of morality (the extremes of it being part of what drives him). He wouldn't agree to help a "monster" he just met get his hands on a young woman without knowing some reason why she deserved what ever Rhulk wanted her for. But it's assumed he would for story convenience. It was similarly uncharacteristic that Silver Sable, as leader of an elite international mercenary group had, aside from a broken door very little>nothing of heavy security to be seen when Rhulk & friends invade her penthouse. Just getting up to the penthouse would've took some effort. Punisher and Electra might've been able to circumvent security systems, but Rulk? And even then she'd certainly have had guards nearby, not that it would've stopped them, but we should've seen some unconscious &/or defeated mercs laying on the floor; even if Rulk jumped in carrying the others. Of course it was just assumed someone with Sable's covert ops background wouldn't have a escape exit, even when Rulk let her run into another room to get what he wanted.(?) Ridiculously lax security also seen the way the Leader, MODOCK, the Thinker etc ran around casually kidnapping the likes of Black Panther, Doom, and Reed Richards from their home bases almost effortlessly. OK the FF are in a building in the middle of a normal city, but nobody just casually strolls into Lativaria or Wakanda unnoticed until it's too late the way they did without serious story explanation being due. Adding injury to insult, that Rulk was on the scene in Age Of Ultron when BP, Marvel's premier cat man, in his vibranium suit, trips on stairs and breaks his kneck(??!??!??) didn't help. Not his fault, but didn't help. And while Lativaria isn't as overall high tech as Wakanda, they took Doom out of Castle Doom itself(!?!), where Doom even has doombots that go take a crap for him, and left with the real Victor?!?!? Yeah, right, uh-huh, nothing hard to buy about that. I guess we were also to assume that Dr.Doom just forgot about it and never went after any of them? Perfectly credible considering how, y'know he never holds a grudge. Whenever I see a story that tears down/diminishes one or more characters to build up another, it tends to make me disdainful of the featured character; and SO many people were ridiculously screwed with trying to build Rulk up.

I take it Marvel ignored the last time Betty was hit with gamma rays she turned into a green harpy.. that's what I remember in a flashback in one of the hulks books.. plus gamma rays effect each person differently from what banner told rick after he tried to become another hulk but ended up getting poisioned. not every one hit with gamma rays would turn into a hulk.
