My favorite story behind the making of this movie is Jones telling Carrey “I can’t sanction your buffoonery”. Because seeing how Tommy tackled the character of Two-Face, it’s ironic and hilarious 😂
@TherealRNOwwfpooh
@TherealRNOwwfpooh 2 жыл бұрын
He should've said "We can't sanction your buffoonery", since Two-Face is, quite literally, of 2 minds on everything (as with the preceding animated series, Harvey Dent is his much more noble half meanwhile Big Bad Harv is a combination of all of his negative aspects, thus resulting in quarrels between the 2 differing sides of his fractured personality) & often uses us/we/our rather than I/me/my when speaking about his dual identity problem.

The song kiss from a rose actually fits the movie perfectly as it is about overcoming hardship in life. “The kiss from a rose” is symbolic for a positive change of direction in one’s life. It isn't entirely fair to blame Schumacher, as it was Warner Bros, not Schumacher who insisted on the more campy, light-hearted Batman. Schumacher wrote a script called Batman Triumphant, which was going to be the final part of his trilogy and was much darker. Also Forever saw that the previous Billy-Dee Williams, Harvey Dent had some awful accident and turned into Tommy Lee Jones! Hideous. Also led to some critics complain that Batman Forever was 'Whiteout Batman'. Of course you also have Jim Carey playing... well Jim Carey as always.

People thought Batman Returns was too dark, so the whiplash to a more comedic Batman was at first received well. Nobody thought it was a GOOD movie, they thought it was a fun popcorn movie. If Batman Forever had reigned it in a bit and been closer to Batman 89, I think the whole run would have looked better and perhaps more would have been made. But maybe that's good he fucked up so royally because it opened it up for Nolan.

You're forgetting it came during the height of Jim Carey's 90s whirlwind. When talking about it not holding the same popularity it had nearly 30 years ago. It came off the heels of Batman Returns which was popular, brought it more stars to the franchise like Val Kilmer & Tommy Lee.

Kiss From A Rose was released a year before the movie came out but it wasn’t a big hit till the re-release in 1995. Joel Schumacher asked Seal if it could be featured in the soundtrack and he also deleted the Batman themed video.

Kiss from a rose comes at the end of the movie during the credits after the u2 song, and the song is all about being save by love and that love learning to understand and appreciate your dark side to make the best of it and become a better man in the process. Which is one of then themes of the movie, in few words the song is about batman/Bruce W and the doctor psychologist relationship

The "Batman, aaahhh guy" must have been someone's relative who needed a SAG card for some reason. He got dropped in the movie and has a line, therefore MUST be a member of SAG (Screen Actor's Guild). ;)

I had some great memories with this movie just like Batman return’s. I remember going into blockbuster music and purchasing the cassette to the soundtrack to this movie and then cd. And cds where just coming out that time too, also I remember the Mc donlands cups that light up I got some of those too. I also had a thing for Robin when I was younger I bought his posters and all. Ah good times.

2:56 Also, it wasn’t just The Riddler, Two face, or catwoman in Tim Burton’s version of Batman Forever (Batman Continues) but The Scarecrow was going to be in it and he would have been played by Brad Dourif (best known for voicing Chucky).

I noticed how people like to say that Kiss From a Rose has nothing to do with the film, but the song was use for the film's love theme between Bruce and Chase, especially with that line "You are the light of the dark side in me."

19:22 I randomly met Seal while standing in line at the Burbank Frys Electronics store back in the late 90s. He was super cool and even helped me choose which USB connector I should buy! I asked him about 'Kiss from a Rose' and his albums (which my wife and I listened to all the time when we were dating in college) Great days back in LA, I miss that store.

I'm one of those who loved it at first, but now finds it to be a tough slog to get through. Back then, it was my son's first big screen, live-action Batman, so I think that had something to do with it. Now, I mostly just find it noisy and silly. Except for the overhead shot of Chase, lying naked under the sheets. That will never get old.

I remember at the time it was released, there was a statement that Michael Keaton refused to do the 3rd one because he didn't want to be typecast. True or not, I have no idea. And I've heard for years that Kilmer was hard to work with, but watched an interview with Michael Biehn, who starred opposite him in Tombstone, and he said it wasn't true for him. He did acknowledge that Kilmer (and himself) tended toward perfectionism, so maybe that's one of the problems. He described their rehearsal for the final gunfight between Doc Holliday and Johnny Ringo as taking a whole day, and both of them wanted it that way. It is definitely an awesome scene.

I heard Kevin Smith saying on Fatman Beyond that he spoke to someone who works at Warner Bros and they said that there is a much longer and far darker version of Batman Forever in their vault. He said it has the original beginning at Arkham Asylum and the giant bat vision/dream is in it aswell the other deleted scenes and other scenes not seen anywhere else. I've heard of a fan cut called- Batman Forever: The Red Book Edition. It apparently has all the deleted scenes added in and is supposed to be very good. On Twitter there has been a hashtag movement when Joel Schumacher passed for WB to release the longer version in a mark of respect for him and the fans but not much has came of it. #ReleaseTheSchumacherCut

As I probably wrote in a comment posted here from another KZbin account, I actually enjoyed both of Mr. Schumacher's presentations from this franchise. It may not be the same as the ones overseen by Tim Burton, but I find them equally good for different reasons. I lean more in the direction of enjoying George Clooney performing Bruce Wayne and Batman then Val Kilmer, but that's about personal taste more than anything. Hoping Joel Schumacher rests in peace.
