What if the protagonist is a sort of remote controlled toy? Like, the person controlling them actually made a clever idea to not directly go in the factory but sending a toy? This why a voice keep encouraging them to stand up. Notice also the tv-esque static during 'knock out screen' as if the person controlling them can't see because the camera got jammed.

Immersing into the game makes alot of sense, since so much of the games spooks (In both chapters 1 and 2 at this point) don't take place in a cutscene. The game doesn't "pause" the gameplay to spook you, it carries on with the spooks then and there.

If Huggy was trying to push the protagonist towards Poppy I don’t think killing would be an option which he clearly does if he catches up to you. To me Huggy almost seems to be standing guard, almost as if he knew Poppy would try to bring you back to try and free her. Maybe Huggy was trying to stop you….

1. The note, The note was most likely wrote by Huggy, but not by his own accord. 2. The tape, in the 1st tape, the Owner talks a out security, which most likely means he’s been doing experiments, in 2 of the tapes they mention orphans, they probably are using them for experiments. In the other tape, it’s an interview with “Stella” she says she loves kids and she wants other kids to experience the same thing as her, She could be Poppy, think about that for a second. 3. The background of Huggy, Huggy was most likely an experiment, (Experiment 1006) he has a or many human souls trapped inside of him, most likely souls of kids that is the reason why most of the toys bleed actual blood, Poppy controls him to bring you to her, for that reason I don’t know, but we see on the walls messages like “Don’t Go” or “Turn Back” they could be written by Huggy saying go back or Poppy will kill you. And the reason he try’s to eat you is because he’s been down there for over 10 years and probably hasn’t got fed, he try’s to hold himself back but he cannot. When he chases you to the vents, to the front of the giant Poppy, he try to get you to turn back, but is still to hungry and looks like he’s trying to kill you (which he is) so you pull the box down and he falls, he was most likely trying to get you to turn back because Poppy will try and kill you. (If I remember any more of my theory I’ll reply to my comment)

Let me add on to this theory as chapter 2 is out. As you know in one vhs tape one scientist mentions something being missing and since Kissy Missy is Huggy’s counterpart it would make sense that she’s the one missing, in one of your other theories that you have recently made, you mention that there was a break out and that Kissy took/saved some of the orphans and hid them with her in a secret part of the factory keeping her mind non-corrupted, Kissy Missy didn’t do anything to hurt us in chapter 2 either but instead helped us. Kissy must be the one that is missing Edit: i do think that our character may be a toy of some sort but I don’t think it’s the one that is missing, I don’t think it’s one of the toys you would meet in the factory though

I see a lot of theories about Stella being Poppy, but what about Huggy being Laith, the head of security? Wouldn't it make sense, that when everyone is being turned into toys, the head of security gets transmitted into what is arguably becomes the biggest security measure the factory has? That could explain why Huggy doesn't attack you until you get deeper into the factory and closer to Poppy: when you're in that first big room, he's giving you a chance to turn back like he says in the vhs tape, when you're getting the second hand, he just watches, seeing what you're doing. It isn't until you start up sections of the factory, make a new toy and get too close to Poppy for comfort that he attacks, as at that point you're a liability and could be seen as stealing factory property. Laith as Huggy would make sense even within the terms of Huggy and Poppy working together: The two people that you get the name of and the two main characters of the game (excluding yourself) being connected and wanting to seek revenge for what happened to them. Being abandoned and locked up and left, and using the player to get what they want after so many years. It's a running theory at the moment, but Laith being Huggy just makes sense

It may just be me "seeing faces in the moon", but that code almost looks like it spells out "Evan" twice, once in the second word, and once upside down in the fourth word. Almost like something's trying to communicate but doesn't know what it's doing. Combine this with the theory that you're being talked about in the final tape (as experiment 1006), and you can assume that your character is "Evan", former employee turned toy that escaped and is returning. Maybe keep an eye out for the name Evan in oncoming chapters?

It does seem to be the case, like the game asking "Experiment 1006, isn't he wonderful?" after Huggy kills you, but why would the scientist talk about 1006 being missing when said experiment is currently slaughtering all his coworkers??

No one talks about how painful that must of been for our boi Huggy? Stomach of the doll would of ruptured, and guts too. The box did such a full slam on the main body before it broke the walkway. Explains the blood gushing out of the mouth AS he gets dragged off by gravity. And hitting the pipes was near the main torso, also causing it to gag out blood, and the scream is just the pain that finally caught up when the adrenaline it had while chasing the player ran out, or due to the box knocking the air out of him. Edit: Oh boy, I wonder if anyone else has some stuff that explains better than this. Because all I described was the possible pain the poor blue floof of a doll had. Edit 2: People think the boi is 1006, though they are correct, but most reasons are good. Thought 1006 on the last tape was mentioned MISSING while Huggy was on a killing spree in the background. Good guesses either way.

I feel like the warning at the beginning about a less "tame" security approach is alluding to Huggy Wuggy. He's not damaging anything when he chases you. He knows his way around and always knows where you are, as if the sensory monitors might be connected with Huggy Wuggy and gives up your location for him to find. The reason I think he doesn't attack right away is to give you a chance to turn around, before setting off the whole alarm system like how the company's founder warned you about. Also, the blood stains when Huggy Wuggy hit the pipes might not be a human/doll experiment, but rather all of Huggy Wuggy's dead victims rotting inside him and who also might have trespassed and unfortunately been caught by him.

what if the hands at the background off the tape indicate what happened to the employee maybe Stella is Poppy therefor the background shows a hand with a puffy sleeve like the dress poppy wears.The one for the tresspasser tape kind off looks like huggy wuggy's hand(might be seeing wrong though)And that might also explain why Huggy wuggy is chasing the protagonist. Not sure aboutt he other hands as in the toy crane and the skeleton one but the hands off the two background tapes do look like huggy wuggy's hand and poppy's hand.

Yeah, I agree. I feel like the images on the VHS tapes have more value than most than most people think. It’s possible that Stella can be connected to Poppy and and why poppy’s hand showed up on her tape, and I feel like the skeleton hand could represent the deaths of humans used in the experiments.

The Huggy Wuggy hand has a few meanings. For example, Huggy could be Laithe Pierre, or Laithe Pierre could've been killed by him. There are a few ways to interpret that image.

What if the missing person is stella because she specifically says that she wishes to be young and a child forever. The person in the vhs said that the thing was 'co-operative' this shows that it could be that same person (stella) because she said that she wanted to be young forever so when the idea was proposed to her she agreed which is why she is described as 'co-operative'. Along side this my theory is that stella is poppy. This also links to my first theory as she is described as "missing" however she isn't missing but she has been locked away by someone. Maybe one of the other characters who are trying to protect her from something like maybe huggy. Due to his rampant nature one of the other characters may have locked her away to protect her from huggy as she was one of the successful experiments and the character wanted to keep her alive as she may be an asset in the future chapters.

With the info revealed in chapter 3, like the radio message that says our presence was demanded during the hour of joy, the protagonist's constant silence during some pretty terrifying stuff, and of course the fact that they're unsurprised by all of this in the first place. They already know how to use a grab pack and all the hands that interchangeable hand features. It's also shown through Miss Delight that Playtime Co. was capable of producing pretty normal-looking humanoid dolls. So, here's my theory. We're a doll that was designed to go in and do the dangerous work no humans were capable of performing themselves, but we turned on the company and helped release all the toys during the hour of joy and were subsequently expected to take part in the slaughter, but instead we escaped had have managed to live a fake life as a human. Our betrayal of the prototype and abandonment of the other toys is what lead us to be marked as an enemy.

Second, I was going back on some of your videos and as I watched this one I got curious to the death scene with the random jumbled letters or code. And so I opened google lens on my cell phone and searched it and then translated it. This is what came up. Part of me ponders if the Catbee we made might be our "Companion" in this game. I realized she returns to our inventory when we use her to open the door. Perhaps, she sees us as a "Good Guy" because we created her and she eventually tells us what's happened over the years of the factory. That is, if she does come to life.

Because in the trailer of the game, we know both Huggy, Poppy, and Bron are alive, while the other 4 remain a mystery. Also, there was a giant Bron in the warehouse puzzle, so...

Very possible because it seems multiple toy/humans were running through the vents. Most likely away from huggy or to go towards the flower but as you progress closer multiple warnings are written through the vents not to go as well as around the flower door. So as they had time to fight the programming enough they wrote the warnings before they made it to poppy and inevitably got caught.

As Carolyn Argo and others have suggested, and my thought too -- Huggy is most likely Laith Pierre, chief of innovation & security, just like Stella was turned into Polly. IMHO the Ch. 1 Easter Eggs hint this, and explain why Huggy didn't attack initially. 1st clue after all is the VHS tape with Laith's voice, hinting of ominous "security measures" for anyone who breaches Playtime's factory and doesn't turn back. The player isn't a threat at first (and Huggy himself doesn't know why he's there), but once he activates the conveyor belt -- likely en route to seeking out Polly, the company's trade secret -- now the red-alert security kicks in, i.e. Huggy Wuggy. It's exactly the kind of "warning with gradations" that Laith was providing, and given what's now strongly suspected (that the employees were turned into intelligent, organic, possibly cyborg toys), Huggy is most likely Laith.

Makes me think that Poppy and Huggy were pals that were a sort of collaboration as the two most popular toys and an ex employee hid her away from Huggy and the mad scientists when they caught wind of some of the experiments- and after Poppy was taken is when Huggy proceeded to lose his mind and throw all the employees into the toy machine. Maybe protag knew about the experiments and left before it all went bad and came back 10 years later when the time was 'right'. I think Poppy could be experiment 1006, but I guess we'll find out as the chapters are released.

Okay so there's still something strange about Poppy. If u saw the ending, when she says the words "you opened my case", her voice is suprised, like she would never thought someone would actually open his case. Chapter 1 really looks like Poppy's a hostage, and Huggy wuggy is the "only" abomination at the moment. If u remember the tapes, Stella really liked the toys, that's why she can be Poppy after all, and the letter in the beginning really shows that some of the employees were already toys just like Poppy. But then, they created Huggy wuggy (maybe from an orphan against it's will") and it just went on a rampage. + there's human eyes in Huggy's eyes which really shows that someone was "placed" into Huggy. The ad which told the people about Poppy (the first real doll) was a success for the company, and even the people there were still alive, so what I think of is that some of the employees survived Huggy's rampage and they know that only Poppy and the "main character" can stop him. That's why u need to find the flower where Poppy were placed by Huggy maybe, and that's why u see toys on ropes around the Flower door entrance, since some of them tried to save her, and Huggy wanted to show the others that some of them actually failed while they tried to save her.

If they were to succeed in making living toys, they couldn't even find enough people to convert into toys in mass so they wanted to make living toys much like a species of animal. Okay, hear me out for a second. Y'all remember that long skeleton hand on the vhs recording? Notice how long Huggy's hands are? Well they aren't abnormally long, in fact, they're quite short. Anyways, when we "first" run into Huggy and he begins chasing us, notice where his arms bend when they hit the floor. Considering his fingers are short and the skeleton hand shown was longer maybe that's where his wrist bends. Alright, I know you're probably like, "that literally makes no sense", BUT LISTEN. Considering they were still experimenting when everyone "disappeared", maybe Huggy was some sort of rough draft that was a bit too.. rough. This could explain why his fingers are immobile as far as we have seen. For a sec, I shall digress. Exp. 1006. I know y'all already feel like it isn't poppy, but this goes into what I said just a few seconds ago. Y'know, about him being to messed up and barely considered a rough draft. The scientist talked about how exp. 1006 was coordinated and cooperative. Maybe these characteristics didn't find their way into Huggy (going off of the robot or AI theory), or maybe Huggy isn't actually a toy at all. We've already seen that all of the toys bleed, showing possible signs of life or former life. This includes Huggy, as we saw him fall into the bottomless pit of smoke, but on his way down he faced some casualties and we saw his blood splatters. Not only this, but I saw in another video that if you get really close to Huggy's eyes, you can see almost human-like eyes behind the full black ones we see. It could easily be someone in a suit or something. I mean, the player is very short, as explained in the video and there's no way to measure the height oft he furniture in the game. If Playtime Co. was actually taking care of children they could've bought smaller furniture for them- I have another theory. This is the last one, I swear. What if this was Playtime Co.'s goal from the very start. What of they wanted an all human-toy or living toy staff and the small furniture was for the staff after they'd all turned into toys. I mean, any and every child would want to go to a place where the toys live, breathe, bleed, and eat the same as humans do (note the sarcasm

In regards to the protagonist not having any voice lines or reactions to what’s happening, I think it could be more of a game design technique of letting >you< experience everything in first hand, and not through the eyes of another character. This way the game is more immersive and scary. I mean, Poppy’s not the first horror game to do this.

Well, months and months after this game came out and many many videos later I was watching a youtuber who played the statues part like 10 times in a row and thanks to that I noticed this, and since already saw this theory of yours, I came back to say this: I kinda think you're right. In statues, the player's character can go through the tunnels to get away from the nasty freaky pug thing. They are really small, kid's size, and your character can go in there and you can still see the hands in front of you, so you're not crawling, and even if you were, it would be really hard to move for a grown man, it should be a really thin person to fit in there along with the grabpack. And the obstacles, first, the mini walls, you can see a regular size gate open and it's way higher than the walls designed to keep children from climbing them, so they're really small and yet you can't see above them. And the yellow bricks at the end of the course in which you have to parkour, like they can actually stop you, as if you were a kid's size or less. A regular grown up should easily step on top of those without jumping, right? And because this guy played so bad I was able to, well, get bored, but also realize the perspective of the hands. In the grabpack tutorial tape I believe it seems like a grown up man would see the pair of hands in a different perspective than the player's character, a bit lower, not practially in front of the face, like in a child's perspective, "or a toy's. Despite it's at shoulder level, due to the size of the hands, a small creature would see the hands right in front of the face. And yet, the perspective is not consistent, you can fit in a tunnel designed for children practically standing up and then at the offices you see the desks and the door handles at the right level for a man and in other corridors you can see fuse boxes and electric cabinets and pipe valves way above the character's head. So either way, if the character is a regular size man or a toy, I believe the developers didn't pay attention to those details because you shrink and grow very conveniently throughout the game.

The player seems to move considerably faster in the vents due to the conveyer belts then they do normally, which could easily trigger that drive to chasedown the player. Plus The idea that huggy has some form of prey drive could also help explain some of his earlier behaviors too. As the main sequence the drive follows is: Search, stalk, chase, kill and consume. Add that with his seemingly high intelligence and you’ve got yourself a terrifyingly clever and successful predator.

@@Botsusann Thats a great theory! Mine isnt that great but connects the beginning tape to huggy wuggy. In the beginning of the game, you can find a security tape where they explain how their security system works, aswell as hinting that their system of security is gruesome after a simply threat of contacting the authorities. In one of the posters there is one that says "dont stay passed 8 PM" which is a reasonable estimated closing time for the factory. The player is obviously in after 8 PM since outside appears to be very dark. Huggy Wuggy could be predatory security mechanism, his mouth does appear to sometimes have robotic looking parts from certain instances in the game. And he doesn't start going after the player until they start messing with the factories most major facilities like the toy maker. He also appears to be watching the player repeatedly until they mess with something, then we see him go after the player forwardly, hunting them down till they make him fall off the bridge. I believe he may have considered the player as an intruder, and went full action after observing their behavior.

the pov of your character seems quite low to me. for this type of job, you’re obviously not a child and you’re not just visiting it as a child because in the opening, it says that you’re an ex employee.

I feel like Huggy Wuggy will be returning in future chapters, he has magnets in his hands so he could’ve just reached out both his long arms to cling onto something metal and slowly start climbing back up. He also has an unused running animation. So that makes me think this first encounter with Huggy Wuggy was just a taste of what he’s really capable of. The next time we meet him, he’ll be enraged and damaged… He’ll be sprinting instead of walking.

the most likely reason for no voice is: The person who made the game wants YOU to voice the player in the game. so YOU can voice them however you want.
