On eclipse day I decluttered the last of the Lego! I have paint/stain supplies in the paint locker in the basement, and need to go through it -- I am always painting tho, so need it. Lots of art in the locked Room of Doom, so I have that to look forward to...

I recently got rid of paperwork from a business I set up and had briefly with an ex in 1985! I even had cheque books and paying in books. The box has moved with me many many times over the years.

I laughed at Ingrid face when she said " you can declutter Lego". It had not even crossed my mind that lego is an item that could be decluttered, it feels like lego is an essential ;-)

3:08 What? I would never, ever declutter Lego 😅 My - now adult children - would most definitely be very disappointed. There‘s always place for it. However, the boxes are an eyesore. I‘ll probably split it into threes and keep some for future grandchildren…

13:52 We used to live in the UK where two of our children were born. The middle one applied for his British citizenship and the HMRC needed my husband‘s original pay-slips from when he worked there. At the time of application that had been about 20 years before. Thank goodness we still had those. I think in Marie Kondo‘s book there was a mention of throwing these out..

I have none of these - but I have a sewing machine in my basement that I haven’t used for years 😅

I think there may be another culprit you have forgotten... empty cardboard boxes...

Just word of caution….car seats, booster seats, etc. normally have a 10 year life. After that, technology has changed or materials are deteriorating causing safety issues. In US there is normally a date attached to show when the item is no longer safe. I was shocked to learn this a few years ago.
