The worst "timers" are on the protect device missions. Advent is surrounding the device, and taking pot shots at it while you need to cut your way through the interfering pods. Worst case, some high damage enemy is camping the device.
@entropiated90202 күн бұрын
I'd fix this by: allowing for misses on the device, and only allowing so much damage per turn.
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
Yep - or when a Sectapod wanders through the device and destroys it immediately 😂😤
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
Yeah I feel like this one could do with some balancing mechanics in the game engine!

Protect the device need a rework. The enemies are on the device and your team is deploy a mile away. I should be the reverse probably a wave like protection where you spawn at the device and must protect it until the timer finishes. It make more logical sense

Some reasons are justified some are i Skill issues 1. Percentages kinda suck, this isn't coming from a guy who mostly get 100% shot accuracy. Some times you hit a 28% while failings a 95%. Think tactically, if you going to flank a enemy pick the right class, rangers got 100% chance to hit with a flank shot (if the enemies can't dodge). Anything can happen it it isn't 100%, heck I was hacking a door and got a facility lead even tho it was 5% 2. Activating a pod might cost you the mission at worst the run. Mostly can be solve with a scout. I had some fun wiping pods using reaper claymore and a grenade especially early game where you are weak 3. Missons timers, depends on the mission. They make you shift your goal. Normally you want to fight and kill all enemies slowly and carefully. It forces you to use basic principles from the tutorial, use grenade to make a exit. The misson timer does punish you if you forget or don't proactive attempt to complete the objective. The timer is there for a reason for evac mission because the advent can prevent firebrand or skyliner from evac or the advent complete their goal thus the mission is useless 4. This Is Xcom, they shoot at anything that move first even a random trooper on the otherside of the map, best bet is suppression (grenadier ability that I think you can learn in training center or get from AWC), overwatch is mainly for not wanting to take a 1% shot. Or ambushes. 5. Missing blade attacks is fairish as the lancers can miss too but it annoying so either use an aim pcs (not sure if it work on blades) or katana on wotc, missing blank point shot kinda make sense as blank point isnt the most effectiveness range for combat. The whole point of guns is to maintain distance while shotguns and the pistols do specialized in cqc the others do fall off a little 6. Sharpshooter aren't the best. Their action economy sucks, they need 2 actions for their rifle, squad sight get penalty for aim and their rifle aim fall off with close range. Some abilities are weird like death from above only returning one action point even tho the rifle need 2, their upgraded weapons take extra Research and stuff. The game works agains them 7. Yep can't argue with this one. 8. Never really have a problem with chosen. Only problem I would have if a sectopod or another high priority target comes. You often cannot kill both and a solider might die. Especially with warlock if he mind controls a unit and a pod active you lose dps and get either equal or outnumber with the enemy 9. One of the 2 reasons I dont play iron man. 10. Yeah, you have to manage supplies and stuff and often rely on luck. Essential unit may die early game forcing you to train more to take the fallen place 11 (what I hate about the game) mission failure requirements and what happens if you fail them. The game doesn't make it clear on what make a failed or a successful mission. For example the crate tagging mission you dont need to kill all the enemies meaning you can evac, there should be optional and required objectives so the player know what they can and cannot do. Knowing when You can evac is good. ALSO how failing a supplie raid cause the local resistance to stop existing

Thanks for the analysis! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

I played xcom for 2 times, and then i tried xcom 2, the most frustrating for me was the campaign mode, i just didnt like the always moving mechanic. I didnt finish this one because of that and many frustrating issues you mentioned (which i didnt find that frustrating in the first game)
@user-hi4sm3ig5j2 күн бұрын
The first one already has that solution mechanic on the lower difficulties, you do get better chances on your next shot. Game doesn't tell you though so the frustration part still happens and makes it feel even more unfair if you know about this and still miss three 85% shots in a row. The timers issue, I get. Especially with the hack a laptop on a train mission when the specialist never seems to get a line of sight on the objective even when it feels like they clearly should. Although you can still evac on those so you just have to take the failure on that one without losing soldiers. Meanwhile the council missions where you get everyone captured after the timer runs out usually have really long timers that aren't much of a problem. As for misclicks they should have had an extra "are you sure?" pop-up if you click a square out in the open in close proximity to enemies when only an insane person would do that purposely.
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
Totally agree - I mean, the timer one is manageable and you can even mod it but can feel a little frustrating sometimes! I think that is a fantastic idea for misclicks! At least having a option to have a pop up like that in the game!
@entropiated90202 күн бұрын
Missing 85% shots so often is likely balanced out by the fact you'd make more sub 50% shots if you bothered trying them... but we don't because we try to find solutions with better odds. So you only see the high percentage misses and not the low percentage hits.
@entropiated90202 күн бұрын
I would fix this by applying a "jitter meter" of some kind. 90% shot, but the shooter is feeling jittery? Expect issues. 35% shot but dude is feeling dialed in? Take the chance.
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
I like that - would give you some info to go on and make it not feel so bad when you miss - good idea!
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
Yeah that is very true! It's rare to take many shots below 50% and when I do I always expect them to miss!

Xcom2 is brutal,been playing and restarting for three weeks,guerilla tactics,check, 5man squad check,and then the reality,just cant have enough supplies in the beginning.😢

It really does get better after practice - there's just alot to learn - I recommend you watch one of my playthrough's if you're struggling (like my Close Combat Only playthrough) as you might be able to pick up some tips how to master it!

Please another campaign of bad north with the mountain trait and mines. The challenge is you can only use animal traits on very hard.
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
What do you mean animal traits? (Always open to new ideas if I like them)

Thats xcom baby, sorry had to do it. Nearly threw controller through TV on first mission when i surrounded the last remaining bad guy who was on 2 health. All of my team point blank around him missed. He then missed his shot. As Christopher Odd says, the numbers dont even matter.
@roguebrothersКүн бұрын
Haha - yeah it really is like that! I think alot of the enjoyment in this game is learning to embrace situations like this and laugh instead of cry 😂😂
