Congratulations on getting out of the only little nightmares trap. I'm really liking Poppie's Playtime. Now I'm starting to think this is a revenge story. Huggy is clearly alive in plain sight the whole time. From what you said about the poster, it is possible that they are encouraging kids to scare I think it's the founder. "Do not hide behind the door and scare whatever his name is" is oddly specific. So maybe he had one too many kids scare him in the huggy suit and now he's out to scare others. I don't think that's the whole story but I think it's yet another clue to the puzzle. But I think I'm emplying that the founder could be in the Huggy suit. I've worked at many amusement parks and every amusement park I've ever worked at it's always been the owner of the whole park in the suit every time so maybe it's the founder of the organization in the Huggy suit and he's out to scare because everyone scared him. I feel like you also commented on how you don't die when he catches you. Idk maybe I'm imagining things but idk maybe he's just trying to scare you because hes been scared so many times by the kids 🤷‍♀️

Huggy having real eyes under his fake one is honestly the creepiest shit I’ve ever seen. Especially since they actually follow you unlike his fake eyes. The developers didn’t have to add such a small and barely noticeable detail but I’m glad they did, it makes him a lot scarier

@@Wertyhappy27 they are not reflections - the floor in front of huggy is covered in square tiles, yet the eyes that you see within his doll ones clearly look nothing alike to it. There also seems to be nothing that could reflect on them from that specific angle.

I heard a theory where Hugh is controlled by Poppy, that is why he did not attack us in the first place. It also explains those texts we get when we die, for example: I need you alive- Poppy needed us alive so we could open her case.

Also the other toys need to eat but huggy wuggy is the only one who doesn't which means he's trying to kill you just for fun (in one of the death screen it's mentioned that huggy wuggy is exp 1006 and it says in the last tape that exp 1006 is the only one who doesn't need to eat)

Another theory: Talking about Stella Greyber being Poppy, what if Laith Pierre is Huggy Wuggy He seems very certain that the trespasser/player is going to leave one way or another in the first tape, and you wouldn’t put all that faith in a system, if the “motion triggers which, once set off will turn on the factories emergency alarms and contact the police straight away” were so easily to get past in the first place, that the player can easily roam around the factory with no trouble (except for HuggyWuggy) He says that it’s after closing times therefore no one is in the factory, so all they have is that system (Huggy Wuggy) to stop the intruder The only reason you would be so confident that the trespasser will leave, even going as far to leave a tape for them despite anyone being in the factory, is that he is in the factory and he is the one that’s going to “make” you “leave” Also what if not all of the toys are workers but some of them are past trespassers, the ones hanging outside of the poppy factory, like trophies

One of my absolute favourite tricks in horror is when you scan over something that is doing something else that you'd never know until you look closer. Like the slightly moving doll here or pennywise always having one eye directed at the camera. It's a refined version of those subconscious messages where people try to make an audience feel something by putting a frame with a message in a video but this actually has a pronounced effect. This game also has made me question why Amazon hasn't created a toy like poppy where an Alexa device is inserted into a toy.

My own theorizing: Most likely, the writings on the wall and the letter were written by Huggy. He's intelligent enough to not jump at you like an animal unless you're vulnerable, after all. But some more evidence of this is that in chase sections, the arrows on the walls ALL lead you towards dead ends, which wouldn't make sense if they were written by staff who were trapped there. How would staff members running away from Huggy have time to write on the walls anyway? And why would they make unprofessional misspellings? Also, some of the stuff written on the walls contains such gems as "I'M STARVING" as well. No one was kept alive in the Warehouse. Huggy himself is likely the one writing everything, everyone there was eaten by him. Any survivors were likely eaten. If Huggy is the one writing everything on the walls, then that means it's Huggy, not surviving staff, that warned intruders to stay out of Poppy's chamber. Huggy is likely not on Poppy's side. In fact, not only is he likely not on her side, he's probably her jailer, and he was likely designed as such. Why would a company make a giant living 20ft copy of their bestselling toy with ridiculous strength, speed, and killing instincts who stands around acting like he's inanimate? If Huggy is starving - as the wall writings imply - why would he write letters to lure people in rather than going out and finding food? Why would Huggy be so desperate to keep intruders away from Poppy, enough to hang and write childish but effective warnings all around her door? Why hasn't he freed Poppy himself? The answer to all these questions: because Playtime knew how dangerous Poppy was and designed Huggy to make sure she stayed trapped, as a guard and jailer. He's still acting as her jailer, too. The only reason he's even remotely rogue is because nobody's around to feed him anymore, and he's not mentally capable of leaving the warehouse due to his programmed purpose. Huggy Wuggy might be the main threat of chapter one, and he might be incredibly scary, but I'm not convinced he's evil. He's just abandoned and hungry. Poppy is the actual villain, I think.

I'll take note of this theory It's a good take on Huggy and a good theory Chapter 1 made me wonder why there were writings on the flower leading to Poppy's Chamber? I used to think that those were written by the past employees but why would they prevent someone to enter the chamber where they keep their intelligent doll Poppy? After reading your theory it actually makes sense. Poppy IS an intelligent doll so that probably led to Playtime fearing her and isolate her in that chamber, they make the giant Huggy to prevent someone from releasing Poppy. But I'm still curious about on thing regarding this theory, what happened with the experiment to built giant Huggy that led him to being a hungry predator?

We’re just an ex employee, it’s never said (so far) if we’re a man or a woman, the girl was a woman who interviewed for the factory and sought to be immortal, so I think she somehow fused herself with Poppy, hence Poppy is now, according to her own words, “a real girl”.

With the double negative in that list, I think it’s something that we’ll actually need to remember. Cause who didn’t look at that poster? Every playthrough I have watched, everyone reads the poster. I think Pierre is going to have been turned into a toy, one that the way we mainly deal with is by hiding and then scaring him by jumping out. I actually saw someone else, one of the other horror game theory channels I watch, bring this idea up as well.

Huggy is genuinely one of the scariest creatures I've ever seen. His real eyes inside his doll eyes, him having a digestive system, and being a really intelligent living being that knows when and how to act like an inanimate object, it's awesome and I hate it. Also there is no reflection because the game uses SSR (Screen Space Reflections), this means reflective surfaces can only reflect things that the player sees with their vision.

Reflections are some of the hardest things to implement into a game, (even huge triple-a devs like Rockstar still struggle with it) so considering this is an indie game made by a small team, it's not surprising you don't have a reflection. I wouldn't look that deep into it

The Protagonist we control in game knows always what to do and *where to go.* Elliot Ludwig is the one that designed the factory which probably means that *he knows every place in the building.* This might not be true but The Protagonist we control *could possibly be Elliot Ludwig* going back to the factory to investigate for himself or to fix his past mistakes back at the factory.

Fun Fact: Huggy isn't actually hungry. In one of the tapes it was stated that even though he has a digestive system, he doesn't require any form of sustenance. Meaning that he kills for the fun of it. Edit: Correction, this wasn't said in a tape. In the trailer, you can see words show up every once in a while (kinda like an old fnaf trailer). During one them, you can see words in the background that talk about how he doesn't need to eat. Apologies for getting information mixed up

at the end of Stella's interview, when the man says "ok, i think we're getting off topic here" or something along the lines of that, to me, he doesn't seem like he's weirded out or creeped out from Stella's behavior, it seems more like he was somewhat curious and intrigued. there's a subtle undertone in the man's voice that makes it sound like he's more interested in the way Stella thinks than anything else. maybe that's why Stella could have been turned into Poppy because the man thought she would be the perfect candidate to be turned into a toy

I've seen someone reverse the trailer you get when you begin the game. If Poppy is Stella, my guess is she isn't very happy since when its reversed shes begging to be released from Poppy. (I checked to make sure they didn't edit it, but when you reverse the reversed video its the normal trailer, just slowed down a bit.)

Two more things: During the death scene where Huggy Wuggy kills you, if you're the one playing it then it's very hard to see, but if you look back at footage you can see something similar to a bone or neck in his mouth. And in the first vhs tape, the tv doesn't show much but one thing; Huggy Wuggy's arm, or something very similar to it. I also think that the more "extreme measures" was a very hidden warning about Huggy, and him mentioning that you would most likely die without really saying it.

One thing I've also noticed when watching Poppy Playtime is with Huggy, his eyes dilate as you get closer to him. The pupils grow much bigger the closer you approach him, as if he's focusing on you but doesn't want to startle you.

The creators of the game weren't trying to reuse a voice actor. They used the SAME actor for a reason with Poppy and Stella. If you look at the other names there is one that stuck out to me in particular:Rich/Scientist Rich is a scientist in the game. The theory about Poppy and Stella being the same person might actually be true.

"The protagonist has no reflection" This is actually likely due to the game not rendering a body for the player. Even the hands themselves, hanging in front of you, are "probably" only being rendered for the player's perspective and not being shown in the game environment itself. This is common for a lot of first person shooters actually! Find a game where you can switch between 1st and 3rd person and have your character walk up to a wall. You may see your character holding a rifle that is clipping through the wall itself. But when you switch to 1st person, the rifle isn't clipping through. It's as if this three dimensional gun has no depth to it, like an optical illusion. That's because the gun you're seeing in 1st person isn't the same as the one shown in 3rd person. Though I'm sure some other games handle this mechanic differently. Cyberpunk 2077 is another game that has no reflection for the player at all. Even though you can see your body in 1st person, you never see your reflection. It's what bothered me when I entered an elevator with a glass window on it. My RTX graphics card showed a mirror reflection of Guro Takemura, but not a reflection me my character standing next to him. Interesting how games try to create realism by using optical illusions.

FusionZGamer made a few videos hacking the game and flying around and when he flies around you actually don't have a model like you mentioned but the hands are modeled there so maybe that *is* why there's no reflection

@@thatonedumbtransboynamedv8311 That's also what I was thinking. I haven't played the game myself. But I've seen people play and I don't think you ever see your feet, legs, etc. when looking down. In cyberpunk 2077, you can see your legs and stuff in first person view. But they never factor the body in a reflection on a window. Now they do have a mirror you can go to and look at your character. But running around in the world and seeing reflections in windows, you just don't see yourself.

Another cool thing you missed in this video is a carving on the wall of the long black hand creature! I believe it’s in the same room as that “DO and DONT” poster just on another wall. You can see the big hand on the wall and next to it it say “Wonderful”

I just realized, when Huggy is angry, you can see white dots in the center of his eyes. So you can see the ‘human’ eyes throughout the whole game! Also, I think it’s possible that the tiny Huggys in the boxes were alive at one point, but either starved or suffocated, since they don’t move or ragdoll around when you get them out of the box, so it could be rigor mortis. Plus the Huggys were probably meant to be ragdoll plushies, so this might solidify my idea a little more. Or maybe the devs didn’t want to add physics, I’m not sure.

The "player has no reflection" thing is almost certainly not an easter egg. There are several ways to handle reflections/mirror type surfaces in games (and yes, there's a lot more to this than you'd initially think) but Poppy Playtime uses a method called SSR: Screen Space Reflection. This basically uses a modified version of what the player sees to create reflections - and the player is not visible from their POV - meaning they cannot be present in reflections. at 10:33 : look at the speculum/claw grabbing inside Poppy's voicebox covered in blood, notice how after a short movie cut the doll has moved, her neck now lit because her head rotated a little. But that's not what's interesting there : notice how well and refined the claw's reflection alongside Poppy's porcelain back of the head or neck is, only for a video tape of a few second. I'm half with you on this, it COULD be Stella or the experiment number relating to her transformation written on it. Stella may have been inside Poppy once, but what if this doll requires a periodical renewal of the human entity inside her ? Stella also could be inside Poppy at the end of chapter 1 but may have not been the original or sole prisoner of the doll, wouldn't you agree ? Poppy might need a periodical renewal of the human body inside her because shes a doll and WAS NOT made to hold (??) A human belongings, like- some body parts has to be replaced due to its starting to be rotted​ (ig-). But what if the soul of Stella stayed? In the letter the player gets at the begging of the game there are misspelled words, looking like it is spelled by a child, as you said however, on the kissy missy sign Leith Pierre is spelled as Laith Pierre once again however when you look at the credits when your talking about the poppy and Stella Greybur thing you can clearly see that even the developers spell it as Leith so, I don't know exactly what that would be implying either but maybe the sign was made by a child or something I just thought it was a cool hint thing and wanted to share.

I think Laith Pierre (I hope I spelled that right) is Huggy Wuggy. In the tape it has huggys hand and huggy seems threatened by the player being in his “home” even though he doesn’t attack at first I think that’s because he wants us to think that we can do what we want there and then catch us doing something bad. The poster about adopting orphans to me seems to entail that the 'test' dolls are either employees or at least more cooperative subjects and then the line of toys sold to the public are fragments of kids that nobody will miss. It would also explain why deep areas of the factory resemble a house where they would be left to live. Poppy clearly says "im a real girl" in the advertisment and anyone that plays horror games can see that as a red flag.

In the security tape from Leith Pierre, he says they have a “more tame” security system but doesn’t say what it is. Maybe it’s Huggy. He tried to kill you as he sees you as a trespasser. Somethings I've noticed that everyone missed: 1. In the room where you first see the giant 'Huggy Wuggy' there are 2 rooms that can be opened. 1. The room that requires the Blue Hand 2. It's a room that needs you to have the Red and Blue hand in order to open it. From what I know the door does not shut so you can go back and open it when you obtain the right hand. Unfortunately I cannot do this myself. 2. At 8:02 you can see all but one of the toys have blood on them, seeming as if they were murdered. The Dinosaur, however has no blood. Perhaps the dinosaur 'toy' was the one who wrote the warnings then proceeded to hang themselves? Before I get any questions about this, I have a theory that all the 'toys' are really humans just disguised. Like an alternate universe where their appearances aren't what we think. (I hope that made sense.) Edit: I forgot to edit but Tericho did do a video on this and I saw it a bit after I commented this, you can not go back to that door.

About the player theory: You have to keep in mind that most of the reflections in this game are screen-space reflections and will only render stuff from in-front of the player's camera, it's a limitation of the reflection solution and not an intentional choice by the developers, same with the cubemap reflections (that don't rely on screen-space rendering) scattered around the game. The player is probably not a doll.

My thoughts on Huggy being in the vents? Why does the vent door close in that moment? I know, probably a silly thing to consider. But, just hang with me for a moment. You see, I guess it would be well enough to assume there is some button he smacks or something to automatically cause the opening to shut. But, what if something else shut it for him? Either to keep him away from us or possibly keep /us/ away from him. He goes from stalking to hunting after we make the toy, which his motivations for that are already peculiar and up for debate. Does he hunt us because we make the toy? Was this his goal all along? Why not attack us outright in the beginning? But, why does the door suddenly shut? Could it be him playing cat and mouse? Or, was someone controlling the facility a little? Either to protect us or to simply keep him away for a little longer? Dunno, just was thinking about possibilities.~

OK, the "hanged staff" got my attention. When I saw Horror related KZbinrs played this game and came across the broken toys hanging outside of the Poppy door, I honestly thought they were just hanging there for display in the unordinary way. But I didn't think the toys would carry the souls of the staff who "disappeared". But the one thing that confused me the most, is why did Poppy or whoever hanged the damaged toys, would tell us (the player) we shouldn't trust Poppy? I don't think in a horror game, the mastermind would hang bodies(?) just to tell the new victim to stay alert instead of luring them into their territory and kill them on the spot? What is Poppy telling us? But the most important question is this, why would Poppy or whoever wrote a misspelling letter to the protagonist to find the poppy door, would hang the broken toys which have blood stains to warn the protagonist? Also, who would hang broken toys outside of the poppy door? So many questions with little answers.

I think another thing to keep in mind is how a lot of kids took tours around the factory, and not only that but that Playtime co. did do work for orphanages. Maybe some of the kids from the tours/orphanages are trapped inside these dolls as well? It would make sense. You can't just kill ALL of your employees without someone being suspicious. Also, it would make sense to take kids from orphanages; they wouldn't have a family to really hunt down for them as much. This could also explain the misspellings in the letter. Also, I have ANOTHER theory. Maybe the giant Huggy Wuggy doll was placed there for security reasons. Remember the first tape (the green one)? They said that they have traps that will trigger something and call authorities to the facility if you're caught breaking in; and that that is just the least horrid things that can happen to you. Also, on the poster that has the pink Huggy Wuggy on it, it specifically says to NOT STAY IN THE FACTORY AFTER 8pm; which is when I'm assuming they activate their security systems. We know that what Playtime co. is doing in order to make these humanoid-dolls is illegal, and if anyone were to break in, they could expose everything. So what if Huggy was placed there to prevent anyone from breaking inside and coming out alive. Think about it, when you first see Huggy, he acts as if he's not alive. He stands still, holding the key. He doesn't move until you start invading private property by taking the key from him and opening the electric room; all while you're not even looking at him. And like Matpat (watch TheGameTheorist's theory about the game if you haven't yet) said, he has a digestive system, but he doesn't NEED to eat. meaning that if no one attempted a break in for years, it would still be fine, and Huggy wouldn't try to break out to eat or anything. I believe that these giant Huggy creatures were created to be the "security system" the guy on the first tape was talking about. And that's why you have to defeat all of these giant meat baby toys in order to actually save everyone. If the soul inside of the blue Huggy creature was unwilling to be inside the Huggy creature, wouldn't he have killed you as soon as you stepped in the factory? Or even tried to break out the factory himself? Why would he sit with a key in his hand, in an abandoned factory for years on end? I don't think these creatures like the giant Huggy, Catbee and etc. HAVE souls; because they're meant for security. The only reason why the Poppy dolls had to include human souls was because they got more sales off of the doll actually having a human personality with emotions, goals and etc. It was intentional.

I also thought that but If Huggy Wuggy is placed there for security why would he gave us the keys to enter? His literally helping us trespassing. He decide to kill us just after making a toy when he could do it a lot before. And I think if Huggy wuggy was made taking an employee, Huggy Wuggy would recognized his old co-worker because the player is an ex employee of the factory. He probably knows the reason why when came to the factory and that's why he help us without being that obvious cause he knows if we see him moving we are going to freak out. He gets mad and decide to kill us after making a toy because we are here to help the employees and not make toys like the ones who transform them into toys. He comes back to his violent nature. I supposed he has a violent nature cause when the scientist explain that they need to do this atrocities in the name of science, you can clearly hear people screaming and panicking and heavy noises, almost like people are trying to run away from a giant. I think in that tape, Hyggy Wuggy went into and rampage after escaping the place where he was kept because he was mad that they turn him into a toy (unwillingly, as matpat said) - but there's a possibility that the creatures there talking about is not Huggy Wuggy but a previous experiment who need to eat to survive. But Maybe Huggy Wuggy just help us so he could chase us after to double terrify the trespasser. He's watching us in the distance, and when we are in front of him that's the moment we're he try to kill us. Every thing could be possible.

Firstly, I want to say this about Experiment 1006. It says that co-ordination and co-operation is evidently within his skill set. In chapter 2, the hand is seen taking the mutilated remains of Mommy Long Legs. Think about it: if he had co-operation in his skillset then why would he not have helped Mommy kill you, or Huggy for that matter? As well as this, when you think about it, the kids in the Gamestation were being exposed to some living giants (with Huggy being over 3 metres tall and Mommy being over 4 metres long+) that could move and interact with them. They were also exposed to small living Huggies, with the note that they required strings to be used to pull them back when the got to close. This could possibly mean they were being exposed to highly aggressive and violent dolls as well.
