-Just stumbled on this video. Not sure if you mentioned this in another video but another important point is that Swiss people are very closed, especially in the countryside. Meaning that it is difficult to make friends. -In the US people are very open and you can make new friends super easy, yet these friendships are very shallow. In Switzerland it is much more hard work to make friends, but once you are friends you seriously are friends and you can rely on them. -Swiss people like their privacy. Don't engage in random conversations with strangers. It is not friends, it is creepy. -Don't make loud noises on Sunday or people can call the police on you. -Things are expensive the quality is also very often high.

I didn’t mention stuff about Swiss because it is really hard to generalize people. I don’t want to be reduced to a stereotype and I’m pretty sure, not a lot of people want to either. I am, however, planning to make a video about generalizations about Swiss people but I will have to do more research before uploading content. ☺️

If you have a job you get it immediately. The day you start your employment. Normally your employer gets it for you or helps you. You will find no job without a permit. Yes, maybe you find a private person who employs you as a house cleaner but as it's easy to get a permit if you have job then every company wants to abide by the laws. If you do not have a job in Switzerland you have to prove that you can afford living here from your savings or investments or you have a job you do for a company of another country and you can work from Switzerland like a writer, journalist or so. Or someone pays for you like a fiancée or something. You can come as a tourist and stay for three months and look for a job. There are different types of permits (the letters of the Alphabet make no sense). Permit L: You can work for three months. A lot of people come to work for the winter tourist season. Mostly students or people who have summer tourist jobs in Spain or Italy. You can work as skiing instructor or in a hotel. Permit B: It's the first you get if you are not refugee but an immigrant and you plan to stay for a longer period. It's valid for 2-5 years it depends on which country you are from. You can renew it easily if you still have job. You have to live in the region that issued your permit or apply to another permit in another region. Permit C: After 10 years you can apply for a permit C. It depends on the region you live in what is required. Normally you have to show that you learned the local language to a certain degree and that you are integrated. Once you have this it's valid your lifetime and you have all the rights except voting. You can live wherever you choose. You can loose your job and stay.... Swiss passport: That's different from municipality to municipality. It's easier if you are married to a Swiss. If you want to do this you inform yourself in time. Normally you can get it after 10 to 15 years. 25% of the people in Switzerland do not have a Swiss passport. 65% are either first or second generation immigrants. And please if you come from the US: don't call yourself an expat. You're an immigrant like many here. There's nothing wrong with being an immigrant you don't need another name. It depends on your education if you find a job and on what you want to work. If you are an engineer or a nurse or doctor you find a job easily. Or if you want to work in construction or as a truck driver - both are well paid. It's not very difficult to find a job if you are prepared to do any job. Normally you earn enough money to afford a decent life. Of course if you work as a heart surgeon you earn more than a waiter. But you can afford a small apartment and food, clothes and healthcare as a waiter. Not a very expensive car or a great vacation.

@DramaQueenMalena4 жыл бұрын
@@johnsimeon8080 It depends on what you do. We have high salaries but we have high prices. If you earn 5000 $ a month you can just afford to support a family of 3. But without car or new clothes or any new stuff or eating at restaurants or so. But we have a strong social security net and many services. So at least you have food, a decent roof over your head, clean water, heating and healthcare. Education is free. Another difference is that everything is regulated if you want to open a business. You can make money only if you work in finances but that you can do everywhere. If you want a decent life it's easier. But become rich is almost impossible. Most of us are not.

I guess coming from a 3rd world, every thriving country would seem expensive cuz the cash flow is different.

It all depends what you plan on doing here. If you want to go to school then you prepare school diplomas, grades, if you’re planning to work here, then all the specific requirements you can find in official Swiss embassy’s nearby.

Hi I know that it's very late to comment here but I wont miss a chance to ask you this. What is the most suit-looking job in that country? Yeah, I know you are studying for the meantime but do the swiss government counted your staying as to qualify to be become a resident? Then how many years should a tourist to stay b4 they officially become a citenzin?
@LykaKrystle4 жыл бұрын
Hello! It’s never too late. And Suit-looking job? Can you specify what you mean by this? And I am a resident now, I am married to a Swiss person. And a tourist cannot become a citizen but 10 years as a resident if you are on a work visa and 5 years if you are married to a Swiss person like me.

For everyone who wants to live in Switzerland but want to do the shopping in an other country: Don't expect that the swiss people are going to welcome or accept you :) You can't benefit from a good economy and high salaries but don't spend any money there.
@marlajacques69474 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on that, and from what I’ve noticed the items in Switzerland r of very high quality so one would get their money’s worth from it. And really the food prices is r very similar to France, Germany anyways. Love how generally the Swiss r not a shopping culture like here in Canada! Wasteful
