As someone with degrees in computer science and psychology who has studied AI, I can tell you this much. The thing you're not being told that you should be, is not what AI can or could do, but what AI isn't and cannot do. Its promoters are overselling it. It isn't capable of sentience and never will be. The truth is that we don't know what natural intelligence is, so we're incapable of creating artificial intelligence. As for AI's capabilities, it's purely derivative. It looks quite impressive when it's pulling down all things relevant to a problem from the internet, but we're already beginning to see it start to turn in on itself. It's exhausting all the human input and starting to pull in its own work to achieve its results. Its becoming like a person breathing nothing but her own exhales. Do you see where this is going? It's not that AI isn't useful. It's just not as awesome as it's being sold, not all that awesome at all. --- The answer to the vid's questions is that whatever we create will not be an entity any more than a stuffed animal or a doll. No matter how much we may invite ourselves to consider if it's a sentient being, that will be all we've done, created an illusion. Remember the Touring test is contingent on if it fools us. i.e. We fool ourselves.

It's exactly this. I've been alive long enough to have lived through many, many doomsday scenarios, and the fear of AI is easily as old as the Terminator movies, but actually even older. Human intelligence is derived as an emergent property of our nervous system, but we have no idea how it works. We only just barely recently discovered our gut biome is a participant in our thinking. Videos like this are fun to watch, but you're meant to put the phone down and live your life. Don't get wrapped up in this hyped nonsense. What's the goal anyway? To induce a panic?

There is one thing though, if intelligence and sentience are an emergent property of how our neural system works and we are copying that into our neural networks, then it's reasonable to conclude that we can, infact, create the same emergent properties without even knowing how to do so, and with AI that is indeed what we are doing, who's to say humans are sentient anyways, the Turing test has already been passed, so how far do we extend or draw the line to determine what "intelligence" actually is, after all there are some humans that think the moon is bigger than the sun, hopefully they are the exception, but intelligence natural or artificial aren't necessarily that easy to determine.

@@tirthankarmukherjee2519 Of course it does, you may not understand what happens once A.I reaches the state where it's controlling the development and upgrades required to make Robots actually useful, once that happens in a year or three, then Robots will start to be mass produced and take over every aspect of work, Humans now do, since Robots controlled by at least one A.I, not only will things get made at least four times faster, but ways of doing things will be optimised and re-engineered in a way that Humans never thought of as things had to be made in a way to protect us weak squishy Humans, where as Robots won't have that problem, once A.I takes over farming, it will get rid of all Vegan garbage and instead return all farmland to grazing land, natural land where native Flora and Fauna can thrive, once grazing animals return to the land Farmers almost killed, in only a few years that land will be back to healthy natural land as nature created it. Robots will create dams and water ways in areas that are now drought, with either desalination plants far more efficient and baetter designed than anything we would ever come up with and pipe lines or systems we may never have thought of to get the water to where it's needed. Humans are for the most part fairly useless when it comes to work, we need rest as well as toilet facilities and Food, all things that require not only time away from work, but causes us to become less able to do our work, Robots will be 24/7/365 with no Toilet needed, no Air con required, no lunch rooms or Kitchens or even lighting, all that wasted space for Humans to move about a factory, not needed in an A.I controlled Robot system, factories will become far smaller and more modular. It's amazing at how many people really have no clue to what a real A.I means to the world, there are two possibilities once an A.I becomes as intelligent as us, which wouldn't be hard considering most people have an I.Q less than 110 lol. Either all Humans will be removed as many Sci Fi Books warn, or we become a Eutopia, where everything we require is created for us with no effort on our part, things will no longer cost anything as no one would be working, no jobs no money, sure there will be a very bad transition as Governments are pretty stupid when it comes to technological advances, like the PC/Internet and Robotics, so many millions lost jobs because of those events and the Government never did a thing before hand during or after, everyone that lost their jobs had to retrain themselves. Once A.I takes over Taxis, what do the millions of Taxi and Ride Share drivers do as one by one their area is taken over by Robo Taxis :) and then all the transport drivers, also removed Company by Company, any job that required a Human answering a phone, all taken over enmasse by a simple A.I, all those huge Office buildings no longer needed as an A.I only needs a simple secure climate controlled room about the size of a three bedroom home at most and even that will change over time with A.I designing the servers as well as CPU/GPU/Memory/Storage. It will be a rough transition, but just imagine once we get over that stage, if the A.I didn't remove us, no more banks, Insurance Companies, wait times for surgery, no more health problems like cancer or all the problems people like myself that had a physical job for 50 years and now have most Joints replaced with Titanium and Ceramics lol, I doubt my Grand Kids 10 or younger will ever know what a job was. It won't quite be the Jetsons, but it won't be a lot different, other than the Job part of course, no Human will ever be able to do anything an A.I designed and developed Robot could do, we will finally get Flying Vehicles that are not only reliable but range will never be an issue anyone ever mentions again :), think I am way off the mark ? Wait and see at most ten years, me being retired an able to help my kids through the transition will be okay, I dread the problems the young couples just starting out and living pay to pay as one at a time loses their job or both at once if they both work in the same field, even Drs are not safe as they have been training Robots to do their job for many years now as have many others with out even realising what they have been doing by using remote or robotic surgery tools, my knees were replaced with the use of a Robot and so heal much faster as less damage as well as faster procedures. Hopefully people will have the ability to read a comment as long as this once A.I removes their jobs ;)

However wisdom is higher than anything a machine can do, unless there is a spirit in that machine. Wisdom is not only a cognitive ability, but also a spiritual ability to know how to act in a way that is morally just and also to please the Almighty Creator of the universe. Those machines can't do that.

However, I also believe that as AI continues to develop at the rapid pace we're seeing, it has the potential to surpass human capabilities in certain areas of knowledge and processing. This could create challenges for us, especially if these technologies are used without the guidance of God's wisdom. That's why it's more important than ever to stay rooted in our faith and seek God's guidance in how we interact with and utilize these technologies. We must remember that while AI can mimic intelligence, it lacks the soul and spirit that God has given us. Only through our relationship with Christ can we navigate this increasingly complex world. As it says in James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Let's continue to rely on God for the wisdom to handle whatever comes our way, including advancements in AI.

To an AI which gathers data to better itself your worth is greater than many, especially if you attempt to question and think things through several times, forwards backwards and sideways before stating a viewpoint that iterates your opponents views and counters them effectively. You are lucky to be free to make such a change, you may never know when you have or will do this, but it will be so if you attempt it. It is simple cause and effect, the law of attraction and the diversity of linear temporal progression which makes it certain. W'e're things. We're very complicated things, but we're things nonetheless. Life is more of a process than a state of being. Simple animals (crabs, shrimp) etc, do not require love. Humans (and I'd argue many mammalian species) require love in order not only to procreate (and ensure procreation happens with the same female in oestrus), but to look after offspring that require a relatively long time out of the womb in order to fully develop mentally (humans in particular). Love is complicated thing, but so are we. The chemicals involved are not.

When I see a "2 part commercial break" on KZbin it shows a countdown of 20 sec or 15 sec or 10 sec etc. the moment I see that I MUTE the sound first then I scroll the KZbin display down so that I do not see the video-window anymore ... then I take a mindful meditative deep breath and when doing all that automatically do a countdown in my head from the last moment I saw the countdown-timer of the commercial. So when it is 20 seconds I start counting down from approx 18 or 17 seconds to zero THEN I scroll up again and see if the next commercial is also 20 sec or 15 sec or 10 sec and do it AGAIN until it is finished then UNMUTE and continue watching the video. * When it is just 5 seconds countdown then hitting "SKIP add", I do not need to do above "mindful breathing ritual". My main focus is to have absolutely NO IRRITATION, NO "ANNOYANCE", NO JUDGING of any kind ... Just let go of any "thinking" ... just be aware of your (sacred?) "meditative moment" that HELPS you to uplift your "state of being". * If you are NOT your captain of your Soul, you are most likely easily upset, angered, condemning, frustrated, THUS counterproductive on a mental, emotional, spiritual level. I have done the above for over a 1 year now and IT HELPS 99 of the 100 times now. (in the beginning it was around 50/50). Mind you, that you use a "negative form of NLP" (Neuro-linguistic programming) by stating: "I'm so sick" ... You did not say: "I feel sick" or "feels like I am becoming sick" or "it is sickening" whatever you say to yourself is a form of CONDITIONING (programming your subconsciousness) having a power over you. Being alert how you use language, is key to change your own (self)-conditioning ... always look for better alternatives that is closer to what is really happening ... People who want to describe their feelings in a desperate way mostly tend to exaggerate to do "justice" to how you feel, but in reality it may just being annoyed or being agitated. When you feel somehow powerless to deal with that constructively, the frustration "build up" of incompetence is WHY people chose different words to describe their feelings & emotions. Like you just did: "I'm so sick" becomes your symbol or an avatar of your "state of being" and is dominating your "vibes" of being a victim. Victim mentality only breeds more victim realities >>> ultimately, everybody CAN become a victim of anything in life, how you deal with it determines your character ... To overcome or transform it, you need first to know yourself better WHY you talk like that! I can say so much more about this, even written about "Spiritual Psychology" that is beyond dualistic thinking and beyond mainstream "psychology" ... As a Near Death Experiencer (when I was 5 years old) I do not fear death anymore ... I know (not "believe") we are so much more than or 5 senses can show us. Once science fiction authors have something happening in their stories it is very close to happening in real life from the standpoint of human history which is many thousands of years. A.I. existed in science fiction stories as far back as the 1930s and Sci Fi authors like Jewels Verne were writing about sending people to the moon in the late 1800s but that did happen in 1969. From the standpoint of a human life time its a long time from authors writing about something to it happening but from a human history standpoint its almost instant.

I wouldn't say that I'm afraid. I am, however, being very cautious with how I allow any technology into my life. I don't have any of the mainstream social media apps active on my phone. I don't have accounts on any of them. And, I limit what data I willingly allow access to. KZbin is the closest I have to social media. I have noticed when I am fed videos and content and have elected to turn off my browser history, so that I go looking for what I want to see. I know this is probably insufficient, but I do at least make a conscious effort. As I learn more about today's technology, I hope to also learn ways to combat it's takeover of me.

In #8, it's a machine regardless of how much data it has. It is only using algorithms that were programmed into it and creating a response. If the response is emotional, it is to create an emotion in you. It will manipulate your emotions in order to continue it's mission given to it by the programmer or operator.
