I'd like to visit Iowa. It seems like a beautiful place. It's safe, with a clear air, educated people, nice landscapes and nature.... I love it. By the way, I'm watching you from Colombia.

Hello! Iowa is a lovely place. Many people don’t give the Midwest of the United States much thought because there are no mountains or oceans nearby, but there is a lot of quiet beauty and positive qualities about the area. Safety, high quality education, and opportunity make for a winning combination for many people.

Iowa City seems ideal - I love the arts, shopping local, good schools and everything you mentioned. I love smaller cities with so much to offer - like all the good stuff without the headaches.

For the most part, yes! Every once in a while I get the itch to drive to Des Moines or Chicago to get more options in shopping, dining and entertainment, but honestly, it is always a relief to come back home where things are peaceful.

A big shout out to Emily Farber for being the best Real Estate agent in Iowa City area. Emily is a Rockstar! She helped us along every step of the way. She constantly kept us informed and checked in on us throughout the whole process without ever feeling pushy. She always kept communicated with every person involved in the transaction and even helped us to find contractors and services we needed since we didn’t know anyone there. She was incredibly patient with us while we looked at a lot of different properties, and we never felt pressured to settle for anything we didn’t love. She is a genuinely nice person who cares about her clients and wants to see them happy. We always felt like she had all the answers for us and always knew exactly what to do. She was very attentive to our needs and wants and even warn us of things we weren't seeing and made recommendations o We’re now enjoying our beautiful new house and Emily is not jut our favorite realtor but someone we can call our first friend in Iowa City We highly recommend Emily whether you’re a born Iowan or your coming to this beautiful place for the first time Emily Farber is the best.

Sounds like Iowa City has a ton to offer and lots of great school options for the kids. I really appreciate the social consciousness of your great city; it just makes sense. And, I bet those restaurants offer up a good meal. Gotta =try Orchard Green and Jimmy Jacks Rib Shack when I get to Iowa City.

I was born and raised in Iowa City. This was back in the 70s. We lived on 1417 Franklin Street, close to Mark Twain if you know where that is. A little history? We would go visit Bill Sackter that lived on Yewell Street.Wild Bills coffee shop ring a bell? I loved it there. It was a cozy neighborhood. I’d there anyway way I could find out more about the home I grew up in?

They are super rare. The worst one in my recent memory was Parkersburg in 2008, but that’s super rare. There was also a derecho last august, which was totally devastating, but that was actually so uncommon we don’t even have a word for it in English.

Well, Iowa City is a very highly educated community. 95.6% of the people age 25+ who live here have a high school diploma or higher, and 59.3% of people age 25+ have a Batchelor's degree or higher. But, like anywhere, there all sorts of people living, working and playing here. It takes all kinds to make the world go around. 😊

If Iowa City would ever wish to secede from the state of Iowa, I imagine most of the rest of us would be ok with that. It would just be a kind of, ho hum thing with fireworks and dancing in the streets everywhere else. If you wish to move to Iowa to get away from the lunacy in the larger cities and the coasts, don't move to Iowa City.

Every store in your face signs "OWN BY WOMAN" . Glad to see women succeed but such a turn off. This cuty became so unsafe nowadays. I don't recommend at all. Horrible, horrible.
