@arquillanofamvlogs25826 жыл бұрын
you-are-the-pelican-man uhm maybe because it's fun, entertaining, it enriches your knowledge and even when you re-read a book you'll be surprise on how many lessons or messages from them you missed from reading it the first time. Books have a never ending knowledge in them and it does not spoil kids to be so dependent to technology. They don't have system requirements, they don't need electricity, no phone/laptop/computer. They're just them. They are book we can rely on. Unlike internet wherein you can hardly figure out who's lying and who's telling the truth. Sorry for the rant I just love my books. :)
@HirilElfwraith7 жыл бұрын
i would argue that if you really like a book, it's worth keeping, but donating books you're not going to reread is a reasonable decision. also don't get rid of pens! ones that don't work, sure, but don't just get rid of perfectly functional pens for the sake of minimalism. one day your favorite pens will run out or get lost and then where will you be? not everyone can just buy more. get a pencil box for storing stray pens if you don't want to feel cluttered, but honestly you can never have too many pens.
@EmeraldMara857 жыл бұрын
@Invisable Soul Artists don't just use 3 pens, we use all the sizes we choose to buy because line thickness is used everywhere (based on depth of the perspective or the differences of clothes to skin) even in just a simple picture otherwise it would look flat.
@elizabethhager91707 жыл бұрын
The book thing bothers me when she says to get rid of the ones you have read, aren't you going to read them again? As for using an e-reader, that's just not the same thing because it doesn't feel like a book and my book's battery is never going to die.
@RehtaehBarr6 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Carol Hager the book and DVD thing annoyed me so much. Like great if you have no issues with internet connectivity or power outages but not everyone can go all digital for everything.
@zoebicknell22006 жыл бұрын
I personally have gotten rid of a lot of books recently as a result of moving house and therefore being faced with the sheer volume of books that I could no longer store. I made the decision to re-read (and read for the first time) books that I felt I had grown out of or remembered the story enough to not be too bothered about losing it. Before I allow myself to get rid of a book, I must first re-read it. It has forced me to read more books than I have in recent years whilst giving me a sense of productivity, but donating the books makes me feel better as they are going somewhere where someone will appreciate them maybe more than I did. I had an entire book series that I hadn't even touched since buying them and I realised that someone else should have the joy of discovering that world rather than them sitting on my shelf.

Actually, why not be neat and organized? Then you'll have your things with you (most importantly: your books) while also having a clean home/room. You don't need to get rid of things just to be clean you can arrange them properly and if you put it in stack place the ones you mostly use on top of the stack. You don't need to throw away stuff just to be in. Who cares if your minimalist or not? Just be yourself just cleaner and organized.

You should not throw away attachments for the blender or vacuum, chances are you will need them for a recipe one day or for cleaning a shelf. If you have picked up travel samples, only keep the ones that haven’t expired, and if you never travel or never have guests than it’s probably better to just throw them away.

Please keep posting these!! I am a hot mess, and this video helped a lot. Will seriously watch this a bunch of times so I can think of more crap to toss out! This video named my biggest weakness: 1) duplicates (I will misplace one so I’ll buy another and then 10 of them show up- how to prevent this??) 2) OFFICE SUPPLIES IN GENERAL- I am a sucker for notebooks... 3) I’m becoming a teacher so I worry I’ll become a school-supply hoarder...maybe do a video for teachers on how to handle school supply clutter (it will be a fact of life, so how to maintain and organize?) 3) not just old chords, but what about laptops and appliances that don’t work? 4) can you do a whole video on clothes and how to build a wardrobe? 5) do the same with toiletries! What are the essentials for a good skin/makeup regimen that help with minimalism? 6) CRAFTING SUPPLIES-what are the essentials and what can be tossed out? 7)Also, maybe discuss the psychology behind hoarding- like interview hoarders and their motivation and maybe have a psychologist recommend some tips on how to undo these habits. I am crazy-inspired by this video, btw!! I am a messy person, and it’s something I’ve been working on lately. Hope these suggestions help!

I once read online about how minimalism is something that most poor people just can’t do. Sure it’s nice to be de cluttered but things break!! You run out of stuff or have a month where you just can’t buy more cleanser/shampoo/etc and those samples are what you need. It’s what my mom said all the time when I was a kid “you won’t have it when you need it, so why get rid of it?” Is it hoardy? Yes absolutely no doubt lmao
