A very misleading statement at 8:25 (the whole work permit sections is such a mess, actually). There’s no requirement to have lived in Canada for 3 out of 5 years to get a PR. That is a rule to become eligible for citizenship. For PR, there’s no requirement to stay in Canada BEFORE getting it, but there’s 2 years out of last 5 rule to maintain your PR status.

Canada adjusted to a 1:1 scale to other countries is one of the most expensive countries in the world to live in. Our housing market alone is absurdly hyper inflated, any good or service that crosses a boarder is through the roof because of taxation and outsourcing, etc. A more accurate statement would be "if you're living comfortably where you are then you will live comfortably here".

I live in the Lower Mainland of BC. I do not recommend living here. If you ever want to buy a home and if you want to raise a family with a good standard of living I do not recommend. Yes what Alex said is true! You just need to be able to prove that you have the intent of getting PR and settling in Canada for long term. So they are still wanting to stop people with work permits from just investing, then leaving the country. In the case of buying a property while having a work permit, you will need to speak with a lawyer to be safe :) Which any real estate advisor you use should be able to connect you with a good one! 🏡

Awesome video as usual! Adam, I have a minor point of feedback. This is not the first time you casually mention you need to spend 3 out 5 years to apply for a PR status. This is a common misconception. You are likely confusing it with Canadian naturalization/citizenship requirement. In fact most of the FSW/Express Entry applilcants apply "outland", and come to Canada for the first time in their life with "confirmation of permanent residency" paperwork on their hands. Immediately after landing they become full-blown permanent residents. Canada's immigration system is very different from EU/USA in this aspect.

@cronusradonsystems20362 ай бұрын
Given the current state of mass psychosis is the US, we're very seriously looking at moving to Canada. As a real estate agent, and being "in the know", tell me this. What is the demand for appraisers in Canada? My wife is a nurse and also an appraiser, and she really does like to do the appraisal work. I've got a manufacturing company that makes components for radon mitigation systems. I would hope that bringing a nurse and a company into the country should help our chances of getting residency. We live in Colorado now, in the snowiest, coldest county here. I dont think the winters there will be worse than the current ones. It comes down to wanting to live somewhere where we can more peacefully live, without this weird, polarized, uneducated, angry half of the population. Yes, they exist everywhere, but most places sit them down at the kiddie table, here in the US, we hand them the mic. The consequences of that are going to be felt for decades, and I think we would rather spend those decades around more civilized people and societies.

@KyleRoth2 жыл бұрын
This video is a little bit misleading about the healthcare---it's not just "basic stuff" that's covered; it's also surgeries, ER visits, pregnancy and birth, etc. Specifics will depend on the province, but there are federally mandated standards that provincial health insurance must meet. Otherwise, great video!

Truth with credit score is it cajt really go up until you actually have a few loans or a big one. So from 18yo until you'll have your first major loan it will probably go down, since it will go down if there aint enough money in your accounts (wich will happen if you go to college). I've known several immigrants to Canada who all said that they ended up in Canada because it was easier to get into than the USA, because they were rejected from their original goal of living in the USA, or that they even had a long-term plan of immigrating to the USA once they had Canadian citizenship.
